    I just had Goodyear Endurance tires installed on my travel trailer yesterday. I have about 4,500 miles on mine in a years time and decided the one year full replacement warranty ended on the Westlakes so it was time far them to go. I kept the 4 old tires for emergency use only. When I went to load them in the bed of the truck I noticed right away how flimsy the sidewalls were on the Westlakes. So happy I changed them out now. Glad I am not the only one who noticed how flimsy the sidewalls are on the Westlakes. I am a first time viewer of your channel guess I am going to have to subscribe to your channel and check out your other videos! Great review!

    We had the Westlake's on ours and had a blowout. We run a 30' TT DW of 7900 and loaded about 9500, with an active sway WD hitch. I had the Endurance tires installed and an did not have sway bars on it and noticed a huge difference on the way home in the amount of movement from the trailer. I am definitely happy with the purchase,

    Got about 12000 miles on my Endurance, now. The first winter I ran them at 80 psi (cold), and I found they road rougher than my original China's. This past winter I dropped the pressure to 75psi, and I think it was easier on the trailer and contents. TPM has the pressure in the mid 80s and above, within a few miles of start, so I consentrate on excessive temp as warning of trouble. Thanks for review.

      So sorry that happened. It can be scary when a tire blows on a RV plus it sounds like you were lucky by not getting any damage to the bottom of your RV. I bet you will see a pretty significant difference in towing quality once you get the Goodyears on...it will be a smoother tow with less sway. Stay safe!

    Thanks for doing this review. I have a 44' gooseneck flatbed PJ trailer with the original (crap) factory tires (Good Ride). Experienced my 1st blowout yesterday (20K miles), figure the rest will fail in the near future.
    I'm looking for the best tires I can install on my trailer, hopefully that will last a lot longer than 20K.
    I appreciate the fact these Goodyears are made in the USA (very important to me).

    I have been running the Goodyear’s for a little over a year. Been to California and back to Alabama. We currently in New England. The tires run cool and track great. Run at 70 psi (max is 80 psi). Run speeds of 65-70 mph. Trailer is 10800 lbs and pull with a 6.7 F250 Ford. Great review

    Good job on your review! It is greatly appreciated. I am new to the RV world. After I purchased a brand new 2018 RV and was driving it from Arizona to Texas I had a blow out at night on I-10. Wow, saying that was a horrible experience is probably an understatement. Middle of nowhere with your house stranded. Sorry that happened. I did a ton of research on these tires. Just had two blow outs with the 4 year old westlake tires within a few hours of each other. Did a lot of damage to the bottom of the camper. When you have a blowout the inside of the tires steel belts grab hold of everything below the camper. Took out my slide out wiring and fender skirts. Always have two spares on long trips and lighted hazard triangle reflectors too. Got four new Carlisle tires from Walmart on this holiday weekend they were the only option. Hopefully good tires.

I feel it was a good investment for piece of mind . Our trailer is about 6000 lbs dry and maybe 7000 lbs loaded. The old tires were rated for around 7700. The Endurance well over 11,000 lbs. We live and travel primarily out West. We see a lot of potential disasters on the road. When mentioning all the things that cause tire failure don’t forget proper hitch set up. We see many many travel trailers not level going down the road. Also, far too many people overload their rig and their tow vehicle. The attitude seems to be if there is space, put something in it. Travel as light as you can. I also see many people commenting about how they fill their fresh water tank full and hit the road. Water weights 8lbs per gallon. You really need all that extra weight on a 90+ degree summer day on a 6-7% grade? I doubt it.

Now I was planning on replacing these tires this year anyways. I will be going with the Endurance. I am a stickler for inspecting the tires each trip, proper inflation and torque on the lugs. Good Job, Thank You.
    My Jayco RETS 338 came stock with "Tow Max" tires. A friend of mine dubbed them "Blow Max." The absolute worst tires on the market on this planet. They must have been made by Chinese retards. Four tires, four years, four major headaches. The one benefit from having the worst tires in the world is how hypersensitive you become to your tire monitoring, I have the following; pressure gage, Small cordless Ryobi air compressor, laser temperature measuring device w/led readout ( to check the tread and hub temp when I pull up for a rest), and screw on tire pressure monitor which relays pressure and temp to a small screen in the cab. I am absolutely anal about checking my tires before, during and after the days travels. Having bad tires can definitely pluck your last nerve and turn you off to RV-ing forever. RV manufacturers may want to consider their entire "stock tire" paradigm to curb their liability exposure. Now I'm headed out to go get some Goodyears ... Thanks again for your review.

    • @AdventuringToday
      @AdventuringToday  5 років тому

      Thank you...I think another benefit to having driven on the cheap tires is it makes everyone a better driver when towing! The amount of sway reduction when you move to the Goodyears will likely be shocking! It was for me. My old tires were a bear to tow my TT on days with even just a 10 MPH side wind. Now the trailer is locked down behind me with the Goodyears and it takes some pretty stiff wind to create the same amount of sway. You will love this upgrade to your rig!!

    • @beerbearmgd
      @beerbearmgd 5 років тому +1

      Agreed, "a better driver when towing." I am working around the weather to get the Goodyears on. I really like the aggressive side walls. As for the sway, I don't have any sway. I use Equi lizers sway bar system and it keeps my rig unbelievably stable going head to head with Tractor Trailers coming in the opposite direction in the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel at 60 mph, or getting passed by them on the Interstates. However, now that you are saying that it is even more stable with the GY's now I can't wait to get back out on the road.

    I'm not sure if it's a fair comparison especially with the rigidness of the used tire because you got to understand that things been rolling around for several thousand miles Heating and extracting so it's probably lost a little bit of stiffness in the sidewall

      That could be true...although I believe typically rubber gets stiffer as it ages. The main problem with the cheap Chinese tires is they are very prone to blowouts. Part of that blowout problem is cause by weak sidewalls. My wife commented on each of our last 2 trips with the Goodyears and I am so much more relaxed while driving. It's true. The trailer so so much more glued to the road compared to before.

    Endurance is a fine tire, but your right, it is marketing hype. Westlake is state of the art tire manufacturing as good as any name brand, better than Firestone. Gone from tier 3 to tier 2 and tier 1 now.

    Main thing to remember about all ST or Trailer tires. They are designed to run at 65 mph max, and not over that speed. If you are in area where the speed limits are 70+ mph. Then you should change over to a LT (Light Truck) E range tires if you plan to tow going over 65 mph. All new Air Streams are coming equipped with Michelin LT tires on them now.

      Research before commenting. Plenty of ST tires have speed ratings up to at least 87

      @@MYCHANNELWITHMYSTUFF LT tires don't belong on trailers. Totally different design and purpose between the two.

    My tire guy states the Goodyear Endurance tires are also made in China. Kyle at Standage Tire in Blythe Ca., states The "Endurance" quality can be met with tires that are also made in China but a lot less in price!!!

    How do you compare a new tire to a new one? NOT RIGHT..

      Sorry...I'm not sure what you mean? I was comparing a brand new Goodyear to the Westlakes that had almost half their usable tread worn off. Maybe I'm missing something and would be happy to help...please let me know. Thanks.

    So you're reviewing tires you haven't even had mounted yet? Open dictionary: see "pointless".

    Goodyear quality sucks! They get deformed when you hit a pothole.
