When I was young, a long time ago, I was at a tent meeting, there was a big tent but it was in a park, and all the kids that could were playing and kinda outside the tent, I was walking to a concession stand to buy a drink, I was pretty young, maybe 8 or so, but all of a sudden I stopped walking, and I felt a calm come over me, I looked back and all the kids were standing, the babies stopped crying. And everyone was silent, one person, started speaking way over in that tent, and I dont know how many people were there but everyone heard them speaking in a different language.it was silent except for the speaker, after he spoke there was a silence, no one moved no one spoke, and then another person from on the other side of the tent spoke. What he said sounded like God was repromanding the people because he is Holy, and all must be Holy who name the name of jesus..
It was peaceful, but is was stern..I don't know how to explain it exactly but it was the gift in operation by the spirit..I have never again in all these years seen or experienced that in a gathering of God's people..but i do know and believe it was correct..I'm an older man now and I still remember how the presence of the lord completely hushed everyone, even animals and babies..he is the Lord of all the earth....thanks for the video.

I was in a prayer room in church at 6:00 at Water of Life in Fontana, California. I heard many people speak in tongues before, so I wasn't uncomfortable. This woman was in the corner of the room speaking in tongues. When she walked past me I heard her clearly say, "I must draw near to God." I was startled that I interpreted her tongue!
For months after, I would lean in to others speaking in tongues, thinking I could do it again.
      That was the only time.

    I interpreted a tongue once.
"I must draw near to God."
If you say prophesy ends, tongues ends, then knowledge must end.
I Know in part, I prophesy in part.
But when perfection(the body, Christ being the head) comes the in part will disappear.
So, I know and I prophesy.
Plus, it can't be the Bible's completeness because 1 Corinthians is missing.
    We have 2,3,4 Corinthians.
    2nd becomes 1 Corinthians
    3rd and 4th becomes 2 Corinthians

According to the Word there are three operations of speaking in tongues:
    1) The first sugn that a believer has recieved the Holy Soirit when they recieved ( Acts ch.2,10,and ch.19)
And the born again believers private prayer language for self edification ( 1Cor.14:4)
    2) The gift of speaking in tongues that is to be accompanied by a believer with the gift of interpretstion so that all present may be edified ( 1Cor.12:1,7)
    3) A sign to unbelievers. This sign was manifested in Acts ch.2 when the men in the crowd heard what the believers were saying in one spiritual language in their individual native languages.
That it why three times the men enquired of each other how the were hearing what the believers were saying in their individual languages to point us to that fact.

@@annabelgrace1267 then explain why Paul said it wasn’t known = For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. (1 Corinthians 14:2, KJV)

@@annabelgrace1267 Hi Annabel. The reason that the pluralized word " tongues" is used in Acts and 1Corinthians is not because more than one langusge was being spoken, but because more than one believer was speaking in a language. I believe its the only way the translators could word what they couldn't understsnd.
In Acts the reason that the crowd were saying that the believers were speaking their native languages, because the believers were all speaking in one spiritual language and God enabled the men in the crowd to hear what they were saying in their native languages as a sign to unbelievers that He was at work here. The unbelievers were the men in the crowd.
Paul describes this spiritual language in 1Cor.14:2 and 14:14 as the unknown tongue," that no man knoweth".

If people learned how to rightly Rightly divide. The miracle was not in the speaking but in the hearing. Many are listening and few are hearing. Rightly divide and dispensation shows a time line. Acts is a transitional book going from law to grace. People are mixing law with grace and having neither.

One concern is that the oldest manuscripts of Mark stop at verse 8. Verses 9-20 appear to have been added later. The language used is out of place and does not conform to the earlier verses.
Scholars believe Mark 9-20 were originally commentary that became part of the text, but not part of the original autograph written by Mark.

Early church fathers such as Tertullian and Irenaeus referenced Mark 16:9-20 in their writings, predating the oldest surviving manuscripts that many critical text advocates use to throw it out.

@@AllforOne_OneforAll1689 True. Yet Mark has only 31 verses not in Matthew or Luke who both used Mark as a source.
And neither used Mark 16:9-20. So out of 31 verses not used, 11 are together.
Both church fathers you mentioned were born 130 and 160 AD. So the verses may have been added after Matthew and Luke but before mid 2nd century.
If you contend verse 18 is original, try handling venomous snakes and drink poison.

Signs and wonders are secondary to the gospel proclaimed. You want to prophesy preach the gospel. Acts of the Apostles that's a big hint. I've been watching video after video on the subject. I didn't know about rightly dividing what pertains to the body of Christ and what pertains to the Jews. I guess I should mention a pre trib rapture. Acts is an transitional book going from law to grace. From the old covenant to the new. Pentecostalism has been a lie from the very beginning. End the tribulation the Jews will preform Signs and wonders but so will the antichrist.

The audience at Pentecost heard the words in their first language. There's no mention of an interpretor, so where did the interpretor rule come from?

    • @1WhoConquers
      @1WhoConquers 11 місяців тому

Paul says there should be someone to interpret, here...
If anyone speaks in a tongue, there are to be only two, or at the most three, each in turn, and let someone interpret. (1 Corinthians 14:27 CSB)
But realize that there are different manifestations and they aren't the same gift. Speaking in a way that someone who doesn't know your language, or speaking someone else's language when you don't know it yourself, that's a Gift of the Spirit given specifically to be a witness, to spread the gospel message.
Speaking in the language of angels that no human can interpret without Divine assistance, that's a prayer language primarily intended for self-edification, not public displays.

If speaking in tongues is for today, how come we don't see the other signs mentioned in Mark 16:17,18? Like :casting out demons, they will pick up snakes with their hands, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not harm them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will be made well.
Give me a clear answer on this, Tim Conway. You are dead wrong with your teaching, that speaking in tongues is for today, unless you have an answer to my question.

Why don't you defend your position as a cessationist with clear scripture refuting what Tim said? Just because you do not see miracles take place, doesn't mean it does not take place. There are many legit miracles that still happen that false prophets do not get the credit for.

@@AllforOne_OneforAll1689I am simply reading the scriptures, and I see no place where the church has the power to do what is written in Mark chapter 16: 15-18.
In any case, if anybody today can speak in tongues , the same should be able to drink deadly beverages, and not die. I don't know for you, but for me I have never seen such thing, in churches around here.
Now if anybody among you has the power to heal people, they should go to the nearest hospital, and heal everybody there. But don't worry, it will never happen.
Because such miracles have never been for the church of Jesus Christ, after the death of the apostles. This is simply some charismatic false teachings, based on emotions, and not on the word of God. I know what it is all about, as being in the midst of a Pentecostal Assembly of Canada, for ten long years!

@@AllforOne_OneforAll1689 I have already told you that if one can show me the signs given in the gospel of Mark 16, then I will believe it did not stopped. But nobody, you included, has come with any proof that the miraculous gifts are still going on.
I have never seen, in any church, any of the signs that were supposed to follow those who would believe, in Mark chapter 16, from verse 15-18. Why? Am I simply not at the right place, at the right time?
Now, even our apostle Paul didn't had to power to heal the sick by the end of his life, when he told Timothy to take some wine, for his frequent stomach problems 1 Timothy 5:23. How come he didn't simply healed him? Your answer please.
Also, why did Paul leave Trophimus sick, while Epaphroditus was also sick to the point of death in Philippians 2:27? How come he didn't healed them both? Your answer please.

We see the signs. YOU just don’t see the signs and when you see you can’t believe furthering why you can’t see the signs. They’re not automatic. The question you should ask is why isn’t the church fasting like those who saw the gifts fasted, giving like those who saw the gifts give and evangelizing like those who saw the gifts evangelize.
The truth is the gifts haven’t ceased, instead pride, head knowledge, and ego has increased.
