- In 1877, with the creation of his phonograph complete,
Thomas Edison was known to have recorded his rendition of 'Mary Had a Little Lamb'.
In March 2008 a recording by Frenchman Edouard-Leon Scott de Martinville of a woman singing 'Au... Clair De La Lune' was discovered in an archive in Paris by a group of American audio historians.
The recording dates back to April 9, 1860 making it the world's first known recorded song.
This video has the original sample and the one I edited making it less noisy. ~fiazio

I thought the audio at the beginning was the song, and I was like "Wow. They made THIS in 1860?"
same
lol
They first played dubstep to Queen Victoria in 1879. A famous photograph was taken showing the Queen to be less than amused but lately controversy has arisen when somebody pointed out that her left foot can be seen rising from the ground (in what is assumed to be a tapping to the rhythm) and there is currently debate as to whether or not she secretly enjoyed the music but was attempting to uphold "Victorian values".
Wow. That is actually pretty interesting.
@Hoshi No Kaabii HAHAHA i did too. I was like WOW! LOL
No drugs, no twerking, no swearing, THIS is real music.
You bet
Yes with 1kbps audio lol

Plot twist: the recording was actually pretty good, whoever was singing it was just really bad at singing.

I wonder who ever made this and played it back and thought " wow, that's a hit!"

Actually, when this was made, it was impossible to be played back. It wasn't able to be played back until about 150 years later.
How was it recorded?
Maya Paredes it's was recorded using a device some guy invented to record soundwaves (i forgot his name), but it was never meant to be played back, but with today's technology we took the paper and mapped out the lines then made them into sound waves, and BOOM erie ass old song
