I was at this game, I remember the hit on Phil Krakouer. It took a while for Claremont to settle and get into the game after that. I remember some Swans fans leaving because they thought the game was over. Claremont got back into the game though and eventually overhauled the Swans and won the game. Can't remember the scores for the life of me.
In the same round, South Fremantle set a still-standing record for the highest score in the WAFL, defeating West Perth 40.18 (258) to 12.6 (78). Has any footage of this game survived?

Great days of footy
I’m a subi supporter and it was our best year in the middle of a dry spell for the club, almost extinct. The rest is history
Go you Mighty Monts 💙💛

Some massive scores by all the top sides. Remember Claremont kicking 30+ four weeks running
Great football back in those days the top sides would be like if you want to kick 22 we will kick 25
@Pablo668 Claremont got home 22.16 (148) to 20.13 (133). Great game of footy.
If I had a time machine, I 'd go back to the WAFL competition back in the late 70's and early 80's - big scores were kicked nearly every week!
The year of the TIGER!
CARVOLTH!!! And he's in a MUTHA-EFFIN' TURTLENECK!!!
NO TIES FOR THIS MAVERICK!!!
When the Tigers were in trouble G Moss appealed to the players' personal pride.
Do you possibly have some old or new WAFL footage of some more big hits?
Phil really copped it... twice.
