How to Dry Milled Lumber (Outdoors Stacking Method)

  • We recently had 15 trees cut down, all to be milled into lumber for a future build. The contractor brought in a portable mill and cut everything on site. Most is grade 2 stamped for structural building such as a house. It was roughly stacked but need to be done again for proper weight distribution to avoid the lumber cracking/splitting and warping. This is my best stab at it, by no means is this a tutorial but I did extensive research to make this the best I could. Let me know if there's something I could change or do better! I think you did a great job. You properly stickered that wood and made your yard look very neat with all the wood stacked out of the way. That should enable you to do some construction without having to move your wood piles around.
