How to Sew or Install Zipper by hand (running back stitch)

- This video consists of two sections. The first will show you how to sew a zipper using running back stitch by hand. The second section will show you step by step on how I install the zipper to the fabric lining of my clutch handbag. (Please note that in the second part, I was using a sewing machine, but in the first part, it was done by hand :))

I was looking for a tutorial on hand sewing an invisible zipper to faux fur (long story lol) and I will be using this tutorial to try and use it for a costume project I'm gonna start tackling in a couple of months or so. I will be linking back to this once I have the project done and photos up.
I was actually working on a similar project and looking for the same tutorial. Did this work on the fur? I was worried the fur might get stuck On the zipper.
@@salsoteca72 sounds like you were both just working on a fursuit, so why not just search a fursuit zipper tutorial?
there are a couple for neck zippers and couple for bodysuit zippers, lol

omg, that is funny! this video was meant to help doing the "making up" for the purse, and the first part did show the method by hand, but the second part was showing how to continue making up for the purse. In the future, I would split the video into two to avoid the confusion 🩷

djmindy Hiya.. Sorry I am not sure what you mean by the zipper head facing outwards.. When you finish the process the zipper will be outside of the bag and it's not hidden :)

I'm watching this because im trying to figure out how to add zippers to my basketball shorts. Stuff keeps falling out of them. Isn't there a way i could glue them on though? It's just that i always end up stabbing myself with pins when i try to use them and it hurts :S :(
U can use glue but it will be more likely to fall off
I specifically am looking for instructions to hand sew a new zipper into my Coach bag. Then less than 2 minutes 30 seconds into this video you show the completed sewn side & say 'You used a sewing machine but that we will get same results by hand sewing-Well can you please show us because that's why we came to your video & the title seems to be falsely advertising something so please correct this
I hear you! The stich she showed can only be done using a sewing machine. The video title is misleading! Hand sown zipper will have one side like a machine stitch and the other side completely ugly.
But I found a video on leather stitching where you have to use two needles. I found it pretty cool and will use it to attach a zipper on my jeans jacket. I am giving the link for you to see. Go straight to 5:50 to see how it is done. Good luck to you and me :D

I know, silly me. Ur video is not that great u couldn't hear becuz it keep stopping and ur hands was in the way toward the end of the video I need to reduce ur video but I will say it helped threw one side but not the other side smh
