  • The full Channel 7 piece on Grand Final day with Swans, which saw the Black Ducks break their premiership drought. Help us preserve the WAFL's history by visiting our website at www.waflvideoarchive.webs.com. We are digitising any WAFL footage we can get our hands on - and that means we want your old VHS tapes (or DVDs, if you have them). As a trade, we offer you DVD footage from our growing archive and, of course, we will return your old tapes.

My deepest condolences to you and your family. I never had the chance to meet the great man in person but I’m proud to have a small family connection with him and Swans (My uncle was a runner for swans under his tenure as coach). Basso hearts broke when the news of his passing broke. Swans forever 🖤🤍🦢🤍🖤

It's just marvellous to have this.
Swans were a helluva side back then with Ron Boucher, Leon Baker and other champs.
Deep respect from a South Freo supporter.

I was just an 8yo kid back then. Too poor to get a grand final ticket, so I listened on the radio (the match wasn’t televised live) and cheered with every possession. All I wanted was a premiership for my beloved Swans. This day was one of the highlights of my childhood.

Remember that day like it was yesterday. Partied for weeks. Also a good watch is the 1982 win against Collingwood with John Todd forcing them into wear an alternative strip for the first time ever and since. Good old Swanies forever.

When West Aussie men were men. From the late 90s onwards when it all went soft.

@MUFC Soccer is the most overrated sport played by wimpy flops that dive, fake injuries and pretend they’ve been shot just to get free kicks or opponents carded < Aussie rules football is the best sport in the world and is a real man’s sport played by real men that can handle contact and real tackles.
By 2100, soccer will continue continue to be AFL’s bitch and will be laughed at because of its ridiculous diving culture. You are dreaming if you think soccer will ever overtake Aussie rules or if you think you’re going to convert the people who support the Great Australian Game into soccer wankers by spamming this stupid comment on every single Aussie rules video you loser.
