Milky Yellow are absolute beasts for its price
I agree
The oil kings are pure thocc. The milky yellows are pure marble. I want both.
The oil kings sound so crunchy XD
I also find milky yellows to be very close to oil kings. I like oil kings a bit more
The new Akko Rosewoods. Hands down. Nothing else comes close right now.🤤🥰
I thought KTT Kangs were the king of Marble, but holy heck the HMX Ziwei just went further beyond what I thought was possible. Never heard them before and now I might have to make a board with them one day lol. I prefer thock, but MAN does that sound good
It's one of my favourite switch. The HMX Ziwei, even though stock, is very smooth and clean sounding.
Lemme have a go at em ;)
@@Lil_Shoosh 🔥
@@Lil_Shoosh WHOAAAAAAAA LIL SHOOSH!!!! I'm sure you'd make a legendary build.
Hold up, I thought Rainy75 has HMX Violet. Mine does
HMX violet is the same as ziwei I think
@@MechWhisper ok thanks, that cleared it up
“It only gets creamier” crazy title ngl
Oil King is really deep. But I think I'm leaning more into poppier, clackier sound
Been looking for a creamy switch for the longest time and I've been snubbing the milky yellows for some time now. I think it's time to face the fact that it is indeed the creamiest of them all 😅😅😅
Hard to pick a favorite, maybe the CIY Sakuras
Would love to see if Rainy pairs Vertex V1 or deeper HMX switches such as Canglan V2 :D
I'm currently using my rainy75 with Vertex v1. Its so creamy and lower pitch sound than original switches (WOB switches)
What is your favourite creamy switch?
kang whites!
Milky yellows ofc
Vertex v1 on any leobog with moa keycaps.
SWK blue whale..........I'll give ya a cookie if you can find and buy them lol
Please do a comparison between this and Bridge75/plus
Soon :)
Hello I would like to recreate your sound on this keyboard with the Gateron Oil King switches, can you tell me if you did any mods to it or is all stock in this video?
Hi there, the sound you're hearing comes from the stock config of this keyboard, no mods were done :)
@@MechWhisper Great thank you, it sounds amazing!
I listen to this video again and again wondering if it's worth buying the milky pro yellows. I got the pro version of the rainy75 and i'm worried that the wob switches it includes might be too similar to the milky yellows and I end up wasting money. Has anyone swapped milky pro yellows in the pro board?
Milky yellows and the wob switches are very different imo.
@@MechWhisper absolutely : milky its deep muted sound , wob is loud thocky a little bit high pitch (similar to zwei on video)
People tend to say THOCKY is so delicious... and here I am .. using one of the Thockiest keyboard of all time and grew tired of it ... I dreamed of a thock keyboard? now that I used it I kinda like the marbly clacky sound just like this HMX Ziwei
Goes to show that preferences change over to time :D
@@MechWhisper Yeaaa..Thock sounding annoys me now .. and also now I kinda understand why Hippyo lean towards light and clacky sound .. as long as it doesn't sound hollow and pingy
Amazing video. Planning on getting this board. What is your opinion on getting the oil king, VS the akko Creamy yellow, VS the milky yellow?
Akko cream yellows (I assume the v3 pro) are clackier, higher pitched and louder. Milky yellows and Gateron oil kings are more muted, deeper sounding switches.
How is the milky yellow compared to JWK Snow Squid? Wondering cause they sound very similar
Thx for the comparison! Could you also share your thoughts on how Sakura vs Milky Yellows feel? Is it true that Sakura is more smooth (better lubed in stock) and light?
Milky yellows are smoother stock, but Sakura has a louder bottom out at the same time still giving that creamy sound profile.
Vertex v1 would be #1
im thinking of getting the oil kings but I cant decide if I should get the hi75 or the gmk67 as the base board.
Both keyboards can sound extremely creamy and thocky. Also compare other differences like the price, form factor, portability and wireless support to see if those matter to you.
@@MechWhisper thanks ill give it some more thought 👍
Both are great, gmk67 is cheaper, but it only has plastic case and no flex cuts
hi75 is wired only, gmk67 is trimode
@@fablesolar8203get a Neo 65 if you can. Can be your final keyboard.
Hello! I just bought milky yellows, but when I replaced the spacebar switch on the rainy75 with the milky yellows it sounds so weird, it's like the stem is too low for the milky yellows and i am only hearing the stabs... did you have the same issue? >< Awesome vid btw!
Does it sound like what is in the video?
@@MechWhisper the other keys yes... only the spacebar doesn't but i changed the milky yellows stem with another switch stem and now it kinda sounds like the video!
OP, where did you get the HMX Ziwei switches? It's seems to be an exclusive to the Vietnamese market?
I don't think they sell it standalone, but it comes with the Rainy75 prebuilt
@@MechWhisper Thank you.
Not a fan of that spacebar sound, probably could use a different switch for it on the kang ktt whites
Do you think it also sounds nice with ws morandis? Great video tho
I think Morandi will sound great if it’s hand lubed.
Thanks, I just got them :)
Can you try some thocky tactile switches :v I really love tactile but dunno which can go well with this kit :v
Sadly I’ve parted ways with this keyboard and moving on to explore others. Nevertheless, I’ll take note to try out some tactile switches in future builds.
@@MechWhisper really look forward to see your future build
@@MechWhisperYou just uploaded this two weeks ago. How often do you switch? 😅
@@Omega-EP I don’t really follow a schedule, whenever I see something interesting I’ll just give it a try, a lot of times they come from suggestions/requests in the comments.
@@MechWhisper And you keep everything? Or you sell it off eventually?
The oil kings dont sound as good as i thought they would. And the Kangs sound better than i thought they would lol
Haha, glad you arrived at some conclusion for yourself!
Great content! Nice comparison! Keep on going!
What you've done with the Oil Kings and Milky Yellow? Only hand lubbed? No films or anything?
Thank you! They are all stock, factory lubed; the oil kings have thicker factory lube though, almost like hand lubed
@MechWhisper damn, for stock ones, this is a super nice sound. I can't wait to test my Milky Yellows'. I Ordered it a month ago, but still waiting.
@@Vady777 I highly recommend lubing it to get the most out of it, it’s slightly scratchy when you put it up against your ears but less noticeable when you start typing because the typing sound will drown out the scratchy noise. But still, lubing it will make it a lot smoother.
@@MechWhisper Yeah, I'll lube them. I also thinking to put poron switch film in.
are the hmx ziwei the same as hmx violet? can’t find info on this anywhere
I think they’re the same
I bought the pro version with the fr4 plate. Do you think it will make a big sound difference compared to the pp plate (standard version)?
I think it will sound thockier, with more body to the sound. The one I have here sounds more marbly.
@@MechWhisper thank you for your response! And great videos btw keep it up! :D
Hi may I know what size of hex screw driver you used in disassembling the rainy 75?
I didn’t check the size but I think it’s between 1.5 and 2.0 according to what I have read online, I used the wowstick which is an all in one tool for these kind of tasks
@@MechWhisper thank you.
Which of these switches is the smoothest stock
I’ll say the Gateron oil kings :)
Do you know what kind of screws the keyboard uses, because I need to switch them but they are worn out xc
Not sure exactly what size is it, from what I read online it’s between H1.5 and 2.0
I have aula f75 kit and i will get gatreon Milky Yellow, will the sound will be same as in the vid or not cause the sound get me 😮💨🔥
It will sound different, as they have different case materials (plastic vs aluminium) and internals. If it helps you can check out this video: ua-cam.com/video/xXHlmy3WaCY/v-deo.html, which uses milky yellows on Aula F87.
Hello! May I ask which Milky yellow variant this is, as I see multiple ones.
Is this the original one, or the V2 Pro?
it should be the original one
Where did you find hmx ziwei I can’t find them anywhere
They come with the rainy75
@@MechWhisper they are the same as the violet switches?
i need help , the only decent rainy colour scheme rn has cocoa switches , i have no clues how those sound , but i beg for thocc , any help?
One option is to sell the cocoa switches (if it doesn’t suit you) and buy a new set of thocky ones; there are plenty of budget ones which sound really decent
@@MechWhisper thanks man ! ordering the rainy 75 most prob today!
@@sillylittlegooberforlife you’re welcome!
