- In this video, I answer a question I get from time to time about how we air dry lumber here on the farm. I explain 3 bet practices and setup lumber recently milled for drying. I also try to do all of this before a wicked thunderstorm knocks out our power!

So how long is a typical dry time for pine and oak wood? And stacked in a shelter, is there anything to do to speed up the drying process
I've had a few close calls with lighting. The worst was about twenty years ago. The utility pole out on the corner of my yard was hit, while I was unplugging an extension cord that was powering the pool filter. It lifted me about three or four inches off the ground and I felt the surge run up my arm and across my chest! Scared the 💩 out of me. My dog had been standing next to me and prior to this incident was never afraid of thunder or fire works.. after I new when a storm was coming because she wood get so nervous her teeth wood chatter!
How big on area do you need for a "wood yard" like drying starting saw mill and area to move around with the tractor?
WOW that was close! I bet it made you wonder if you'd done anything recently that may have made God upset!
