    I ride in the rain 9 months out of the year. Nice video. Nice to have a daily welcome wagon. Stay dry, stay safe.

      If I lived in an area where it rains that much I'd buy proper rain riding gear & be better prepared for it. I probably wouldn't worry about cleaning the bike after each rain & I'd just wait until the next rain shower to do it for me.
      We get very little rain here in the valley floor. Most of it blows up into the foothills & mountains. So when the news says we'll get rain they usually mean there not down here. I use a radar app that shows where the clouds will come & how fast & try to make an educated guess if I'll get rained on while riding. I don't always get it right lol

    • @servicarrider
      @servicarrider 6 років тому

      lol. Must be nice. What you in CA call riding in the rain is what we call cleaning the bike in Seattle. It's been a while since pruning the palm trees was on my honey do list. It's been even longer since I fell out of one. But I have spent a fair amount of time killing the plentiful green slime on my steep driveway so I don't slide down it and bust my ass. Which I have done on more than one occasion but thankfully never on a bike. I guess we all have our cross to bear. Think that has anything to do with why we ride?

    Another great vid, and nice to know I'm not the only one who's gotten rained on! As for the woman in the pickup, my guess is from her side there's a sign "no right on red" or something like that... but she didn't care... Ride safe good sir, and keep an eye out for those drivers...

    • @dawnrobb8809
      @dawnrobb8809  6 років тому

      Thank you No sign on her side saying no right turn on red. In Calif, like most states, you've got to stop at the red light and yield to traffic that has the green light. She just wanted to roll thru without stopping but I was in her way. Maybe she doesn't know there's two left turn lanes at that intersection or just a crazy B ? I always keep my head on a swivel & focused on my surroundings there's just too many bad drivers out there not to.

    • @koehlerrk1
      @koehlerrk1 6 років тому +1

      Too true... I don;t know California traffic laws, but where I live, Western New York, traffic lights are laid out thusly. On a normal 4-way intersection, unless there are signs prohibiting it, you can make a right on red if it's clear to do so. On a more complex intersection, meaning one with turn arrows, especially left turn arrows, the lane you're facing, aka, where she would have been, would have had signage stating no right on red or would have red/green arrows denoting when turning was allowed. None of this changes the fact that she was wrong... glad you only got your feathers ruffled.
      On another note, I introduced your channel to my almost daughter in law. She absolutely loves the sound of your Sportster 72... yep, she's got a good ear! Have a good one!

    • @dawnrobb8809
      @dawnrobb8809  6 років тому

      Our city is saving money by not putting up signs like they used to, expecting motorist to know the laws. Accidents have increased at intersections since instituting this change lol

      After that lady pointed out that I was #1 to her I told her what I thought about her. I had to edit all that out to keep my channel language clean. I know she couldn't hear me but at the time it felt good to express myself LOL

    Dude , About 2 months ago I got a 2012, 72 ! I haven't ridden so I didn't check the tire pressure's ! I just checked today and the Front is 10.5 psi and the rear is 15.6 psi ! I thought it was my pressure gauge bugging out on me so I went and did my car ? The cars readings were normal , I am using a digital gauge (slime) LOL , Slime ahahahhaha ! Anyway , I know these are tube tires and I searched online everyone is saying the front should be 26 in the back 30 ? Need your help man ! When I squeezed the tires , the pressure on the front does feel squishy ! but the back feels hard as a rock . I know this might be silly but could it be the tire pressure gauge and it's only meant for cars ?

    • @dawnrobb8809
      @dawnrobb8809  6 років тому

      I've never heard of an air pressure gauge for car tires only but maybe so IDK everything. I do know some don't fit properly on my motorcycle tires or my different cars nipples & leak air or don't seat right & give a inproper reading so I use different ones for different vehicles I've got 3 I use now. Maybe that's it? I've also had guages go bad without any warning. I seems I get new ones about every two years. Right now I've got a digital talking one that works well. I go by what the numbers are on the sidewall of the tire not what's on the frame sticker or what people say but 26 in the front & 30 in the back sounds low to me

    May be the little Lady in the Truck could use a little bit of a reading from the Good Book, that might help some, but if not, ya can always show her some of the pictures too. ;-)
    It's always nice ta have a little rain, it'll keep things Green, however I know Southern California seems to look the same Golden Brown. Great Video RR.

    Thanks for sharing. I have had people in cages pull up next to me in downpours at red light look over at me and start laughing their heads off as I sit there in the rain. I have also had people get really mad at me in the summer at stop lights as I pull up in the lane next to them with my pipes being a little louder than they like. I would imagine when someone is on your right and your near their open window when your lane splitting and your at a stop light they might roll their window up or say few choice words. Ride safe brother.

      I've not had that happen to me yet as far as I know. I really try not to get caught riding in the rain. I'm guilty of seeing someone riding in the rain & saying to myself "What an idiot" ( lol ). Yes I've noticed people roll their windows up when I pull up beside them but I can't hear them cussing me over my loud pipes LOL Thanks!

    So much for the radar showing no rain. It’s always sketchy being in the rain, as cars can’t see with all the spray. That lady in the truck was really special. Ride safe bro.

    Over here when it rains the roads are slippery for about 15-20 minutes while the fuel/oils etc rise up and drain off. What's it like over there with the longer sunny periods?

    • @dawnrobb8809
      @dawnrobb8809  6 років тому

      First rain of the season roads will be slick all day long until they get washed off good enough. After that if it rains every couple days it's not that bad and they're not that slick. I'll still try to stay in the dry area made by the car tires if possible but sometimes you just can't avoid riding thru water built up on the road and it gets sketchy. It wasn't too bad as the rain had washed the streets pretty clean of oils

    Do you have more than .2 seconds of you interaction with that crazy lady?

    • @dawnrobb8809
      @dawnrobb8809  6 років тому

      yes but it contains me cussing her back and flipping her off, after she came speeding up on my left side, started yelling at me and flipped me off. I deleted that part of my response to her in this video because I've got kids who watch my videos. I try not to set a bad example for them. I'm not proud of loosing my cool and cussing back at her or flipping her off, it just lowers me to her level of stupidity & I see no need in showing that part Thanks

    hey rob, I were a full face helmet when I ride now. I hate riding in the rain, but sometimes I guess that's part of it. some body told me that if spray lemon pledge on my face shield and wiped clean that it would help keep the off. haven't tried it yet will see this. summer. thanks for the videos. chris

    • @dawnrobb8809
      @dawnrobb8809  6 років тому

      That's good to hear. As much as I like the freedom & cool look of a half helmet they don't provide protection from flying objects like a full face helmet does, not to mention the safety factor of a full face if you go down. Mine has saved me several times from rocks being thrown up into my face by trucks on the highway and those suckers hurt if they hit skin. I'm even riding in full grown up pants more, instead of shorts in the Summer, to protect my legs from rocks.
      I've never heard of using lemon pledge but since it works on furniture I guess it'd work on visors like any glass cleaner might as well but I'll stick with using Rain X on mine. Thanks for watching and commenting

    • @dawnrobb8809
      @dawnrobb8809  6 років тому

      I start with dawn soap & water using many different brushes to get into hard spots. Then use a garage full of products to clean off bugs & grime the soap & water didn't get. Then polish scratches out & wax & polish chrome & paint. It's an all day affair

    • @Wooley689
      @Wooley689 6 років тому +1

      That is what I hate about riding in the rain. The rain doesn't bother me to ride in, just hate the cleanup. Look into the Bugslide motor officer approved stuff though, you can toss most all the other cleaners.
