- A wonderful tribute to Carrie Fisher by daughter Billie Lourd, director George Lucas, Kathleen Kennedy, and music from John Williams. This amazingly touching and emotional tribute took place at the end of the "40 Years of Star Wars" panel at Star Wars Celebration Orlando 2017
Love that her dress is a modern version of Leias.
That was definitely the idea ❤️
Billie inherited her mom and grandmother's awesomeness.
Yes / Yass !!! Carrie (Fisher) and Debbie Reynolds are both smiling down (onto this stage) from Heaven... :) Billie gives out such a refreshing and positive vibe here....
She certainly did!

I cannot help but see a princess in Billie as well. She was both the strongest and most vulnerable person in that room. She is very much like her mother and I do hope she plays a part in the wonderful universe her mother helped to create.
She does..her characters is Connix, she is in the resistance
She wore her hair buns, not as big as Leias' buns
@@vrblacktongue68 I hope they give Connix a bigger role in The Rise of Skywalker. She was one of the few surviving resistance fighters left at the end of The Last Jedi so her character theoretically could've moved up the ranks a lot after that.
@@joemckim1183 yea but she didn't move up in ranks, as I have seen in leaked images that show her rank badge
@@k.k.urniks.u211 It doesn't make sense to not at least give her a minimal promotion. If you're a resistance member when you're essentially starting it all over again you obviously have a lot of upper and mid level positions to fill.
Any future Star Wars movie better have a part for her. You hear that Disney!
Billie has grown into a beautiful, mature woman. She has such stage presence. It's electric. Carrie would be so proud.
Yes! And I hope she is blessed with as stellar a career as her mom and grandma :)
I wish they would make a teenage Leia anthology movie, based on the novels about young Leia, Billy Lourde could play her, she looks so much like her mom, it would be a lovely tribute.
I'd love that too, maybe based on Claudia Gray's Leia: Princess of Alderaan book. However, though Billie is great, my choice for teenaged Leia would definitely be Millie Bobby Brown.
same
I'm really hoping they do!, so much story to tell
I hate any type of prequels, I like stories to move forward, but I would watch it. A show might be better
There are novels about young Leia? Who wrote them?
My favorite Carrie Fisher quote: "If my life weren't funny then it would be true...and that's totally unacceptable." Love you, Carrie
I didn’t start crying until Billie recited her lines in a new hope. Then, I became mush. RIP Carrie. We love you.
Same.

If they EVER need a voice over for future CGI versions of young Leia... Billie Lourd must be the one to do it.
Man, she sounds exactly like young Carrie. Heck she doesn't look exactly like Carrie, but if anybody would play a young Leia, also in front of the camera, it'd be Billie.
According to recent leaks, we might just be getting that...

My sisters husband worked for years at Disney World in Florida. He had many different assignments, guest bus driver, attraction cast member, etc. He told me of his seeing Carrie Fisher while there on a Star Wars Fan Day some time in the late 90's- early 2000's. She was at that time still quite fit and as my brother said, "REAL CUTE." Carrie was there to meet fans, sign autographs, the usual. However she was also there with her daughter. Billie was just a little girl at the time and Carrie didn't want her daughter to miss out on the attractions, so she politely asked to be informed when the time for the event was concluded. Carrie's time to meet fans was set at a specific time and was due to end likewise. Carrie, knowing that during the event, she was likely to get caught up in the fun, wanted an "out." Unknown to her, the handler had been told by her superiors to NOT tell her this. An enormous crowd had gathered to meet her, and the supervisors were (understandably) concerned at disappointing a large group of fans, who would be standing in line for hours. The event was planned for 2 to 3 hours. It went over. At a certain point, it became obvious to Carrie that a LOT of time had past. She was thoroughly enjoying meeting fans but wanted time there with her daughter. She'd ask the Disney employee "Isn't it TIME yet?" and the worker would at first say, "Um, no there's plenty of time left". Apparently Carrie hadn't worn a watch. Over time, she caught on to the deception, but seeing the still long line of eager fans, kept on, happily signing autographs, even introducing her daughter, who was by now getting fidgety. It wasn't till several hours had past that the Disney employee assigned to her needed a restroom break. A worker who had been assisting at the event (and related this story to my brother in law, who were friends) took over while the supervisor relieved herself with the specific instructions, "Don't let her leave." Carrie, seeing her opportunity with the "slave-drivers" absence, looked at her daughter who was nearby, looked at the still immense line of fans waiting, then looked the replacement handler dead in the eyes with her big brown beautiful eyes and said, "PLEASE...." His heart melted. He immediately announced to the crowd that the event was concluded, thanked everyone for coming, to which there was a "groan" from the crowd of remaining fans. Carrie and Billie were escorted by Disney security to explore the park and the event concluded. At which point the supervisor, who had taken a break, returned to find everyone gone except her assistant. She was EXTREMELY UNHAPPY. "Where did she go? Did you let her go after I specifically told you to NOT let her leave?" My brothers friend looked his supervisor in HER eyes and replied, "What could I do? She's PRINCESS LEIA." The supervisor just sighed, frowned in resignation, and replied, "Yeah. I know."
:,c I miss Carrie Fisher
VALHALLAXE
Pretty good story
VALHALLAXE i dont want to be rude but that is the longest comment I have ever read
*You know what budd... this was too much to read for me... i gotchu tho! One more like from me!*
I would have fired that supervisor on the spot had I found out about that.
Okay serious how many fans watched this with tears falling? 46 years old, a Man and I balled my eyes out. Make Jokes I'm secure in who I am ;P
Rest in Peace you beautiful Woman you! Beloved by Millions and Stronger than most of them! Carrie really was 1 in a million and she IS Princess Leia Skywalker Organa.
Wolfchacer I am in no place to judge or make jokes. I can safely say pretty much everyone cried. Carrie really was a force to be reckoned with and will be dearly missed
Princess Senator Chief of State Jedi Knight Leia Skywalker Organa Solo
This is who i have loved since '77
why would anyone make jokes about a human crying
I balled like a baby...so many fond memories, and to hear Billie repeat that magical dialogue, well, here come the waterworks. I too am a secure male. Love you Carrie/Leia, and now I love you Billie.
Don't worry man. I am with ya. I am 46 also and this teared me up something fearce.
I used to hate it when people said “May the 4th be with you” on my birthday but after Carrie Fisher died it became something I loved because I know she would want me to enjoy it.
May the force be with you Carrie
Rest In Peace ❤️
Like mother like daughter she never missed a beat.
Billie is superb...she made me cry, then smile. "The most evolved person is seemingly a contradiction; they are both the strongest and the most vulnerable person in the room." Rest in peace Princess.
Must be allergy season. I swear, I have something in my eye...
Michael Mack Damn... I think I have it as well...
Me too!!
Michael Mack Yep those allergies are tough to handle during this video 👍
Michael Mack yeah, I've caught it too... Dammit
It's spreading worldwide... :'(
Best tribute to our beloved Carrie.
I would like to see Billie become one of Hollywood's biggest and most sought after actresses. Cast her in more stuff already!
She’s doing solid
Who ever's cutting the onions really should stop
I can tell you from being in that room this whole thing there was not a dry eye in the room espically when John Williams started playing Princess Leia's theme. Thanks for the video so I can experience this amazing moment again.
Justin Beaman if you managed to hold it together through the video, I can safely say you will bawl during John Williams part
The second Billie started talking I cried real tears
Wow. The John Williams appearance at the end wrecked me. 😭 😭 😭
To me she is royalty
She will always be our Princess
that ref tho
Wonderful quote in TFA one of the first line! And So poignant some of the phrases were like “The ones we love are never really gone.” In TLJ
It amazes me how she could play the role of such a strong confident leader when she was really not feeling strong or confident at all at that time in her life. Amazing
She never allowed herself to become a victim
Billie is amazing. Her Mom and Grandmother passed on their class, humor, and beauty for sure. They're surely proud as hell.
Impressive and moving that Billie could do that without completely breaking down. I wouldn’t be able to do that.
Billie proved herself to be quite a competent actress in TLJ. I hope that they move her into a more key role in Ep. IX
I love how classy John Williams was when the people started cheering right after the Carrie Fisher clip (He put his finger to his mouth to say please be quite) He was instantly saying this moment is about our fallen princess and not me🌹❤️ What a class act. RIP Princess Carrie Fisher you will always be are princesses .
Carrie was the epitomy of the Female lead, her beauty and strength were unrivaled in a time when the genre of hero belonged mostly to us guys. We guys loved her as did everyone else who appreciated just what she was made of. Carrie will always be the most beautiful Hero inside and out. Poor Billie holding back the emotions so well and with such grace. Losing a Mother and Grandmother 1 day apart is a devastation I hope no one has to go through. Carrie lives on in some ways through Billie, at least her legacy will continue to live on through more generations.
Billie is a stunning beauty with talent of her own and I think she would be a great addition to future movies or even a Young Leia television series type of thing. People compare her to her Mother which I will admit is a kind Honor but she can hold her own in front of and behind the cameras, I eagerly await her next project.
Billie is such a true heart. Love her so much. I cried.
Wow! What an amazing and moving tribute to a princess and true Hollywood royalty! Ms. Fisher, you will be missed! But never forgotten! And to the mother of the princess, Ms. Debbie Reynolds. Thank you! Now they are both singing and dancing in the heavens! What talent! What a loss! We will continue to keep their legacy and legend alive! May the Force be with them both!
RIP Carrie and Debbie. Thank you Billie for sharing them both with us and may God bless you in your time of loss. Star Wars was a great movie series and that was in part to Carrie and now you Billie.
Every time I watch this video I cry, because the theme John Williams wrote for the princess, one that heard it for the first time in the Documentary is beyond beautiful, but the first time I heard it again after she pass away. I was sobbing and now, well I still do...so beautiful.
A classy tribute that I am grateful to be able to see. When John Williams put his finger to his lips to try and quiet the overly amped crowd, I knew exactly how he felt.
That Williams score is a masterpiece. Rest in Power Carrie Fisher. The first Princess I ever had in my life.

It doesn't matter how many times I've watched this or from how many different angles. This tribute will always move me to tears. I've cried more over the loss of this woman than I have over that of my own relatives that have also passed away between Christmas and now (May 1, 2017.)
As someone who is a fellow survivor of mental illness, like Carrie I too learned how to use snarky humor to cope. I became a writer because I couldn't bear to merely journalize things -- I had to make them entertaining and "disguise" my real-life experiences behind those of fictional characters.
So many life parallels -- both good and bad. Of course there can only be one Carrie Fisher... but I will be forever grateful that she can be our 'imperfectly perfect' example of how to live -- vivaciously, unapologetically, and full of love.
Thank you for recording and sharing this beautiful tribute. It's the best there is. I'll be forever moved that Billie was able to stand in front of an audience and give that tribute.
Wow
Rae Carson That really touched me. Stay strong. May the Force be with you.
Stormreaper100 Beat me to it, so let me say it a little differently:
Live Long and Prosper, and May The Force Always Be With You.
🖖
What a beautiful tribute to a fabulous woman! 💐
There really is nothing more moving than showing someone true honor and dignity. And it's all the more poignant with Carrie because it's true -- she shared so much with us.
Oh Lourd....I am so very, very sad for you. It's awful to lose your fabulous mother. I lost mine, & she also fought so hard, never became a "star", but was a star to me. Carrie touched me in her imperfections- she was the best! I'm so sorry you won't have her to be there to guide you. It's not right. I'm sorry.
Who the heck is Lourd?
@@MrWmJosephSmithIII Carrie Fisher’s daughter.
Love when she took that deep breath before dropping one of her mother's most memorable lines. It's like she knew she was going to nail it!
Man... that Leia theme part of the presentation... it’s impossible not to lose it at least a little
Always will be a Princess...
And there was not one dry eye when John Williams conducted.... Mine included....
I balled my eyes out right when the music started
We did too.
I also got a bit misty when Billie gave the "Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope" monologue.
Film Masters if you weren't crying by that point you definitely start when the music started
It is a bygone era for us 50ish year olds I was 10 when Starwars came out my dad bought me a orange flashlight lightsaber I was swinging it around the neighborhood at night while all the older generation looked on in wonder good days by Carrie see you soon I hope
I feel like when I got to hear Princess Leia give her full speech in A New Hope after just hearing a snippet. I'm referring to the glitchy video that was uploaded and was missing so much of Billie's tribute (not judging, I heard it was Verizon's fault). It's wonderful to hear Billie's loving testimonial to her mom. I cannot imagine how hard all this has been on her. 💐💐💐

i can tell the pain billie was hiding behind her smile
As a fellow yt-documentarian/bootlegger, I just want to take a moment to THANK YOU for the well-timed, expertly executed ZOOM OUT for context & applause @7:20. It's was to zoom in tight and FORGET that your audience can't see the whole stage. GREAT JOB! Many, many thanks.
It's been a year and a half since this popped up. I watched it then. And here I am now. Tearing up again when she gives the speech.
SamusMaXximus it's only 8 months old though?
Whenever I feel a little down, I watch this, cry and, after a while, I feel better. Rest in Peace Princess...May the Force be with you, Always!
I truly feel for Billie... I lost my Mom less than 6 months after she lost hers... it's a pain that never goes away. Losing your Mom is gut wrenching... One thing I am sure that Billie knows is that we carry our Mother's with us in our hearts... That being said, Carrie was a legend... she always will be.
6:40 OH MY GOD!!!! . You Taught her well, Carrie. One can only hope she will teach her child these same words.. Rest in peace , my Princess.
Another icon taken from us. Up there with the other legends who went too soon.
timrob12 as Mark Hamill said, she is smiling down on us as she gives us the middle finger
timrob12 so sad her Mom, Debbie Reynolds the next day!
I'll bet there wasn't a dry eye in the house when that tribute finished and John Williams started his orchestra. Forever The Princess. May The Force Be With Her Always
What an amazing tribute. The piece at the end was magical. I could feel her there.
Thank you for uploading that, amazing seeing what it was like being there in person. All the nose sniffing :'(

When i was 4 years old after watching A new hope i told my parents that i was going to marry princess Leia 😂❤️
Only TRUE STAR WARS FANS cried during this 😢
The bond between this Mother and Daughter knows no ends, it will travel through time.
Here it is 2018 and I just now seeing this and am crying like a baby,God bless Debbie,Carrie,Billie! From a Star wars fan since 1977!!!!!!!
Hands down the best find on utube for me in months, Billy seems soooo cool.thanks for the upload :)
Hope she’s in a better place now❤️ she deserved it! Will be our princess forever and always in our hearts!
I had to speak at a fundraiser after my father had died and Billie reminds me of so much of what I felt. I felt kinda numb at that point. I couldn’t believe life was real and in a weird sense I kinda said what people wanted to hear. She was clearly and clearly still is broken over the loss of her mom and grandmother. The months after losing a parent are unexplainable unless you have been through it. Billie is also a fucking incredible actress. Watch her stuff! She has it in her blood. What a strong woman. My god.
I truly loved everything about your mother, her talent, her struggles and her victories, May HER force be with us all! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I can’t watch this without crying
Carrie appeared at the Tampa Bay Comic Con in 2015, if memory serves me correctly, and I was fortunate enough to be there. She had her beloved and ever-present dog with her, of course; she was funny and bright, and I am deeply grateful that I was able to see her. RIP, dear Carrie, as well as your wonderfully talented mother, Debbie Reynolds. You will always be our princess.
Man i couldnt imagine having to straight face this. What a champ.
Princess Leia in the Cloud City outfit was my first action figure. She was the first real female hero us 80's girls had. I love that she, Carrie, as a person, was also so open to fans about herself as well. Hilariously funny and engaging.
Thank you for this. Awesome quality compared to the others posted.
11:13 I lost it I cant.... :'(
Eric Kristiansen I know. I tear up no matter how many times I hear it....
I lost it at 7:15 - it gets me every time, and to hear Billie say it....I can't :'(
I know the lines from a new hope by heart, and I will never forget them. I miss Carrie terribly. When She died I was a little girl but I remember how sad I was when I heard the princess I looked up to died. I love you, Carrie. Rest in peace bean
GET THOSE ONIONS OUT OF MY FACE! This is beatuful in so many levels :')
Man I can't stop crying... This is now my favorite video on youtube.
Awe, her poor daughter, loosing bother her mother and nanna (grandmother). She's brave being up on that stage
*losing
My heart hurts. But it is kind of in a good way.
In Star Wars, my generation has lost their heroes. Characters we looked up to.
Like our parents, coming to understand a time will come......but still not being ready or wanting of it.
Seeing Leia pass in saving her son was epicly impactful. It was soul wrenching at the same time.
No one, not the guys or the gals in the audience was without tears. It was beautiful.
My little granddaughter loves this trilogy. Rey and Finn....watching Poe in the ship she says. Rey's friend seems like a nice person she says of Ben/Kylo. She is 5 now. The breath of the saga is unknown to her.
The same way the original trilogy was not fully understood by her dad (my son) when he became the Anakin lover after Phantom Menace when he was 6 or so.
The way I loved all the characters of Star Wars, when I was their age. I am 13 months younger than A New Hope.
While everyone online picks apart every aspect, blames Lucas for destroying with the prequels, and now Disney with the sequels......I am seeing these films as something I can enjoy with now 2 generations of my family. I can experience their joy in the films, as I remember the varying joys I felt with them myself.
But for me, and folks of my age range....there will never be characters so loved as Luke, Leia, Han, and even Lord Vader.
I am eagerly awaiting the next stories, as are my family members. And I hope that my granddaughter will be able to have films she can share with her kids, and their kids.
THAT ladies and gentlemen is what Star Wars should always be. Sharing the enjoyment of the films with everyone else.
We lost two legendary actress / entertainers that year who will continue to entertain us all, eternally. RIP, Debbie and Carrie.
so many years later and i still get close to tears.
That was so beautiful. Thank you Billie and John for that beautiful performance!
Just found this.
The tribute was beautifully done. I think they should’ve shown some more of her as Leia on the screen. I’m so sorry I missed this. R.I.P. dear lady. You are sorely missed. 🥲
This video year's from now will be enjoyed just like it was that night.
Thank you for sharing this. Very special - it must have been incredible to have been there...
Beautiful daughter. So sorry for her lost
Her lost? Her lost what?
Carrie was a phenomenal woman! She lived her life honestly and in the moment. I cried during this whole video. Carrie was a mother to Billie and also all of us that looked up to her. When I was growing up in the 80’s I remember she was the first woman I looked up to. Her strength, her weakness and her wit are something I will always admire. Carrie, I mourn you still not because you were an actress but because you taught me that being a princess didn’t mean you couldn’t be a badass.
Well that made me cry, mr Williams music at the end was awesome . Rest in peace princess
No one else could quiet just a vast room with such speed and ease.
Wow gone 4 yrs but not forgotten. May the force be with you always.
I cried before this video started. There will never be another Carrie
I just heard someone say :Love you John!
The love we have for Carrie/Leia has been passed onto Billie, Carrie would indeed be proud and happy for that sweet, sweet moment. "Help me Obi Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope."
11:13...Damn. Definitely teared up.
Shaun Barbee what she say?
Elizabeth help me obi wan kanobi youre my only hope
billie looks just like her mother, she's gonna carry on a beautiful legacy.
I think her daughter would make a good princess ! R.I.P. Carrie the force will be with you always !
She is beautiful
3 years later and I’m still crying
I miss Carrier Fisher sooo much! Can't believe she will never write another book or act in another movie! 😢 My ❤ goes to Billie, strong and proud daughter of ROYALTY!
Wonderful :') Thank you for sharing this. it's so emotional
I realized belatedly that I didn’t know how to mourn anybody until Carrie Fisher died. I was numb. I was devastated. She was my heroine before I knew the meaning of the word. Leo’s was smart tough and said what she meant but she never raised her voice unless she had to. All of which I as a girl of six at the time Star Wars came out needed desperately as I was VERY QUIET as a result of bullying. Leis, I noticed never got pushed around. Instead she was the one in charge of the guys on the ship. Carrie, , I know you didn’t want to play Leis at least originally, but boy am I glad you did! Thank you so much. Leiia’s theme from Star Wars a new hope is exactly the perfect backdrop for such a solemn occasion as was the period after the loss of our princess. I’m still not too comfortable with funerals, but if this is what a remembrance should feel like, I may not be so afraid anymore. Thanks Carrie.
Am I the only one who feels bad for George?
I mean, he sounds so saddened all of the time. Does he have a family? I’m concerned about that man who had many ideas.
He has a family, he has kids, his kids were in Star Wars
BetaArtemis he has a 6 year old daughter
Carrie Fisher... Truly the rebellious women and a true princess in real life. You will always be remembered. And forever it will be.
Who keeps cutting the onions when Billie speaks? 😭😭😭😭
And there I was thinking I wouldn't cry if I see the tribute for the second time... Silly me.
such a iconic actress !
Rest in Peace Carrie Fisher !
Thank you George, I loved all 6 of your movies and hope you can write Episode 9!
That is never going to happen cause everybody knows Colin Trevorrow is directing and writing a screenplay for Episode IX
welp not any more, JJ's back baby
I love that she was this... STRONG WOMAN.
Independent strong woman.
Tears streaming down my face during “Leia’s Theme”.
