    Jeremiah,
    I have watched a lot of reviews. You did a fine job. You should mention which part of the country you live. It helps. I will be attending the Electrify Expo in Long Beach on June 1 and 2. I am looking forward to meeting David and The Crew, and testing E-Cells full line of E-bikes.
    I ordered Two 5 Stars with 7 Upgraded Options that should arrive in late June-early July. Looking forward to their arrival.
    Be Safe and Enjoy The Ride!!

The Cobra's top speed up the hill was 13mph, the 5 Star top speed was 19mph on the same hill. Most people wouldn't believe that a 1000w mid drive would be slower up a hill that a hub motor bike.

    I always stress myself out whenever I’m about to buy something that costs as much as this bike, and I’ve been stressing like never before about which bike to buy now that i finally have enough money saved to buy this particular bike, and I’m only $100 or so short of being able to purchase the new wired freedom or cruiser.
    I wanted a wired freedom about a year ago whenever I ended up purchasing a buddies onyx cty2, which is also a 60v bike. It was damn near brand new, and didn’t even have 1 mile on it yet! Anyways, as much as I loved that bike and still do, especially considering it tops out at 54 miles an hour, i just couldn’t help but wonder what it would’ve been like if I would’ve stuck with buying the wired freedom that I had long been looking forward to buying whenever I bought the CTY2.
    I only bought the onyx because I couldn’t wait the 3 months that wired was making people wait before finally shipping people their bike which they’d already paid for! Now, I’ve been looking forward to buying the wired freedom once again, and now that I’m almost able to pull the trigger baby I’m questioning whether I should buy the five star instead.
    Yes, I know the motor on the five star isn’t as powerful and it only comes with a 20ah battery instead of the combines 35ah batteries that the wired freedom now offers, and the that’s all I’ve been thinking about. That and the subconscious belief that somehow the wired freedom isn’t built nearly as well as the ecells five star.
    So I would hate to have to buy a less powerful bike for almost the same money, but I would also hate for my fears about the wired bikes poor quality to be realized whenever I could’ve simply chose the ecells bike.
    It’s so stressful trying to decide which one to buy!
    It’s been so stressful, that I’ve even begun to consider whether I should just save half of that money and use the other half to upgrade the battery on my CTY2! Hell, for $2000 I could literally buy a 45AH battery and for just another $300-$350 I could afford to upgrade the direct drive rear hub motor from the 6000W that it has now, to a QS 205 direct drive hub motor that literally tops out at nearly 20kw!!
    Unfortunately though, I just know damn good and well that if I don’t buy the wired freedom or at least the bike which looks just like it (the five star) then I’m never going to live down the fact that I could’ve had that bike (the wired freedom) and made the mistake of not getting it whenever I had my chance!
    As pathetic as this sounds, I really just want an E bike UA-camr to just tell me which of the two bikes I should freaking buy, rather than try to manipulate me and the rest of their audience into purchasing a bike through their affiliate so that they make money off of both bikes, no matter which one they genuinely like the most. It also confuses the hell out of me why everybody went from loving the wired freedom when they had an affiliate link and then suddenly dropping them like a bad habit one day for whatever reason! Don’t get me wrong though, I almost despise the wired freedom fans! Dave at ecells has indeed been really nice to me every time I’ve talked to him on the phone. He at least seems like a genuinely great dude!
    Decisions decisions!

    • @jfly2249
      @jfly2249 7 місяців тому +3

      It does if you pay $800 more. Wired bikes come standard with a rack mounted 2nd battery and a thru axle fork for $1999. E cells is $2800 and $2900 for a similar bike but with 1000 watts less peak power. Wired bikes also have a thru axle and are being certified to full UL bike standards, not just the battery. Wired bikes are much safer, less expensive and much more powerful than the copycat. Game over.

    • @JeremiahMcintosh
      @JeremiahMcintosh  7 місяців тому +7

      @jfly2249 the Dual battery Five star (Dual Star) is $2695 shipped to your door after using my coupon code JEM100 and it comes with a dual crown air fork and big headlight which alone is a $300 upgrade, a 2 year warranty on the motor and batteries and a lifetime warranty on the frame vs 1 year with wired. Wired is $2,459 shipped to your door. Many may argue they are similar in price depending on how you look at it and only time will tell how they compare to each other once they are both shipped out. Now we will have to wait and see if Wired will raise the price because of the new ebike tariffs in June? If the tariffs don’t go into effect Ecells may lower the price back down. If wired raises their prices then it may be more than Ecells. Time will tell but I must say I love competition because it benefits the consumer!

    • @jfly2249
      @jfly2249 7 місяців тому

      @@JeremiahMcintoshAnd the step star is $2895 before discount code vs $1999. Btw, the e cells torque sensor doesn’t work, the KT controller is not designed for a torque sensor and the Gates drive option was always fiction. They have never seen their prototype step thru model in person and ftom the pictures, I can tell this will be another fail as there is no room for an adult sized foot to fit thru the step thru of their new and untested frame.

      The stock bike with Black wheels would be $1895 with my coupon And if you add the front rack it would be $1995 if they have it in stock. I would call and see what they have available in stock because they said they also have some in stock with some upgrades already installed so you might be able to get the same bike with the gold wheels if you want. If you do call and order don’t forget to use my coupon code to save $100 and if my review was helpful for you please mention it. Thank you.

    Really, if you need to do more that 38 mph on two wheels, just go ahead and buy a motorcycle. If you run any of these ebikes exceptionally hard you're going to destroy your battery range. Nick, from 'E-Cells,' did a demo ride to see what range he could get out of the 'Dual Star' I believe it was. By riding very conservatively and what looked to be on mostly level terrain, he got 122+ miles! Ride it hard, and in an area with lots of hills, and you can easily cut that by two-thirds or more.
    This is obviously an impressive machine, but E-Cells also sells an amazing 3000-watt AWD 'Triple Crown' model that has dual 1,500-watt motors, 9-Levels of PAS, a 10-speed Shimano Deore cassette sprocket, 4-piston hydraulic brakes as this guy mentioned, 220 mm rotors, and other high-level components. It comes with a hefty price though, of course.

      Mr. Dino, You are soooo Wrong. The Basic 5 Star comes standard with Great Features. Not All Consumers have the same needs. If you do more off road riding for can beef up the front and back suspension. You can add beefier off road tires. E-Cells offers upgraded options so you can build a custom bike to your needs. Most E-bike companies do not offer options. Your choice.

    E cells torque sensor is a massive fail.

    • @JeremiahMcintosh
      @JeremiahMcintosh  7 місяців тому +1

      Do you have one and know first hand how it performs? I’ve seen some people post on the Ecells Facebook forum saying they are happy with their torque sensor after changing a few settings. I’m sure eventually there will be some videos about it but this is why I never speculate until I test things first hand.
      Personally I’m very happy with the cadence sensor but haven’t tested the torque sensor so I can’t really say which one I would like better.

    • @jfly2249
      @jfly2249 7 місяців тому

      I have actually tried a Wired prototype with a torque sensor on this KT controller and it sucked. I’m not affiliated with Wired except I’m a customer and happen to live a mile from Steve and have had the opportunity to ride multiple prototypes. E cells proposed solution is to nerf the bike which kinda of defeats the purpose of buying a high powered bike. It just shows that e cells is smoke any mirrors and haven’t tested any of its new models or upgrades. Anyone who has tried a good torque sensor will be sending the e cell back.

    The new Wired bikes blow this copycat out of the water for hundreds less. 3200 watts vs 2200 watts peak and comes with dual batteries and a true thru axle fork. The Wired bikes are 4-5 mph faster and easily outperform the e cells on hills and acceleration. The Wired Cruiser is $1999 plus shipping vs the e cells step thru with dual batteries currently at $2900. Also, e cells was a tiny little company that sold very few bikes and are now overwhelmed and imploding from trying to deliver on their inefficient customization strategy, not to mention the fact that e cells has a F rating from the BBB and the owner has a checkered past. Throw in a fake influencer (not you) who buys subscriptions and claims to have 101k subs on only 680k views who has been slandering and trolling Wired for months, and you have one really stanky company with a overpriced and underpowered competitor to the Wired Bikes.

    • @johnstafford220

      The reason I went with cells was because of the owner. He's out and in front. He is confident in his product and putting his face behind it. I came oh so close to pulling the trigger on a wired bike, but for whatever reason I didn't. I join the ecells fb group and David is beyond into bikes. He lives and breathes it. I feel like that's the difference between the 2 companies. If I have a problem(and I've already asked a couple questions and I haven't Even received my bike yet) I can easily contact David and he responds almost immediately. I couldn't even tell who who owns wired. Does anyone know? Because of that, I just don't trust the warranty or anything, especially after I read hentachi will void the warranty if you go over 40amps. I mean is wired going to provide new motors if they burn up? Idk man. I've purchased dud products and you're screwed sometimes if you didn't buy them from a reputable place... Like I love Amazon for easy returns. You do you, the extra power will be nice, but I do want something that lasts and the comfort of Knowing the ecells owner is so easy to get ahold of and the community is pretty great

      Answer to your Wired ownership question. The owners of Wired e-bikes are Chicago liberals. One a lawyer and the other a realtor. They decided to pool their money and flim-flam customers in the e-bike business. Hence their weak warrantee and charging for shipping, tax, and insurance. Good luck trying to get a lawyer to live up to his warrantee!!!
