    I can't believe I stumbled on this video! You came to our church when we were at our most chaotic, before we had a solid system in place. Of all the people that came in that first week, you were the most patient with us. I remember you probably the vividly of anyone. We had so many people come in to help that got frustrated, and were even rude, because we were an absolute hot mess, stuck somewhere between shock and panic with no means of communication. But you were calm, patient, and compassionate and that will forever be burned into my memory.

      You are absolutely right!! Y’all were a wreck and understandably so!! You had every right to be in that moment and beyond! We don’t get some kind of life training for this sort of thing, but what we do get is the opportunity to be patient, kind, and allow people some grace especially in those moments! I am thankful for the opportunity to be there with y’all in that moment and happy to help anytime!!

    Coming from a fellow Western North Carolina girl and her family, a huge THANK YOU! for everything you guys have done to help all of us small town folk!! we would have never dreamed of having so many people from so many different places come to help us in such a devastating time!! Y'all will be blessed for it!! You guys really don't know how many lives you all have changed and how much you have impacted us all, so once again, THANK YOU!! #wncstrong

    I don't think I will ever get used to seeing the devastation there. I've been watching for weeks now, and still this video caused me to weep again for all they have gone through and what they have yet to go through. I'm going to figure out a way to help. I know it will be needed in the months ahead, so that's my plan. Putting something together for later when we are ALL STILL NEEDED.
    And : thank you so much for being God's Angels on earth and spreading love! This was blessing for them I'm sure!!!

      **To add just as a personal note(these are needs in our own family): people need chainsaws and generators that they are able to keep to maintain their property with!!! winter is here and it is predicted to be pretty harsh so we expect to have lots more trees down and power outages in the months to come!!! And yes we are a family that was affected(workplaces not open due to no power and water so no income for close to a month) and have been working since day one of storm with the two volunteer fire departments we are part of as first responders. Please don’t take this as a personal sob story as it is not only my family in this exact situation but most families in our area are in the same boat.

    • @SassafrasPaul-cq7uw
      @SassafrasPaul-cq7uw 2 місяці тому +1

      And there's families that are in no shape to use chainsaws or hook-up a generator, or fill it with gas!! Maybe the Fire Departments could loan out chainsaws and other equipment in their districts. Equipment would go further and keep communities communicating with each other!!!

    Great work on shedding light on such an important topic, the visuals were really impactful. However, I can't help but feel that while highlighting the devastation is crucial, we should also focus more on the resilience of the affected communities. It's a delicate balance, and I think emphasizing hope alongside destruction could spark a more positive dialogue. What do you all think?

    With the Holy Spirit Jesus left with us and using His wise discernment, we are to restrain the darkness whenever and wherever the opportunity arises. This is a Holy Duty. We are commanded to love our brethren as He loved us being willing to lay down our life for our brethren and this gives us our greatest Joy ! Occupy and redeem the day, be the salt and the light! Lastly from conviction by the Holy Spirit I announce vote against the party who is championing abortion which Our Heavenly Father despises. This is also a Holy Duty. I had all paid for an new. New truck new home motorcycles 2. My mom's ashes. My wife's ashes. My past dogs collars. Everything. An FEMA gave 15000. In my later 60s. I have to rebuild some kind of life. My home values were over 3 hundred grand. I bought a truck for 5 grand. Now I'm supposed to rebuild my paradise I had. For less than ten grand. I have a warm room till dec 11th. Then out in the cold. An all the hundreds in a tent. Family's in the cold. An we have had all our taxed paid dollars. Stolen. If anyone has a idea for help. Most have had their power restored and now local business are hurting because there is all this free stuff and people are not purchasing locally. There are also people now going to these donations sites and saying they need stuff, to only then take it and sell at markets.

      That has actually been happening here, but they started marking out the bar codes on every item they could.. There has always been those who take advantage of and try to profit from kindness... Their day will come....

    God bless each and every single one of you who are helping everyone who has been affected by the evil hurricane Helene. 🙏🫶❤ Y'all are beyond awesome! Red muddy water runs off the ridge up behind us and comes around the corner and down our street every time we have a hard downpour. If we had gotten more than we did like all of these good people, the ridge itself probably would come down, too. The devastation is so catastrophic. Prayers for everyone and much love. 🙏 From Melissa in the mountains of Virginia. ❤
