    The Super73 S2 is a motorized two wheel machine that strikes a balance between an electric bike and an electric motorcycle. But is that actually a good thing? Today, let’s find out. We’ll look at the features, the specs, ride it in the city, ride it on some trails, and find out what’s good and what’s not!

    I love the addition of e-bike reviews to Hello Road! Would love to see you do some additional mobility reviews too. Things like Electric Hand-cycles that attach to wheelchairs and make life easier for folks with mobility issues are SO COOL.

    Loving the direction and evolution of the channel so far. It seems super thoughtful, fun, and authentic to you. This is the type of content you seem to shine at producing! Can't wait to see how you continue and evolve it in the near future. Granted, I'm sure there are some privacy concerns, but it would be awesome to see some more in depth "mobility experiments" using various mixes of transportation methods (cars, ebikes, walking, and public transit mixes in different combos) in curcumstances that apply to the needs/patterns your daily life and maybe even the lives of other people you know/connect with. I would love to see stats on health, safety, cost, and even just relative enjoyment scores or something similar. How can a family share one car? How to configure a ebike/bike to optimize for grocery shopping. Doing something like an Ikea trip with some sort of transportation alternative. Just some ideas. I find car-oriented, but transitioning suburban environments such as the types of LA suburbs you seem to inhabit from your videos really interesting in how they are changing, but also how we can learn to behave differently in those types of environments. It's something that is essential and applicable to more North Americans, as most do not live in New York, San Francisco, and other truly walkable urban environments their entire lives. Neither do they typically live in truly car-dependent environments either. A lot of places exist in between that continuum. Really cool bike, btw! Love the design, and looks way more fun than most of the affordable and practical car alternatives!

    What do you think of the Super73 S2? Also, correction: this bike is 73 lbs, not 84 lbs. Clarification: This is technically a Class 2 bike. Super73 refers to their modes as classes, which might cause confusion. Super73 states "class 3" and "unlimited" modes are for off-road use only.

    I'd very much like to see more e-bike and varietal stuff. A lot of the reviews out there come from a place of lots of experience, and often living in places where, frankly, drivers are more sane than down here in SoCal. It's also really good to see practical usage of alternative mobility options from someone who hasn't hard-committed; seeing you pick the e-bike to go get groceries or something, when you *could* just hop in a car because you still *have* (more than) one, makes it seem easier and more sensible. Keep it up!

    I like the addition of e-bike reviews! I'm looking to ditch my car and these alternatives are quite interesting to me.

    I luckily own the S2 (mine came with an electric horn and I added a 10 speed gear) and the Z1 and boy…they are gorgeous! Fun to ride fun to have! Everyone stops me each time I’m riding lol like : “what is this a motorcycle? It’s so different”
    It’s just so unique and niche!
    Love it! ⚡️7️⃣3️⃣❤️

    As you pivot to cover more than just ICE automotive content, I think the additional effort to put in explanations for things your viewers may not be as familiar with, i.e. e-bike classing, is going to be worth the time investment to plan, shoot, edit, and include. This review actually covered some factors I haven't seen in other Super73 reviews and thus it has me excited for your future content. UA-cam's content prioritization for creators with your follower count isn't helping, but I really enjoyed the presentation and the variety of shots you included. I hope you keep at it!

    Great review. I looked a the Super73 line but wound up going with the Ride1Up Revvv which I love. I would be interested on you take on that one.

    Definitely more e-bike reviews. I intend to get one sometime next year! This one looks fun, but I do think I still want something a little closer to a regular bike than a motorbike...but what do I know? I've never ridden any of the e-bikes out there!

    I LOVE this style of e-bike. Super73 is what got me interested in finding out more about e-bikes, but I ended up with a far cheaper, but better equipped Rize e-bike with a similar cafe racer style. I ride it all the time.

    Priority and Ride1Up makes great bikes too. Ideal setup would be mid-drive with belt. Cargo bike reviews in future perhaps?

    Great video! I've been very curious about these types of e-bike-ish things. As someone who rides a lot the lack of height adjustment and odd pedal / seat position always made it clear to me it would not work well as a pedal bike. The pedals as you say are really there to qualify it as an e-bike rather than to be very useful. That said, it's versatility as a light motorcycle does seem really interesting and like it has niche to fill for various mobility needs. It kind of makes me think there should be a new class of electric vehicle, like a light electric motorbike that can stop pretending to be a bicycle, but have limited enough power/speed so it can still have less restrictions like an e-bike. Anyway, great video!! :)

    I don't plan to buy an e-bike because I can get around with a bike, public transit, and a car once in a while, but if I were in the market for one, I'd like to hear your review.

    Does the battery pack detach - for indoor charging ? The ride looks/sounds pretty bumpy. What are those upgrade prices ? Variety, in content, is fine with me.

    • @HelloRoad

      Yes battery does detach! Ride is pretty good in most situations, just have to watch out for really rough roads!

    Im not spending $2,895 for that pos I could easily build my own electric for under $1000 ffs my car cost $700 granted I fixed it so many other better things to get.

      @@p.informatico1320 Yeah I'll have a couple videos with my weird cars, and some friends' cars here and there. Road trips and race videos are a ton of fun but unfortunately those videos lose $$. The new car reviews are the only videos that pay the bills. So I hope to be able to do a mix of different types of vids.

    That is not at all how ebike classes work. Saying it is all of the classes is like saying a hayabusa is an M2/M1 motorcycle. Or like saying that you're allowed to drive a commercial bus with your class c license.

    • @HelloRoad
      @HelloRoad  7 місяців тому

      How would you improve my description of this bike?

    • @tkejlboom
      @tkejlboom 7 місяців тому

      @@HelloRoad class 3 is restricted the motor assist under 28mph. Since this can clearly exceed that, as defined by California DMV, this is closest to an electric moped. I say closet, since mopeds are classified as capable of less than 30mph, and this is apparently faster than that.

    • @HelloRoad
      @HelloRoad  7 місяців тому +2

      Yeah I wasn’t able to cram all of the nuances of e-bike laws into my quick description of the bike’s modes. To clarify, the bike has four modes that are generally designed to allow the bike to fit into e-bike classes. Class 1, top speed of 20mph (pedal assist only). Class 2, top speed of 20mph (pedal assist and throttle). Class 3, top speed of 28mph, and the Super73 defined “unlimited” mode which is allows approx 32mph. Super73 states Class 3 and Unlimited modes are for off-road/private property use only, however in CA Class 3 e-bikes seem to be allowed on public road bike lanes in CA. Not sure about other states.

    • @tkejlboom
      @tkejlboom 7 місяців тому

      @@HelloRoad Is it a mode or a model? If it's switchable a mode, that's not class system compliant. All Class 3 ebikes have lower power modes to optimize range. The mode doesn't change the class of the bike.

    • @tkejlboom
      @tkejlboom 7 місяців тому

      @@HelloRoad also, pedaling in the flats didn't seem very practical in the video. Class 3 is strictly assist. No throttle. Can you practically pedal that at 28mph?
