I still have about a thousand Hot Wheels, Matchbox, and my all-time favorite~ Tomica cars from my childhood collection. A large number of them were never removed from the package.

Yes is does. Maybe start collecting hot wheels and maybe the depression will go away just a little bit. It will be temporary but you will have a new collection to keep you busy.

I had my idjit cousin show me a hot wheels price guide and a hot wheels vw bus and he says, "You see here? This bus is worth $800!" He put it on eBay for sale and it eventually sold for $110. He learned that toys are only worth what the buyer is willing to pay, not what the price guide book says it's worth.
When I was a preschooler, I couldn't collect Hot Wheels: my older brother would steal them from me. ☹🙃🤓

I just ended up digging myself in the hobby let me tell you, your better off scouting Walmarts and target to get some rare finds bc vendors can charge you 20 bucks for 1 pack of the exclusive metal to metal rubber wheels cars when they sell them for 6, i know im dumb in spending it but hey i treasure them dearly in fact im scared to even open them so I’m planning to hang them in my wall bc I don’t wanna ruin them inside my box and if your a hot wheel hobbiest keep in mind there are cars with a 0/5 mark, those are considered the rarest so don’t miss them

I’ve watched a documentary on this guy . Amazing collection for sure and some of the rarest pieces I’ve ever seen . However not the biggest that I know of . The biggest was a private collection I had the pleasure to tour with 11 thousand hotwheels pieces and 4 thousand matchbox,and Johnny lightning pieces . It was massive including 4 full size cars . 2 of them were replicas of the cars instead of the diecast being a replica of the car . The man told me he thinks he has 1.8 million invested in it

People whose main hobby is “collecting” things are boring. A hobby should be something you can “do,” not something you “have”.
That’s your personal opinion.
