Sorry James! Been watching lots of downwind videos, and re-watched this one and saw the dims of the board. Man you make it look easy(which is far from the truth) and your videos inspire me to take this downwind journey!!
Thanks for the video! I'm enjoying the 1300 right now, like you say, it seems to be a great wing to learn to downwind on. Hopefully I can progress to some of those smaller wings in the future. Have tried paddling up the HPS1050 in flat water, and found it night and day different to 1300 / 1150 (Couldn't get it out of the water and didn't feel very close). In good bumps I got the HPS1050 up quite easily. Will keep working at it and also working on a longer, narrower, higher volume board which should help.
Nice work team Casey :) I agree that PNG1010 would probably fit between PNG1150 and HPS1050. I tested it between those two wings when stepping down sizes. PNG910 probably not a lot different to HPS1050 so can be skipped - plus it'll be slower. I've also banged on about the BSC for starting. I'd say the BSC1120 and BSC1060 are the easiest wings to paddle up - but they are quickly outgrown because they are even slower than PNG range. Great in the bay, maybe unusable in the ocean.
I find the PNG850 close to the ART1099 as well, not as fast though. BSC for the lack of glide I did not include. For downwind all the PNG are superior over BSC in my opinion but that’s just me 🤷🏽♂️
Fantastic video! Could you share your thoughts on the Short Advance fuselage vs the regular Short fuselage for flat water pumping and down winding in particular with the 1300 front wing?
Having watched both videos, is it safe to assume that the BSC 1120 is the easiest to paddle up? Still struggling with the 1310 so probably time to invest in a paddle clinic with the maestro!
Hi James, been eyeballing the 1300 to put under my soon too arrive Aviator DW elite 7'6. Which stab + fuse do you recommend for a beginner dw supfoiler (experienced wingfoiler) on big lake windbumps? Cheers, Coen
Hi. Great video. Slightly off topic but no harm asking the expert right. I'm loving the 1099 and 999 + 420 rear for winging, but was thinking of trying a PNG 910B for more surfy feel when riding bay swells. Is that a good idea as a compliment in my quiver to using the ART for winging? Thanks. PS: Never do paddling or downwind (except with the wing - 85kg weight).
Hi, great overview. I am on 1150 still not able to take off with 7'6x20" just start feeling pressure on foil sometimes. Move to 1310 how big is the difference in term of power needed in the strokes? You can take off with less paddle strokes but you have huge power in your strokes and legs and I am not 😞I mean is it a big change in power need or just same power but for less time? Thanks
Not a huge difference between 1150 and 1310 but if you can’t get up and you’ve tried everything could be worth pulling the trigger and going for there big brother foil. More gains can be made in paddle and pump technique and timing in my opinion. Cheaper too
Same length fuse for all the Short Advanced. All the gear is getting a bit dated now though. New front wings fuses and tails now plus a new brand in Code Foils ;)
Thanks for the great video James. Nice to see your lovely family too! Cheers.
Terrific expert side-by-side comparison. So valuable. Great video. Thanks heaps!!

Thanks for the video James and Family! That was awesome. Glad I'm starting off with the 1300. Feel like its the right foil for me!
It's great with the HM mast, a bit wobbly with the ally mast
Brilliant vid, so many good tips and data points 👍
Love this one as well. Thank you for the run through. 😀😀
Awesome Jim! 👌👌

Great to see your family! Thanks for the informative video!
Were you on the 75 cm mast?
yes 75cm HM mast

Great Video!
Are you able to do the same test with a weight vest on, up to 95kgs. But you may need flotation 😅.
All the heavy guys would love to see.
That's a good idea! I'd only need a 10kg weight vest, I'm 85kg.
Yes, please do this at 95k, plus add 40 years somehow.

Great info.Watched the whole thing. Happy family!
Looks like sailplane is the answer - long and thin.
Best lift, lowest drag, big speed envelope.
Thanks James

460 high aspect for flat water and progressive 350/375 for the bumps. If you want only one of these the progressive 375 might be the one.

PNG910 would be great for slower bumps for sure
Im 60kg and beginner, would you suggest 100 or 110 lt for downwind board? In zero wave and zero wind condition for sup foil. Thank you!

@@jamescasey7393 Thanks. If also in Italy we could have clinics like your it would be the better investment

Is that a black short advanced or ultra short adv? I don't see the short adv available yet?
Is there a rule of thumb for paddle height?
what size board is that one ?
Are those advance fuselages?
What size and model is your board?
For me the 1150 is easier to get going into free pumping than the 1310. Did not like the 1310 compared to the 1150
What's the board info you're using? Cheers
WICH FUSEKAGE WITH 1310 and 1150 ?

haha
Hey James what is your height and weight? 95l is no way enough to float my ass!
Hi Fraser, I'm 178cm and around 83-85kg
