I haven’t tried their torque sensor bike yet so really can’t say but I’m very happy with the cadence sensor Ecells 5 star. It’s definitely one of my favorites!
Yes, it's a through axle! I believe from top to bottom with seat the lowest is 32 , 33 inches. Smaller 24 tires even less and they also have a step through.
They're working on changing the front axle over to through axle design. Some are still being delivered with the older skewers but if you ordered recently or today you can expect to be getting the new through axle design. I ordered late May and should receive mine mid-july soon. Hoping mine is a new one with the through axle...
I don’t have a problem getting on it but it is a big bike. I can see some people having a problem getting on it, It just depends what you’re capable of.
My idiot roommate weighs as much as a size 10 female...145lbs. He insists on level 10. Despite six warnings, first time on the Five Star, he lost control, pulled a wheelie and could have crashed. We all call him Crash Test Dummy.
It was Fahrenheit and I have not seen any thermal cutoff. Watch the newest video I posted with the ecells and you can see the performance and I mention the motor temperature in there a few times as well.
Great review, how would this compare side by side to the Aventon Adventure? I was sold on the Adventure until I came across your review of the five Star.
I was also sold on the adventure 2 for awhile until I watched a handful of videos on the wired freedom and saw one off of marketplace and ecells which drastically changed my mind on getting the adventure. Ive already purchased my freedom and I’m so excited to receive it this month!
@@JeremiahMcintosh and that’s why I’m getting the freedom! The ports just landed in LA so in the upcoming weeks or so they will be rolling these things out and getting shipped to buyers! Hopefully I can get mine within a week!

A friend of mine stopped up with his 2024 wired freedom (single battery version) and I couldn’t believe how much frame wobble there was from the rear suspension compared to the Ecells. I created a quick reel on Instagram about it showing the difference.
Jeremiah, nice informative review. Did you leave the tire diameter setting at 28" while you were making your high speed runs? Your phone GPS and the bike display seemed to be in sync. Also, where di you get the manual for the display? I just received my two Five Stars this week and only a limited manual came with each. Thx.
@@JeremiahMcintosh FYI: I ran my GPS phone speedometer app when riding Tuesday and the bike display was reading maybe 4-5% SLOW with the 28" tire setting. This was at steady speeds from 10 to 43 mph, so the 29" setting would result in an even slower reading. Yes, I found the full manual, thanks.
@melrobinson6919 after setting mine to 29” my odometer seemed perfectly accurate. Speedometer was pretty accurate also but I typically don’t look at the speed much and would prefer my odometer to be accurate.
@@JeremiahMcintosh Think I'll try another speedometer app on my phone. I've noticed the speedomter reading within Waze reads faster than the speedometer app while driving at 70. The odo and speedometer should be in sync no matter the tire diameter setting. I, too, want accurate readings. Happy trails...
I wonder if the Canadian bike companies that sell bikes will have price changes when shipping to USA? Such as Furious E Bike models from Canada.. Not sure about paying extra from Canada with their Chinese parts
So is your issue with 95% of E-bike parts being made in China or SE Asia (because we are incapable now without a large enough manufacturing base) or that our government bi-partisanly deciding American consumers need to spend more on anything electric vehicle related built in china for Americans. Any EV vehicle originating in china and coming here is going to be unreasonably taxed no matter what border it is they cross, just have to be ready to pay up or do without the bike.
@psavar97 just curious as to the new import duty and if it includes e bikes shipped from Canada. Because Canada isn't being charged an extra $500 for Chinese bikes at the 2k price range.
Don't expect good customer service from Wired eBikes. I didn't receive $1091.47 worth of accessories for Wired Freedom, and guess what? The owner Steven and his dunce side chick didn't care, even a little bit. Just sarcastic responses in chat and emails. Beware and think twice before doing business with them.
The only difference between these two is wire freedom 45 amps and I heard it isn’t even cover in warranty for the factory motors. I could be wrong but that concerns me for longevity of wired bikes including their thinner frames which is less appealing in quality.
It’s insane how long these bikes take to come ordered August 20 never received it. Ask for a refund 11 three didn’t receive that either ask for a refund today 11 eight partial payment issue through email -$314 down by get a wired
The stock bike with Black wheels would be $1895 with my coupon And if you add the front rack it would be $1995 if they have it in stock. I would call and see what they have available in stock because they said they also have some in stock with some upgrades already installed so you might be able to get the same bike with the gold wheels if you want. If you do call and order don’t forget to use my coupon code to save $100 and if my review was helpful for you please mention it. Thank you.
Really, if you need to do more that 38 mph on two wheels, just go ahead and buy a motorcycle. If you run any of these ebikes exceptionally hard you're going to destroy your battery range. Nick, from 'E-Cells,' did a demo ride to see what range he could get out of the 'Dual Star' I believe it was. By riding very conservatively and what looked to be on mostly level terrain, he got 122+ miles! Ride it hard, and in an area with lots of hills, and you can easily cut that by two-thirds or more. This is obviously an impressive machine, but E-Cells also sells an amazing 3000-watt AWD 'Triple Crown' model that has dual 1,500-watt motors, 9-Levels of PAS, a 10-speed Shimano Deore cassette sprocket, 4-piston hydraulic brakes as this guy mentioned, 220 mm rotors, and other high-level components. It comes with a hefty price though, of course.
That is because the owner of Wired e-bikes, Stevie Goldman, copied the E-Cells Monarch Frame. He Failed at his first two attempts at building e-bikes. To cover up his failures he has changed the name of his company twice.
This bike reminds me of the Apple Store , you wanna buy a MacBook Pro , starts at 1500 and you add features you end up paying over 4000. they keep good features from the bike to lure you to click on add and add ... you start drooling . nice trick .
Mr. Dino, You are soooo Wrong. The Basic 5 Star comes standard with Great Features. Not All Consumers have the same needs. If you do more off road riding for can beef up the front and back suspension. You can add beefier off road tires. E-Cells offers upgraded options so you can build a custom bike to your needs. Most E-bike companies do not offer options. Your choice.
Why does it take so long for Ecells Ebike to send out anything you order don’t they realize that their customers base is old as hell and will probably die any day we are tied of waiting for stuff that we have ordered 🤬
The problem with this e-bike is that it is potentially not safe because of its top speed. As a life long bicyclist, I am not sure of how safe it is to be going 40 mph without wearing gear like motorcyclists do.
nice bike but lets talk e-bike laws for a moment Boooo federal law and most state laws state no e-bike on the road with a motor over 750 watts period if you are stopped with an e-bie love 750 watts you are I guess screwed sorry
Do you have one and know first hand how it performs? I’ve seen some people post on the Ecells Facebook forum saying they are happy with their torque sensor after changing a few settings. I’m sure eventually there will be some videos about it but this is why I never speculate until I test things first hand. Personally I’m very happy with the cadence sensor but haven’t tested the torque sensor so I can’t really say which one I would like better.
I have actually tried a Wired prototype with a torque sensor on this KT controller and it sucked. I’m not affiliated with Wired except I’m a customer and happen to live a mile from Steve and have had the opportunity to ride multiple prototypes. E cells proposed solution is to nerf the bike which kinda of defeats the purpose of buying a high powered bike. It just shows that e cells is smoke any mirrors and haven’t tested any of its new models or upgrades. Anyone who has tried a good torque sensor will be sending the e cell back.
The new Wired bikes blow this copycat out of the water for hundreds less. 3200 watts vs 2200 watts peak and comes with dual batteries and a true thru axle fork. The Wired bikes are 4-5 mph faster and easily outperform the e cells on hills and acceleration. The Wired Cruiser is $1999 plus shipping vs the e cells step thru with dual batteries currently at $2900. Also, e cells was a tiny little company that sold very few bikes and are now overwhelmed and imploding from trying to deliver on their inefficient customization strategy, not to mention the fact that e cells has a F rating from the BBB and the owner has a checkered past. Throw in a fake influencer (not you) who buys subscriptions and claims to have 101k subs on only 680k views who has been slandering and trolling Wired for months, and you have one really stanky company with a overpriced and underpowered competitor to the Wired Bikes.
The reason I went with cells was because of the owner. He's out and in front. He is confident in his product and putting his face behind it. I came oh so close to pulling the trigger on a wired bike, but for whatever reason I didn't. I join the ecells fb group and David is beyond into bikes. He lives and breathes it. I feel like that's the difference between the 2 companies. If I have a problem(and I've already asked a couple questions and I haven't Even received my bike yet) I can easily contact David and he responds almost immediately. I couldn't even tell who who owns wired. Does anyone know? Because of that, I just don't trust the warranty or anything, especially after I read hentachi will void the warranty if you go over 40amps. I mean is wired going to provide new motors if they burn up? Idk man. I've purchased dud products and you're screwed sometimes if you didn't buy them from a reputable place... Like I love Amazon for easy returns. You do you, the extra power will be nice, but I do want something that lasts and the comfort of Knowing the ecells owner is so easy to get ahold of and the community is pretty great

Answer to your Wired ownership question. The owners of Wired e-bikes are Chicago liberals. One a lawyer and the other a realtor. They decided to pool their money and flim-flam customers in the e-bike business. Hence their weak warrantee and charging for shipping, tax, and insurance. Good luck trying to get a lawyer to live up to his warrantee!!!

Have you tried the Torque Censor? what are your thoughts on E-Cells Torque vs Caden ?
I haven’t tried their torque sensor bike yet so really can’t say but I’m very happy with the cadence sensor Ecells 5 star. It’s definitely one of my favorites!
where can i get the manual for the screen settings?
You can get it directly from their website under videos and manuals.
Nice review...thank you! What is the seat post size (circumference) on the Five Star? Is the front wheel a through axle?
Yes, it's a through axle! I believe from top to bottom with seat the lowest is 32 , 33 inches. Smaller 24 tires even less and they also have a step through.
The seatpost is 31.8mm and no it is not a through axle.
They're working on changing the front axle over to through axle design. Some are still being delivered with the older skewers but if you ordered recently or today you can expect to be getting the new through axle design. I ordered late May and should receive mine mid-july soon. Hoping mine is a new one with the through axle...
So they charge a $300 tariff that hasnt actually been passed?
Great review, I'm same inseam and height as you. Did you find it difficult to get on and off the bike.
I’m 290 lbs. How long in this 19.5 ah battery? I’m interested in purchase but concerned I may be too heavy
You mentioned 200+ motor temp. Was that F or C? What range of motor temps do you see on normal use? Have you hit any thermal cut-off?
It was Fahrenheit and I have not seen any thermal cutoff. Watch the newest video I posted with the ecells and you can see the performance and I mention the motor temperature in there a few times as well.
Awesome video Jeremiah . Is it faster than h6max uphill?
I believe so maybe that’s a test I’ll do in the future!
There is no comparison in performance between the 2. This bike is way more powerful, faster, and will travel further!
@@JeremiahMcintosh and that’s why I’m getting the freedom! The ports just landed in LA so in the upcoming weeks or so they will be rolling these things out and getting shipped to buyers! Hopefully I can get mine within a week!
How does this compair to the wired freedom. Thats a big question to me cause I believe the freedom is faster
@@michaeldavis6550 well yea you could say that but I’d say they both go faster than we probably need but overall there gonna take you up hills way easier and faster compared to a ton of 48V systems
Ecells Five Star is the best bike of 2024 - doesn't fall apart on you like wired freedom, and the customer support is second to none
A friend of mine stopped up with his 2024 wired freedom (single battery version) and I couldn’t believe how much frame wobble there was from the rear suspension compared to the Ecells. I created a quick reel on Instagram about it showing the difference.
Always show the differences and the "bad parts."
What tool did you use to adjust your head lamps that way?
What is the length of the chain being that size front ring? How many links?
What size frame is this bike ?
Do you have the upgraded torque sensor? If you mentioned it in the video, I missed it. Thanks.
No it’s the stock bike with cadence sensor. The only upgrade is the gold rims.
@@JeremiahMcintosh how does the cadence sensor feel? Is it a smooth transition from one power setting to another or is it jerky?
Jeremiah, nice informative review. Did you leave the tire diameter setting at 28" while you were making your high speed runs? Your phone GPS and the bike display seemed to be in sync. Also, where di you get the manual for the display? I just received my two Five Stars this week and only a limited manual came with each. Thx.
The Tire setting should be set to 29”. The full manual can be found on their website under the help section.
Mars has derailleur guard, has already saved me once!
Do you have any experience with Fabulous/Furious e-bikes?
Sorry, I do not but hopefully I can in the future.
@@773Chicagothinner frames? Where can I find this information?
How do you make it show the temperature for the motor?
You have to set the C8 setting to 1
Thanks
It’s insane how long these bikes take to come ordered August 20 never received it. Ask for a refund 11 three didn’t receive that either ask for a refund today 11 eight partial payment issue through email -$314 down by get a wired
What is the mileage
Saw another video, the guy rolled full out in LA for 25 miles one batter,....before he changed out to his second batt
How tall are you? Is this a 17 inch frame or 19 inch? please let me know.
Does the stock E-cell Five Star come as your showing with the front and back basket for $1,999?
The stock bike with Black wheels would be $1895 with my coupon And if you add the front rack it would be $1995 if they have it in stock. I would call and see what they have available in stock because they said they also have some in stock with some upgrades already installed so you might be able to get the same bike with the gold wheels if you want. If you do call and order don’t forget to use my coupon code to save $100 and if my review was helpful for you please mention it. Thank you.
I just received 2 bikes that I ordered April 20 n they came with basket's 4 1895 each
@richardberwager6785 Yes originally the front basket was included but now it’s a $99 upgrade.
what is the app on your phone for gps?
It’s just called speedometer.
What is your hight Jeremiah?
I’m almost 5’ 8”
is this the glossy black frame color?
Yes it is.
@@JeremiahMcintosh i really hope someone gets the matt black color with gold rims
It comes with a hefty price though, of course.
im ordering one tmrw
how tall are you for a reference I'm 5,6
Im almost 5’8” with a 30” inseam. Definitely go with the 17” frame.
Don’t forget to use my link and code JEM100 to save $100!
@@JeremiahMcintosh How long does the battery last going over 25?
Better than wired.
It looks very similar to the Wired Freedom
That is because the owner of Wired e-bikes, Stevie Goldman, copied the E-Cells Monarch Frame. He Failed at his first two attempts at building e-bikes. To cover up his failures he has changed the name of his company twice.
This bike reminds me of the Apple Store , you wanna buy a MacBook Pro , starts at 1500 and you add features you end up paying over 4000. they keep good features from the bike to lure you to click on add and add ... you start drooling . nice trick .
Mine is all stock except for the gold rims so no need to really upgrade for most people and you’ll still get an awesome bike!
Still no bike 75 days later order 8-20
What options did you choose? It’s well worth the wait tho.
7:57 ya my wife either 😅
Wearing wallabies riding a bike 😂
I had to give a like and sub for that alone
Why does it take so long for Ecells Ebike to send out anything you order don’t they realize that their customers base is old as hell and will probably die any day we are tied of waiting for stuff that we have ordered 🤬
What did you order and when?
Fat boy Ebike I am 540 lbs can I take that hill 🧌
The problem with this e-bike is that it is potentially not safe because of its top speed. As a life long bicyclist, I am not sure of how safe it is to be going 40 mph without wearing gear like motorcyclists do.
Can't you just wear gear like motorcyclists do then? Safety is up to the user. Some like to risk their lives and some don't.
You don’t have to go that fast and where I live slow bikes are the safety hazard I can’t wait to get one
If you’re a puss just ride it like a puss. I ride mine top speed all day on dirt trails with rocks no problem
nice bike but lets talk e-bike laws for a moment Boooo federal law and most state laws state no e-bike on the road with a motor over 750 watts period if you are stopped with an e-bie love 750 watts you are I guess screwed sorry
That bike is too big
Not a bike
E cells torque sensor is a massive fail.
The Fly Guy is the Bitter Owner of Wired Freedom e-bikes. His phone is Not ringing so he trolls comments to Bad Mouth E-Cells.
@user-ht3hm9ng8s But i see you're comments everywhere doing the same thing 😂
Scam. Payed add
😂 I was not paid and how is it a scam when seeing it for yourself doesn’t lie.
Are you not seeing what I’m seeing 😂
You are the reason ebikes are being banned.
You do you, the extra power will be nice, but I do want something that lasts and the comfort of Knowing the ecells owner is so easy to get ahold of and the community is pretty great
I wouldn't call it a copy. Ecells has been using this frame before Wired was even in business.
The Fly is a Deranged Liberal who will lie, steal, and cheat to attain his goal. He cannot provide facts for anything he claims.
I feel sorry for him. He doesn’t know how to act in public and doesn’t have any friends. We need to Pray for him.
The Wired Bike should come with a Fire Extinguisher!!!
