Growing up in western Montana (70’s). One guy that was my grandfather friend had a gold mine and he had a sapphire problem…they would always clog up his sluice making him have to clear it out “ far to often” I have a couple small containers ( 3-5 oz pepper jars) one with small one with larger…the guy had a 50 gallon fish tank the gravel in the bottom was all the sapphires (like on the right of screen) 3-5” deep he had cardinal tetras and guppies in there…it was extremely beautiful..

That would be awesome to have sapphire gravel in an aquarium.

Dude... I've found some in Idaho way bigger than that. And actually yeah, there was a star sapphire from my area that was worlds largest for a moment.

Yay! So glad you did an unboxing on Montana Sapphires! I visited the Gem Mountain sapphire mine near Phillipsburg, MT and found a few small but cuttable sapphires. One that I recently had cut had similar properties to the "silver dollar" sapphire. It had similar greenish/teal color with pretty gold tones in the center of the stone. The only downside is that it's .5 carat.

Great episode!!! Love seeing American gems. Maybe you can travel to the mines here in the US, and show us more about the finding and washing process, then takes us on a journey to see the stones cut and mounted into a piece of jewelry. Something that you can keep as a reminder of your endeavor.

That is not the size of a silver dollar unless Natally is 7 feet tall and dude is even bigger...lol. That is the size of a quarter and he knows it!..the silver dollar is roughly 39mm diameter . weighs .7463 of a troy ounce and is 1.6mm thick. This is the seated liberty dollar, morgan dollar, peace dollar, eosenhower dollar and modern silver commemorative proof dollars...
Nattaly...i have a small rock creek sapphire that is the same blue as that "silver quarter" sapphire...which is huge...but silver dollar is catchier and more dramatic.anywho i have a .4 ct uncut and a .03 ct of the same color and is a natural cabachon just needing polish or maybe a tiny rose cut.. One green/ purple colorchanger with chatoyancy at .7ct . I have a sliver of a rockcreak ruby. At .01 ct. Lmao. Its a perfect little red stopsign. With clear edges...
I also have a giant 22 ct clear but cracked. with maybe a baby blue center...it would have to loose alot of weight but ya know...huge natural sapphire. I will be having some cut soon and finished at 500,000 grit polish. I cannot wait!. But uh...if you want to get that sapphire i can take pictures whenever. Id do whatever prefered buyer / seller protecting payment method of your most comfort and insured shipping...just sayin...lol
