- Uploading a quick video about the new Starfield Update. We got a buggy, but they also broke a long standing ship building mechanic
Sorry about the audio issues, I am still working on getting all my stuff set up on this new computer.
Couple notes I will pin here. First.. Shattered Space is SEPTEMBER 30th, not 10 days away. My sleepy brain couldn't math properly last night..
Second: Apparently you can color the buggy. If you are running the "Ship Builder Categories" mod, the reinstall that mod to update it.
Third: I acknowledge the need to fix bugs in the game. This could have been causing issues somewhere else in the game that we didn't know about. But at the same time, ship builders have lost a valuable and widely accepted technique for building ships. If Bethesda needed to fix this bug, I would have liked to see them update the tolerances in the default game to allow us to blend pieces. It is what it is though. We will adapt and overcome.
It's not a bug. It was clearly stated in the update description. Bethesda took it out on purpose. The mods are much better than the flip glitch.
@@Rockr69747 I agree that using mods are better than trying to figure these techniques, Ship Building Tweaks makes it super easy. It just now people who don't mod are now limited on their options, when they should be getting more.
@@TeamScorpioRII actually think SBTs are harder cuz you have to plan better. I use micro modules for engines, grav drives, reactors etc....and I pack a ton of them on my ships. I like to keep my builds under 400 mass if possible, so my ships are very small. It takes a lot of effort to hide them all and not have them clip into the interior.
@@Rockr69747 Nice. I have never tried a micro-ship. I tend to build big. I think the smallest ship I built was my Raider or my Crimson Fleet ship. I am just a sucker for a big ship with lots of habs (though they take me forever to decorate)
@@TeamScorpioRI Nice. I hate decorating. I still crew 6 though.
I'm a bit sad that you don't build a garage on your ship and get to drive your vehicle out, but it's still cool to see it exist now.
Yeah a special module would have been nice. But that seems far too ambitious for Lazythesda.
We hope for the modders as alsways.
That definitely would have been awesome. Its a little non-immersive, especially if you have a tiny ship build. Like, where on the Frontier is the buggy?
Woah bro that makes way too much sense, can’t he having that kind of forward thinking at Bethesda 😂
well, loading screens already tell you bethesda isnt going for immersion or anything similiar in this game bro
Let me correct a common mistake tons of people make nowadays: it's not glitches. It's bugs. A bug is the difference between specification and implementation. Which is basically just a fancy way to say "things that works different from how they were intended". Bugs are reproducible, if the conditions are known (but can be hard if multithreading is involved), and can be fixed by a software developer. If something you abuse *can* be fixed by a software developer, it is *always* a bug, and *never* a glitch. And yes, this means that pretty much everything people call glitches in videogames are actually bugs.
Just for reference, a glitch is a hardware issue that can look like a software issue. For example, the artifacts you see when you overclock your GPU too much, those are glitches. Nothing a software developer does can fix those, and you cant reproduce glitches. As in, of course you can overclock your GPU to get artifacts, but it wont be the same artifacts. A cosmic ray flipping a bit, and the effect corresponding to that bitflip, would also be a glitch. Not reproducible, and nothing a software developer can do about it.
Good point and all true. In some of my later videos, I preferred to refer to them as "blending techniques". To me it sounded a little better. "Flip Bug" does sound a little weird to me, though.
@@TeamScorpioRI While i do have a weird dislike for people using the wrong term (probably since i work in the field), i absolutely agree that glitch simply goes off the tongue easier. Maybe exploit is a good alternative tho. If you abuse any mechanic in an unintended way, it's an exploit. That usually involves bugs anyways. Not like i can singlehandedly change how people call stuff anyways, so if you still want to use the term glitch, even tho it's not technically correct, that's your good right. Sadly everybody else does too^^
In the business we call it a feature.
@@RB-xj4fg Accurate
You can recolor the buggy, but that's pretty much it for now.
I tried doing that and it didn't change. Weird
It does work actually
@@kubeanie18 I reloaded the game and tried it and now I can color it. One of the mods was causing a conflict.
I had to shut down all other ship building creations to get this mod to work correctly. Load order didn’t help, some creation content doesn’t play well with others. You’d think content cross checks would be appropriate for creations, but then this is an Agile world.
Thanks for advocating for non-modders
I love me some good mods, but I think Bethesda as a company relies on them a little TOO much. A lot of the features mods give us should be implemented into the base game. Things like "Better Ship Part Flips", "Place Doors Yourself", and "Empty 1x1 Habs" could all easily be put into the vanilla game without breaking anything or changing the way the game is played. Now, I do think mods like Darkstar.. where they change the actual mechanics of the ship piece, should be left as a mod. That to me is a true mod. The others are Bethesda using independent developers for free labor.
Thank you so much for pointing out the mod that restores the glitching. I was so pissed about that.
1. You can change the colour of the Buggy
2. Shattered Space comes out 30th September which is over a month away, not 10 days my dude
doh I made the same mistake, the weather got so cold I thought it was September lol
LOL.. Damn. I guess I got over exited!
Its called a mistake. Calm down. You ran to the comments all excited to correct him.
@@whathappened246 I'll own this mistake.
Idk why but I really like Starfield. Hope they keep adding and adding to it.
I love it too,. At least we have the Shattered Space DLC coming next week
@@TeamScorpioRI *month... it comes out September 30th
@@TeamScorpioRIit’s a glitch and it got patched that’s a good thing also 9/30/24 is not next week bad video
@@sabrinamaldonado8971 I think there are glitches which are really annoying like cutscene dialogues ... But a glitch that you have to actively provoke and is useful isn't a glitch its a feature.
I used to like this this game until today. I can’t even start the game anymore it keeps freezing. Looks like I’m going back to red dead redemption
You can change the color of your car, you have to go to the ship guy and where you buy the car you can change color of the car
Interesting. I tried that and nothing changed on my buggy.
stupid Bethesda constantly relying on others to do their work for them. Modders need to fix this for free.
They already have. Ship Building Tweaks or Ship Part Merging Enabled both will let you blend parts again (with out the need to flip the piece, just slide it in place... as long as you have a open hookpoint)
Of course they need to revert the glitches, after all their own ships are built with glitches. You can change the color of your buggy, not sure exactly, but there are several videos showing. I suspect that before the month is over someone will release a mod mounting the Vanguard Obltirator or something similar on it.
I really hope they don't do that, or all my current ships will go up in smoke (except for my Warchild build, which is just straight). I do think they should allow us to blend parts together without the need of the glitch.
As for the buggy, I found out that it was one of the mods causing the issue with coloring. It looked like I could color it, but it would just revert. Figured that is typical Bethesda.. lol. I am looking forward to seeing what mods the community comes up with for the buggy.
Wanna bet Bethesda sells additional buggy's through the Creation Club?
I downloaded that mod...and it didn't fix the issues...it's still broken on xbox...sad days....this will kill ship building....for me fix it or I'm done
Weird. That worked on mine, unless they broke that mod now too.
Just tested it again and its working on PC.
It's definitely not working on xbox...unless I'm doing something wrong...I even changed the load order...gonna wait and see....but it don't change back...starfield will lose another player.
@@Revan-88 For load order, Ship Building Tweaks should go last. I usually have Ship Building Categories first, then any new pieces (Matilija, Tiger, AvonTech, Etc..), then I have my decoration mods (Better Living, Buildable Walls, etc..), then functionality last (Flips, Tweaks, etc..). That has been working for me with no real issues. I do not have the Community Patch, which I heard is causing some issues right now.
@@TeamScorpioRI it worked...thanks
It will be fixed and broken again and so on 🤷♂️
That’s the life of mods
Sounds like software in general. Fix it, patch it, break it, patch it, break something else, patch that, breaks something unrelated.... Such is life
So they patched out a glitch... not the first-time a Developer has done that - and won't be the last....
Better they fixed bugs before a glitch that nobody cared about.
@@jamesmeldrum4563 The thing is a lot of people care about because its the only way to get a little bit of freedom for creativity in ship building. Vanilla ship building is boring and very restricted without the glitches. The whole mechanism is boring and implemented lazy imo. Don't get me wrong ship building is still my favorite in this relativly boring game. But it could be so much more. Outpost building is way worse in my eyes.
@@stewenw4120 I get that. What I meant is that people would prefer Bethesda to fix bugs rather than worry about glitches that really don't bother anybody.
James is on the right track here. Plenty of actual bugs to fix. If this was something game breaking that let you get OP fast (like the vendor chest glitch they patched last time), then sure. It should be fixed out. This one was something that was embraced by the majority of the community. If they wanted to patch the mechanic, they should have modified the default tolerance values to allow some freedom in blending parts.
The vendors sell ships that can't be recreated without that "glitch"....
I tried out the ship building tweaks mod from creations. It does work to an extent. But not as good compared to ship glitched techniques. So thankfully. I had not downloaded the latest update. Honestly, while the rover looks cool but not enough to excite me. I’ll wait until a modder reverts it back.
It does let you do the flip glitch, but not the "drop down compact" glitch. I think that one is gone forever, unfortunately.
Since the latest update I've had nothing but problems with Starfield. It feels like BGS introduced more bugs than they fixed this go around. How on earth could their Quality Control people have approved this update for release I will never know. I even went and disabled ALL my mods and the game still couldn't function properly. And BGS tells us it will all be fixed in the next update, which is 5-7 weeks from now? I think I will wait till GS gets the game stable again before I download Shattered Space and introduce a ton more bugs.
I wish there was a way to revert to the previous release so I could have a more stable playing experience. I'd rather have a playable game, than a buggy the caused all these other bugs.
I do think that with a company as big as BGS, they would have a beefy QC team. I have a feeling though that their QC team relies too much on automation than actual play testing. Automation is great for the simple bulk tasks (walk forward, walk backwards, jump, etc), but usually fails to recreate an actual user experience.
@@TeamScorpioRI Exactly! Automation is great for doing unit and integration testing. But with something as complex as a game like Starfield, you will get unintended interactions between modules due to failures to keep to property/variable names consistent, etc. They really do need a dedicated playtest cadre to actually play the Release Canidate and give a Go/NoGo decision.
9/30/24 is not 10 days away, lol
I realized that now... Some days I am lucky that I know what day it is.
The buggy is really cool, took it on a planet with .07 gravity, almost could fly. I don't use ship building glitch, but I hope they unfix it so it works again for you all that do. Thanks for the mod recommendation on ship building, I may try it out.
Oh, the first thing I did was take the buggy to a moon and went all "Dukes of Hazzard" seeing how far I can jump it!
I agree.
I feel they shouldn't of fixed the ability to glitch.
The fact that some of the in game ships can not be built 1 to 1 without this glitch, so it only makes sense to allow the glitch to stay.
Or fix the glitch, but allow us to blend parts together in the game. That would have been acceptable. I had to go back to all my Vengeance builds and put a note that they can no longer be built without mods.
Adding a basic buggy without customization, that appears right outside your ship every time you land is what would be called "Tier zero" in Star Citizen. They could have added a new landing bay garage module where you can park your buggy inside your ship but seems that is just too much for Bethesda.
I would have loved a new module for ships. It could even be tied to different vehicle types. Class A would be a little put together rover that could collapse into a pod (similar size to a small cargo hold), all the way up to a class C larger truck style with its own garage (that would double as the landing bay for the ship as well)
From release any time players found something in the game they were having fun with, that fun would get patched out asap!
All along I was expecting flip glitch to get patched out because too many people were having fun with it.
Took longer for the devs to kill the fun than I expected. It finally came though.
Then Bugthesda wonders why so many people dislike this game.
True. If they had adjusted the tolerances in the game file to let us blend the pieces along with fixing this bug, then I would be less bummed. At least we still have mods to use. .. for now.
For things like this, the reason they probably removed it is maybe in the future, they may make it a feature, but if not it causes the gameplay to break playing on vanilla, so most likely they had to patch it out for gameplay reasons.
@@Finger112 I am guessing there was a legit good reason it got patched out now. My guess is that it related to the duplicate ship glitch that was also fixed. It could also be that they were not generally aware until they saw the Ship Design Contest and saw all the glitched parts.
Press C in vehicle screen to change colour of our buggy... it's the very first thing I noticed havng bought it.
It wasn't working for me. I would change the color, but it would revert back to normal. See pinned comment for explanation.
@@TeamScorpioRI Ahhh, that sucks! No doubt others are struggling with the same I guess. Hopefully they will fix it soon!!
It’s all broken for me. Can’t view the buggy in the shop vendor menu at all. Just shows me 600 different ship parts up close.
@@crayolavet4433 Delete your Ship Building Categories mod and redownload it. The completely quit the game and restart. That should fix it.
This update deleted all the map planet textures for me.
It did the same to me at first. Kind of funny to see all these "You are not supposed to see this" text on planets. Close out and reload the game and you should be good.
I don’t find the buggy very good or faster than running. I use personal atmosphere and can run forever. Also the dark star astrodynamics back pack is a game changer.
Maybe a hovercraft type buggy would go over rough landscape better.
The ships tweaks mod did not work for me on Xbox but I will try reloading it.
Great content, thank you.
Make sure the ship building tweaks is last in your load order. You want that making its changes after all the other mods.
I thought the buggy was ok. There is a couple mods out not for it. The Rev9 mod basically gives it a boost in stats, and there is a "Luke's Landspeeder" mod that just looks incredible.
wait they took away the only thing lets you make things look better ! Bethesda's theme tune for this game is literally one step forward and two steps back, literally every ship i have has flip glitched parts, hell the ship builder was the only thing that made this game worth playing
Excactly! 👍
Yeah. It was a weird glitch to fix. Now, if they fixed, but then lowered the default tolerances so that you could still blend the parts.. then I would say its a win.
"They never learn" (c) Voldemort... "Don't fix what's not broken..." (c) Someone including me.
lol.. Agreed. Though to be fair, it was technically broken. But it was something that made its way into the ship building community. I think this will push more builders (and players) towards mods.
He was to early with his comment "there is only ONE buggy in the game".
A few hours after launch there are now 4 of them - all different!
Any of the ship techs or each different ones?
Interesting. I will have to go back and see if there the others. I just had the option for the REV-8
I wish they would let you park the buggy inside the landing bay.
So when I go to “I would like to view my vehicles” all that pops up are a number of ship modules that I haven’t purchased. No buggy. The game is showing me that a Vanguard Particle Cannon and a Shield Generator amongst other things is a vehicle. When I try to select those things to color them nothing happens. So at least for me that mechanic is completely nonexistent.
The buggy in a landing bay would be awesome. Like give us a special landing bay that has the buggy inside.
As for your issues. I am guessing you have the "Ship Builder Categories" mod. If you are running it through Nexus, update it. If you are running it through the Creation Kit, then uninstall that mod and reinstall it. Then quit the game and completely reload. That is what fixed it for me.
I can’t get the buggy, it lets me buy it and takes my money, but doesn’t give me the buggy. I suspect it has to do to a MOD, but I don’t want the buggy bad enough to screw up months of game play.
I have heard this before. If you get mods from the creation store, it may be the Community Patch mod causing this. It should be updated, but you have to delete it, redownload it, and then restart the game.
@@TeamScorpioRI Thank you for the help, I’ll try it tonight when I get in from work.
Thanks for the vid, it helped a lot, FYI you can you change the color by going back to the ship service technician under vehicles.
Thank. I tried that, but it wouldn't work for me. Odd
Clickbait title....
Welcome to UA-cam. New here?
The fact that the vehicle by default has a weapon is great. That means there's base code to work with for modders when they start creating their own vehicles with weapons.
My questions: How long before HALO vehicles are modded in? And which one is first?
My guess is the Warthog.
It will definitely be modded. I am going to guess at least 2 by tonight, and 4 more by this weekend. Hopefully they will let us customize the weapon too. I want one of the BFG's from Matilija Aerospace mod on my buggy!
Yeah, I want a Scorpion.
@@Lyze Oh I would love that.
awesome work !
You, sir, are a saint and a gentleman. I'm going to grab that mod.
There are a few mods that are awesome for ship building. Ship Building Tweaks is one of them, Better Ship Parts Flips (lets you flip structural pieces in all directions) and Place Doors Yourself are the other 2 "must have" mods. Be careful with the Place Doors Yourself mod though, as you have to rebuild all your ships with doors.
I haven't even tried it yet because I'm waiting on the script extender .
You are still using script extender??? Nearly all new mods dont need that anymore! ESM files just work - with ALL updates!
@@arnograbner4741 Not every time but mostly it works yeah.
I just used the Ship Building Tweaks mod from the creation store. No script extender needed... but if you have other mods that rely on that, definitely best to wait.
Clickbait. It didn't break a mechanic. It fixed a bug.
So in other words…buggy
lol.. Nice
what command do you use to set the pieces in place with the ship building tweaks mod... (i tried space bar and flipping still nothing), i downloaded it and tried to place items back where i need them and it wont work...
I am not using commands. Just the Ship Building Tweaks mod. I did have to fully quit the game and restart after loading the mod to make sure it loaded, but after that it was fine.
@@TeamScorpioRI Thanks for the repy, the game was taking longer than normal to reload the mods, it finally loaded correctly, thanks for the suggestion of this mod.
I had a ton of mods installed on my XSX. Downloaded the update but my ability to interact/pickup objects and NPCs did not work. So I had to Start a new game with about half my mods activated. Took me a couple of tries to fix. We just need to accept that after every Bethesda update there's going to be bugs with mods. The Rover is awesome, though.
I was hearing that the Starfield Community Patch was causing all sorts of issues. Rover is cool, for about 10 minutes. It will be useless on some worlds though, especially heavily forested worlds.
So its a mini mass effect mako.
Pretty much
10 days? It's August guy.......the clip you posted said 9-30-24
Yeah.. My brain wasn't math'ing too well last night. See pinned comments for correction
Yeah, the only part of the game I've played for some time is ship building. I find the nonmerged ships ugly.
I'm done. Enjoy the future updates everyone.
The Ship Building Tweaks mod should let you blend parts.
@@TeamScorpioRI Thankyou! I just tried it. You still lose the flip merge and the copy merge, but the drop merge is better than nothing!
Honestly I don't see how you can be a dedicated builder and NOT use mods at this point, it just doesnt make sense. Can you imagine doing big building projects on minecraft without using tools like world edit, schematic mods etc. Not a thing.
So my take is either you're building very casually and don't care about a particular glitch being fixed, or you are spending a lot of time on your projects so you are using every useful mod you possibly can.
At the end of the day, relying on glitches always feelslike a bad solution to me (I hate that you need to exploit 10000 unintended glitches in NMS just to make basic shapes like a circle or properly align stuff for example). Its better when the base game supports it, or a functional/stable mod does.
I've started using mods in all my more recent builds. They do open up a whole new world for ship building. Almost everything we ever asked for in ship building is available though mods like "Place Doors Yourself" or "Better Ship Parts Flips".
Not surprised, Bethesda is being dumb and wating everyones life.
i'd like to play an official Fallout 5 or a new Elder Scrolls game before 2030
2026 for Elder Scrolls 6, as of right now. Though I wonder if Bethesda would push for a new Fallout game first to take advantage of the popularity of the TV series.
You can change the color I promise I was doing it earlier
I ended up figuring out what was wrong (mod conflict) I would try to color it, but it would just revert to the default color.
Why would the devs mess with the ship building it has been that way since the beginning as I can remember I have about 400 hrs in game over half in ship building and fly them just what I like to do but what you gonna do . Just have to run a mod at least it doesn't disable achievements at least on PC as long as you don't use a console command. Good video as usual
Its definitely a rough day for builders. I have been using mods for a while now (my Archangel was my last non-modded build) and they do make the ship building fun again.
I was able to color my vehicle in the same way I color my ships and I just made my first shift and I didn't have to glitch anything
I tried coloring my buggy, but it just ended up reverting back to the default color.
I don't think they should un-fix the bug, but I also don't think it would be a problem if they exposed the overlap tolerance to ingame settings.
Even if it's one of those 'makes the game easier, reduces XP' settings, or if it disabled achievements or something (Which would suck, but meh).
I agree. If they would have recognized that this technique was used widely by the ship building community, acknowledged it, and made the change to the .ini file to let us overlap by default. Then I think this would have been worth it.
Now so I know from experience I'm one of the best mod load order people on Consoles for skyrim, Fallout 4 and now starfield mods I running around 130 plus mods that work near perfectly, was using some payed mods but got rid of some of them because they started conflicting out of nowhere and shouldn't have, Mod Author was Tankgirl_444 I think could be 144.
Not familiar with her, but looking her up on Nexus it seems she does alot of weapon mods and outfits.
Thats really annoying I just started another NG+ on Sunday and hadn't built a ship yet.
Mods to the rescue then!
Thanks for the news update man. Liked. Hopefully you Ignore the hate in the comments.
lol. Thanks. I don't mind some healthy debate. Glitching has been a divided topic for a while now. This is just another bump in the road.
Well, the Varuun Dirge has obviously been constructed by the developers using glitches or something, and it remains in the game. However it would be impossible to build it with the current ship builder, because the Viking cockpit doesn't allow to have any parts below it (except guns). So if you manage through mods to build a ship, which would otherwise be impossible, it should remain stable even after removing the mods, because Bethesda developers did the same.
The buggy looks nice, but on low-gravity worlds or world with forests, it's probably pointless. With low-gravity you can use your boost pack to travel and don't need a buggy, and with too much vegetation it might get difficult to maneuver.
The buggy is definitely a situational use. You are right that in some worlds its going to be useless. As for ship building, I understand the need to fix a bug (it may have caused issues in other areas behind the scenes, who knows) but I would have liked them to allow the blending by default. Simple change to the .ini file would have done it.
My space cowboy build would love some sorta bike.
I am hoping we get bikes... most likely a mod
my buggy wont spawn :(
If you are running mods, try deleting and reloading the community patch. I heard that was causing issues at first.
You make all ship. Easy
Tocolor the vehicle you go back to the vendor, AFTER buying it, and select view the vehicle. You will then see you have to press C to color it. As for the gliching, well that is a game exploite/bug. They where going to patch that out sooner or latter, which is why it's a good idea not to make that your main thing.
I tried to color it, and it didn't seem to change anything... As for glitching parts. It will be sad to see it go, but I think its just going to push more builders towards mods now.
They didn't break it. They fixed it, ya dingus.
I'm calling it broken. These techniques were widely accepted and even acknowledged by Bethesda (see the latest ship building challenge winner, and several of their own ingame ships) and the ship building community. Now they are not useable. So, its broken.
@@TeamScorpioRI I never used it because I assumed they would fix it eventually, which would presumably leave my ships glitched. 🤷
@@TonyBargeryour ships must look like doodoo. Ship glitching is literally essential to making anything that looks good.
Oh yay, have to download a mod that's only on the buggy creation club that i can only access after deleting a file on my computer, so that i can still make my ships look good.. lol
I actually have never had an issue with the creation club mods. I have a few of them and they generally work well (though some are underwhelming).
@@TeamScorpioRI so it's not actually the mods themselves, but the Creation club doesn't seem to play nice with Nexus mods, so my game will freeze up if I try to access the Creation club if I don't delete the Creation catalog txt file every time I access the creation club. Problem with that, it clears what mods I've already downloaded, so I'll have to redownload them to disable or update them and it causes all sorts of buggy issues.
@@JDS-Dalton Interesting. I have never used Nexus mods for Starfield (I did use them when playing BG3). I just go straight through the creation club. I figured that was a little more "fair" when doing ship builds as Xbox players cannot get Nexus. Hopefully they find a way to make them play nice together for you.
@@TeamScorpioRI Well, looks like the update fixed that issue haha, it's now properly showing what creations I have downloaded, and doesn't freeze up my game.
"Breaks a ship building mechanic"? More like FIXES a bug!
How many ships did you build so far?
I understand the need to fix a bug. It may have been causing some other issues in another part of the game, or with the buggy (which is why it got patched out now). But, ship builders now lose a valuable tool, and one widely embraced by the majority of the ship building community, in creating new ship designs. Now if the fixed the bug, but then changed the settings to allow us to overlap pieces without the need for mods, I think this change would be welcome. But it is what it is.
@@TeamScorpioRI Its not a tool if Bethesda never intended it to be a feature in the first place provided by the developers. You guys made it a feature because we think it should be a feature, but Bethesda never intended it to be that way.
@@Finger112 Just because something is not intended, doesn't necessarily mean it should be discounted. You are correct in that the ship building community accepted this as a feature for ship building. I don't think it would be unreasonable for a company to listen to the community. Now, if there was another reason for fixing this (they needed to patch it to fix a different issue) then fair enough. I would be nice if they communicated that. As of right now it seems like "Hey everyone, you know that thing you do that helps you make your ships look great? Well, we took that away".
Your right bethesda better fix it, it would also seem since payed mods aren't getting the traction bethesda wanted, they've started targeting there bread and butter Fans!! To get them buy mods, my Advice do not buy mods, bad very bad work on Bethesda part as usual, and well known mod Authors screwing there payed work up and some times it's all on Bethesda themselves for not fixing there sh**
The mods I see that actually cost points are very underwhelming. I did buy the Crimson Fleet Habs mod to try it for a video and was like "meh". Also we had that Maritime Hab mod that was literally ONE hab for like $5. Now compare those to something like Matilija Aerospace (which is free). Matilija offers so much more value for ship building than all of the paid ship mods combined.
I know personally, I an picky at what I use for mods. If I am going to pay for a mod, it needs to be impressive

I did download the M Class Unlocked mod, but the parts are a little rough to work with. I prefer the Ship Building Tweaks mod (same thing, but just without unlocking the M Class parts)... though that M-Class shield generator is just GODLY! 7800 health to start!
Ship building tweaks doesnt work for me and i put it at the very bottom fuck my life rn
The other one to try is Ship Part Merging Enabled. This one was developed after this video was released and apparently does not need to be anywhere in particular in the load order.

@@TeamScorpioRI Yeah but mods have problems too after each update. Had to deactivate four mods now.
@@falkenherz1708 This is true. I would rather a lot of the features that modders give us be implemented into the game itself. Especially things that should have been there since the beginning like "Better Ship Parts Flips", "Empty 1x1 Habs", and "Place Doors Yourself". If modders can do it, no reason for Bethesda not to.
It wouldn't be normal if something didn't get broken with an update 😂😂
Right?? Except thus was an intentional change
It's not a break, it's actually fixing a break xD
They broke NOTHING with this update - they fixed some of the shipbuilding stuff!
@@TeamScorpioRIdude they didn't break anything they actually fixed a glitch stop crying like a little girl
@@hannesnel5414 No its not.
We just need someone to mod in some more vehicles. The Mako maybe or the Ripsaw EV2.
Oh I bet modders are working overnight to see who is the first one out with a mod for this
Dude, all they did was FIX THE GAME!!! You're so toxic. You know some people will just read your title and not watch the video, and just spread misinformation.
No they did not.
First time anyone has called me "toxic" for expressing my option on things and creating a title that gets views. Nice. I guess I am a real UA-camr now! lol
Hes right, stop being so offended over starfield
That’s a ridiculous take. They changed a ship building method that ENABLED creativity. Taking it away kills a very important feature for many players.
Poor research. Inaccurate information. Poor journalism.
Thank you for your feedback
How so?
Now, this game is dead
Hopefully not. Someone already put out a mod reverting the change.
Bruh you can change color lol.
I tried. Made the buggy all black and it stayed the default color.
@@TeamScorpioRI did you press “done” or whatever
@@TheParagonIsDead It was a conflict with an unrelated mod. See pinned comments.
I’m on Xbox and it keeps asking me to press a to activate the buggy and it doesn’t work. I wonder why it doesn’t work for me.
Same
I'm on Xbox as well, it works just fine, maybe try doing a complete shut off and restart of the game itself?
@@polar3238 i’ve reset my Xbox about four times and it doesn’t work. I guess I need uninstall the game and reinstall it. That’s a pain in the ass cause then I have to install all my mods again.
Luckily you have a buggy in my game I CANT SPEAK TO THE SHIP VENDOR
I’m on Xbox series x and can’t leave the buggy once i enter it unless I fast travel somewhere
Damn, I'm happy I built my ship literally a day before the update. But now I'm sad as I was going to build another ship using the bug.
You need thr Ship Building Tweaks mod now... or if you are on PC you can change the .ini file to allow for it
@@TeamScorpioRI *nods* and I did want to thank you as I learned about the bug through your Vengeance mkIII build! Thank you for keeping us updated on starfield!
I don't give crap about a buggy...if ship building glitches are broken...I'm done....that is the best part in this game...and glitches made it great if it's gone...I'm through with this game...they better fix it.
I doubt they will. Mods will most likely be the standard from here on out.
A buggy that came with a update that has broken my game because they say to see a ship technician and I CAN'T SPEAK TO HIM
Weird. I have had a bunch of people say they have various issues with the buggy. Any mods running? One may be causing a conflict now (usually happens with any update)
Let me go ahead and shut off my mods ...smh true gaming is dead generation of no skill
I run a bunch of mods for ship building. Matilija Aerospace, Tiger Staryards, and AvonTech all add unique pieces to the builder. Better Ship Parts Flips lets you flip all the structural pieces in all directions (as they should have been from the beginning). And I have a couple that add in new decoration assets like the neon bar signs you see in the game and different decoration pieces. How does that equal "no skill"?
Glad they fixed the ship building glitch
I assume that's sarcasm.
No it's not and personally I don't like glitches @@TheRealBozz
Me too - this is, IMO, what mods are for.
@@demonletsplays So a glitch which you actively have to search for to experience it does bother you... oh my i'd like to have your worries.
The majority of the ship building community has embraced this "glitch" as a valid building technique, and has done so since the beginning. Even the winner of the latest ship building contest used these. I understand the need to fix a bug (and who knows, this could have been causing an issue somewhere else that we were not aware of), but what I would have liked to see is that they changed the default tolerances in the game to allow for such overlap, giving us freedom to design ships how we like.
So lets not pretend that this 'mechanic' was intended by Bethesda. It wasn’t so lets not be disingenous with the conversation yeah?
It was a glitch/bug that was present from the beginning. They just happened to fix it now.
If its really that much of a bother there are several mods that eliminate building requirements and errors for ship building that you can install.
You are not wrong, but it was a mechanic that was heavily used by the ship building community and actually Bethesda itself on a bunch of their in-game ships to complete their designs. Even the winner of their most recent ship building contest relied heavily on these mechanics.
Why does anyone one think Bethesda will make something that works 😂😂 I still get no audio when using mods
Not a problem that I've ever had , are you playing on console or PC ?
Weird I thought they’d fixed that
May be it is YOUR problem - not Bethesda?
Wrong load order? I play now the game more than 1.000 hours, use about 110 mods and everything works just fine! I NEVER had any problems, the game just works!
Weird. I have a bunch loaded and never had an issue with audio. I wonder if its a load order thing
@@arnograbner4741 nope there job to make a product that works especially if it there made mode that causes the issue
As long as the game is playable who gives a crap about glitching I rather them fix the game especially the invisible ship glitch then cry about this crap
There was a note about fixing a double ship bug. It said "Addressed an issue with modifying a landed non-home ship that could cause a duplicate ship model to appear on the landing pad"
You can change it's color
I sorted that out. See pinned comment
