    I found it funny when you yelled "FOCUS" at the camera because I found myself sort of daydreaming at the time thinking of my own VW. I kind of felt like I was in trouble for not paying attention for a second until I realized you were talking to the camera. That was awesome! Thank you Marci! I'm no one to pass judgement good or bad but I think you're doing great work here. I'm positive Pickle will see the highway again soon!

    Today is the first time me and my 87 years old mother viewed and learned of you and your talent. Always nice to see and hear building perspective from young people. I have been viewing and fantasizing over VW buses the last two weeks and your video comes as a recommendation. Very nice that it did. I will fantasize me and mom won the bus. A big kick to see 87 mom with 61 years old daughter kicking it together in this. Then the hard part will be fantasizing her to ride in it on that day. Keep rocking it out.

    Marci The only thing I would have done is put the ebrake tubes in there before you weld in those square tubes down. it will be really hard to drill those in the side after they are welded. I also use the inner rockers to make sure they stay in line. but the square tubes work great I also used 1.5 x 3 to make the outriggers. just cut them at an angle. works great. Get some cheap ass jack points from bus depot.

    • @marcijunebug
      @marcijunebug  2 роки тому

      On the older buses the tubes were just welded to the bottom of the I-beams, so I plan to treat it the same way. Thanks for the feedback on the other pieces! Appreciate it!

    If and when Pickle rolls again, will the restored vehicle be close to it’s original weight at the time it was initially assembled in Germany?
    If it is say 500 lbs heavier as a restoration, will there be an indication for another class of tire?
    I am clueless about the physical features of a 1958 VW Bus, but I assume that the original front wheel bearings on the bus were ball bearings. If you were to find a way to replace these ball bearings with roller bearings, and say, perform other upgrades to the 1958 bus, could it be legitimately classified as a vintage vehicle when such upgrades and restoration is completed?
    I am thinking about licensing matters for a restored vehicle in Indiana.

      Indiana is fairly relaxed when it comes to such matters and we aren't an inspection state so there should be no issues with making any changes I want to make. I think if there are any differences in weight they will be negligible...funny you mentioned that though because I DO plan to go do a weigh in after its all completed! Thanks for stopping in!

    I've watched a lot of your videos and it's nice to see there are other women that works on everything like I do. I don't see how you wear a skirt doing it. My legs would get tore up. 😫 does your husband not ever help you do any work ? I'm sure some one has asked this before .

      Well if I don't do it, no one else around here will! lol My husband didn't grow up around "wrenching" so he isn't much of a tinkerer at heart like I am...he likes to drive the old cars and loves old vintage stuff but his area of expertise is wood working and construction so we make a pretty good team! The skirts allow for WAY better movement and are much cooler in the hot humid summers here in Indiana! ha ! thanks for following along on all the projects! catch ya on the next one!
