This is the second time my iPhone 14 pro has done this. This time your solution worked. The first time-a couple of months ago-I ended up having to plug it in to my laptop and go to iTunes for the fix. That worked, too, but was much more time consuming. I’m not happy with this phone. I’ve had iPhones since the very first one, and this is the only model that has done this for me. Grrr.
Just did this with my wife’s phone. Didn’t work the first time but did work the second time. I held the power button for approximately 10 seconds before I saw the Apple logo on the screen. Video was a huge help.

Happened to my wife’s iPhone 14 Pro. Reset worked AFTER trying continuously, repeatedly for almost half an hour (started a timer to measure passage of time). I had practically given up. Sipping my coffee. Watching a UA-cam on physics. BAM! The Apple logo appeared. MESSAGE: it will work, don’t give up. Now I see why Apple Genius Bar won’t always fix this; it’s because they won’t try the procedure for half an hour straight, but clearly this is what it takes sometimes. After several videos and Apple support blogs- this worked. Mind you, I did the “up, down, power button hold” probably 20 times already but for some reason it decided to work this time!
Had to hold Power button for at least 20-30secs to hard reset, but my 14 Pro Max(IOS 16.2) came back to life. Mine died while wireless MagSafe charging overnight. Battery app shows it went brain dead shortly after reaching full charge. I follow this channel for the LG C2 tips, but glad I came upon this. Thanks TG!

Had to hold Power button for at least 20-30secs to hard reset, but my 14 Pro Max(IOS 16.2) came back to life. Mine died while wireless MagSafe charging overnight. Battery app shows it went brain dead shortly after reaching full charge. I follow this channel for the LG C2 tips, but glad I came upon this. Thanks TG!

I pressed the up button then the down button and held the power button for approximately 15-20 seconds and voila it worked.

I set about googling an answer because I did not want to go to AT&T or Apple and have them tell me it was hopeless. This phone is not even a year old. I tried it 5 times and only watched your video assuming you might have a different fix but I kept trying because you said it took a few and it worked😂 thank you. I didn’t get a warranty on this one because I never use them and if I have they don’t “ cover” what’s broken.
