- The family lives at the very edge of the Patch community, the last homestead up the mountain trails, far passed even the hamlets that peter out from the main villages.
Signs on the dirt road let you know this is the last protected outpost, Beyond here is Grimm territory. This is a dangerous and remote place, but this is also a families home, a family of Hunters.
Tai's teaching role at Signal isn't purely academical, it also requires him to live on the outer. The academy together with the local militia operates a series of signal towers, these powerful beacons when active cast a beam towards the academy and serve as warnings to rally reinforcements, as even hunters can be overrun.
Living on the edge can have its advantages, the long daylight hours between night patrols allow for all manner of entertainment or relaxation, but only those that keep their skill sharp have the chance of living out the islands long and bitter winters when the Grimm try to descend on the valley below. But with the local treasury reimbursing those who take up this mantle the odd night shift with dad is a great way for a couple of huntresses in training to earn some cash.
Motorcycles and .50 cal ammunition isn't cheap
Loved the addition of the punching bag and the homemade firing range, some really smart and deliberate choices here.
This set gave me Slender the Arrival vibes for a second, that’s a good thing by the way.
Their home gives off a all-American sort of vibe, which feels appropriate for a veteran huntsmen like Ty.
The garage felt very much like it was mostly Yangs space, as her bike was holding the door open, her sandbag was inside and her tools could be seen. It shows her to be an experienced mechanic with a strong persona, pushing along the concept of her maintaining her mechanical arm, while not allowing the loss to keep her down.
Ruby’s space on the training ground looked like a decent training range that she probably built herself, possibly with Ty’s help. Since they have the land and space for it, and I imagine no neighbors for miles, it made sense for them to build their own shooting range for training.
The lighthouse felt like a good touch for their property that made their home feel like an outpost in the wilderness. Since Ty, Ruby and Yang are members of their towns militia, it makes the house feel like a lookout, sanctuary, or a quick response unit in an emergency.
Seriously, you keep getting it spot on... like eerily so.
From the all-american vibe, to the feeling of personal spaces and the exact history Rubys little shooting range, With it being a daddy daughter (and drunk uncle) project.
Either your extremely perspective and great at eliciting meaning from visuals or I'm the greatest low poly set designer ever... and I'm going to hazard a guess its not the second one :)
Thanks for your comment, made my day to see someone on the same wave length... even if you don't exist
@@ltfuller I play horror games with my sister, analyzing and studying environments is how you get the full story.
Ex. Little Nightmares/Layers of Fear/INSIDE/etc.
I feel that more games like RPG’s should do this, it gives more to the life of a universe and their characters.
The Persona series does this, and it adds layers to the characters when you see the rooms they start and end their day in.
Games like Pokémon and Old-School Final Fantasy and Phantasy Star would break my immersion with how unlived in all the houses were.
Sooooooo well done!
When people ask me why I still enjoy RWBY, no matter how good or bad the show may get, I always point them to this section of the fanbase. Not the crazed shippers, not the cynical critics, but the people who create stunning works of storytelling and art from the simple basics introduced in the early volumes. This was lovely to watch, and I hope to see more from you in the future, cheers mate!
Amazing
This is so good! I love the atmosphere and the colors and the training equipment were a nice touch. I also really liked Yang’s little shed area, so I basically loved everything! My only questions is what was that pole thing for?
My attempt at some storytelling, if you read the video description I wanted to expand the world of patch. I was going to do a voice over talking about how design can expand storytelling but i have a potato microphone.
In short it massive warning beacon, Tai and the girls live so remotely because they are a family of hunters and are apart of patches defense system. But even hunters can be overwhelmed and need help.
@@ltfuller | Oh that’s actually such a good idea! I love the creativity, keep up the great work.
I really like the details and extra bits not in the show that make it look a home, but isn't the land around their house completely flat and forested in all directions instead of boulders and small slopes? Also i'm assuming the rough lines you can see in some places when the camera pans, can be sorted with practice, software upgrade, additional software to help smooth textures, et cetera
other people might have story opinions and/or emotional observations along with the stuff i said because they're smart and insightful, but me on the other hand, i'm not sure at all if my remark about those lines with camera panning is right
Do you have a Twitter or a place u post your art for the Rwby rewrite video or just this channel
Idk How can I learn this program Clickteam fusion 2.5
This was made using a combination of 'google tilt brush' a VR 3d art program and 'Unity3d' a free 3d video game development software...
The 2d RWBY game 'RWBY fading light' was made on clickteam fusion and is more focused on simple 2d games. Fusion has a free version and you can find on UA-cam a whole host of tutorials to help you make a start.
@@ltfuller Thank you for help and thank you for advice.
