DARK FAIRY Halloween Makeup Tutorial

- This is an FX makeup tutorial on how to achieve this easy dark fairy look for Halloween. It goes over the sfx makeup , the glam makeup , as well as how to make the headdress and pointy ears. Whether you've never done special effects makeup before and you're just looking for a Halloween costume, or you've done SFX many times, anyone can do this look with a little instruction! So if you want to be a fairy, but you still want to be scary, you've come to the right place!

Products needed:
Liquid latex (or fx gelatin, or 3rd degree silicone if allergic to latex)
Any kind of cosmetic paints (I used water activated paints but you can also use cream paints, grease paints, eyeshadows, etc.)
Shimmery pigments and/or glitter (necessary evil)
Optional - If you want to make the ears the only extra thing you'll need is some wire and clear cling wrap. If you want to make the headdress you'll need a bunch of faux flowers from a craft store, duct tape, hot glue gun, and some kind of round base.

You can wash brushes and for anything that ruins the tools she uses disposable sponges
I am sure she has proffesional brushes which are hella expensive so she tries not to ruin them for every look :D

Do you think you could do a Sally glam and gore? I was thinking that the glam could be just the plain blue-skinned version and for the gore you could make the illusion of an arm missing and some stitches spilling open and hair torn out (since she's a ragdoll). Just an idea :) I really like you videos, by the way!

So latex rips hair out... And yes you said be careful around eyes but how do you keep it off of your lashes?
I have short lashes and my little caged dangling parts are kinda bubbled out if you look closely at the side view but just coat your lashes with petroleum jelly if you're worried!

Ps. Latex won't RIP your hair out. You can get it out with isopropyl myristate it's just time consuming, and a bit painful. Wouldn't recommend but if you find yourself in a bind, just know it's possible before you go chopping hair off or panicking!

I love that you made a scary fairy instead of the more popular version. Fea are terrifying creatures of myth and legend that brought both harm and good to man kind, and I feel like this is a truer representation of them than what is usually out there.

Mykie, I always love your videos! You have allowed me to be confident enough to do makeup for the student films at my school which has helped build my resume so much!
Suggestion: Would you ever consider doing Star Trek Alien makeup? Michael Westmore (whose daughter hosts Face-off and he was even hired by the CIA for his makeup) championed Star Trek prosthetics and made some INCREDIBLE looks (ex. Cardassians, Bajorans, Vorta, Klingon ridged foreheads) and I was thinking since this year is the 50th Anniversary of Star Trek and Discovery has been announced, it might be fun to do a tutorial. I look forward to more videos!
