Unbelievable!!! Thank you SOOO much. Hope you are feeling better!!
I really like the 5" square look and I love how fast they sew up.
I got excited when I saw the one at the end with a all three
different colors. I could really use scraps up. Also the part
you cut out of the back I will use for my crumb quilt blocks
I'm making. Those are so much fun🌷
Jean, I love this block .I've seen your older videos and when we made it in our block party 2018 I was hooked. Thank you so much for showing it again and how you worked it into many sizes on your quiltsHave a great Sunday !Linda A, WV
Thank you very much Jean for making this 5 minute block to explain well. God Bless
So pleased you understood it! Thanks!
Oh my word, I love this block. I'm just finishing up my flying geese quilt top. I used the method that you taught. So easy peasy. Thank you for your great ideas!!!
That makes me so happy! I'm trying to show beginners easy and quick projects that you get pretty much INSTANT gratification from! It's discouraging if something doesn't work out not to mention expensive!! :)
Thanks a Lott ! Jean, for explaining Everything so Patiently!
U really have a lot of experience about these Quilts & 10 minutes Blocks & I like All Ur Tutorials on Stitching !. U Teach with Soo Much of Enthusiasm & minute Details!
Thank you Very Much for Sharing ur videos ! Keep Posting , Jean !
Thank you so much! I love sharing what I know with nice people like you!:)
Thanks for a very good explanation. Such a neat trick. And easy, like you said. I sewed two along with you and they came out nice. I would have never figured this out my own.
Thanks for following along Christine:)
It takes a smart person to figure that all out. I could never have done it in a zillion yrs. Sure will make some table runners for Christmas with those patterns! Thank you
Not that smart....just lots of cutting, and experimenting, and throwing away scraps, and FINALLY cutting and figuring it out!! :) It's a fun block and works up quickly for a table runner!! Just a few charm squares and you are away!! All the Best!! :)
I love the one with the 3 different prints! So beautiful, Jean!
I just pulled those fabrics quickly to demonstrate - but they ARE pretty! :) Thanks!
Love the way you simplify things for us. Thank you
Simple is the way my brain works! Thank YOU for watching and appreciating! :)
Hello Jean this is fab. I gone mad with this block!! It's really great to make blocks up and have an awesome quilt top in not too much time at all, grabbing all the delicious colours you can. Thanks for your tutorial Jean xxx
Isn't it a wonderful block! Works up so quickly and looks so complicated! I'm working on this quilt right now! Thanks again! :)
Thankyou for taking time to show these examples. 😊😊

I have so many 5" squares that I've cut from my scrap stash. Now I know what I'm going to do with them. Love your tutorials! I always look forward to them and watch them over again to refresh my memory and get new inspiration.
This is an awesome way to use those 5" squares!! I am at this moment putting the quilt together which I'll be showing you soon!! :)
Such a great block!

Thanks Nita!! :)
I love it Jean
Thank you!
You are a Cleaver girl Jean, Thank You for the ideas
You are welcome! :)
This is some what like the cathedral block. You can put a small block inside that white block and sew your bias' down over it, like a fussy cut piece:)
I love this! I could listen to you all day!
I'll be sure and tell my kids that SOMEONE could listen to me all day ~ they Certainly can't!! LOL!! :)
I watched this vid and love this 1 seam block...although I’m a novice I decided to use my scraps and make these. I cut 5” squares and cut my white 3 1/2” x 6”. My top edge did not come out even on the top, I decided to cut mine 3 1/4” by 6” and it matched up beautiful on both sides. I don’t much about formulas but it seemed to work
Good for you! I think I had to 'stretch' the sides a bit...your idea was a bit more scientific than my messing about! :) Thank you!:)
i had same problem and I just cut that 1/4 off.... while I made sample... I will try 3 1/4" next time
the post script 12:30 with calculated measurements was an extra that was great 👍& very useful for our experiments 👍
thank you for watching:)
I too love this block
great video!!!
I love your video hugs from pam love to see more on quilt
Aw thank you Pam's Happy Crafts Quilts!: )
Hello Jean, this is the first of your videos I've watched and what a tutorial it is!. Thank you so much, it's provided huge inspiration for me.
Super ~ so pleased you found me! Glad I can show the little I know with others!
Jean Truelove you know more than a little 🙂
thank you for that tutorial i love it
I'm glad you like it Donna:) Thank you;)
Oh Wow Jean I just spent a whole day trying to do pin wheels with the actual pattern using 10 inch block well they do not meet in the middle because squares do not once folded over meet end to end! Thank you for this tutorial.
You are most welcome! Glad I explained it okay~ :)
And thank you again!
And you are most welcome again:)
I love it thanks
Thank you very much!! :)
Im going to try this...I really like that look!!!
You do such great fun stuff!!!
Jean, it would be neat to see the comparison with the big 10 nich block and this one???
When I show this finished quilt I will show the difference! :) And thank you very much! :)
Thanks Jean. Another great tutorial. I liked the Charm square pack you used. nice butterflies
I loved it! So pretty! :)
Thank you very easy to understand
Glad it helped Maryellen:)

New year love ❤️ you channel
So kind of you! :)
I cann't wait to try this!
Thank you for sharing . I will be tiring this xxxxx
Super!! Easy blocks and a lot of 'look' for not a lot of work!! :)
New subscriber and I'm already learning a lot. Can't wait to watch more of your videos. Your energy makes me smile.... I love that.
Thank you for watching me:) My earlier videos are somewhat of an embarrassment....I've gotten better, trust me! :) LOL!
Good From Venezuela
Thank you from Pennsylvania!! :)
Jean, on episode 55 ( I LOVED the tutorial ) - If I wanted the 2 ends to meet, so the white makes a curved diamond, you said that that would defeat the purpose. How could I make the "curved diamond" in the middle? Easy of course! I love your tutorials.
I never did like the 10 min block because the blocks were too big, I prefer the smaller blocks. I was actually watching yesterdays tutorial 54 again when ep 55 came up. It will be interesting to see it all made up. thanks Jean :)
I'm making it up now...just unit by unit and block by block....I will show it when I am done! :) I have made the 10 minute 3 seam block with 5 equal sized charm squares and it worked up beautifully...just a tad bit fiddly to get the small middle turning section but it ended up about 9 inches. It was lovely! :)
I look forward to the ep 56 x
kerranky hasn’t been
Thank you, Jean! You have inspired me on what to do with the charm pack I purchased a few days ago! Just beautiful! I have a question that’s kind of off the subject. My husband surprised me with a DreamCreator VQ2400 as an anniversary gift and I’m actually hyperventilating from both excitement and being afraid of it because I’ve never had such an intricate machine! I’ve been reading the manual trying to learn as much as I can before taking on my first project. One feature I absolutely love is the automatic scissor feature but I notice that you always use scissors to manually cut strings after sewing. Is there a reason why?
I just love my Brother machine, however, I find that the auto cutter cuts my thread a tad too short and when I next sew, it comes either out the needle or isn't pulled up in the bobbin enough. Perhaps it's just my machine (or me) but I find that my handy dandy scissors are quicker and better!! :) Have fun, breathe into a paper bag and GET SEWING!!! :) LOL!!
Thank you! Well, so far so good on mine. Like I said, I'm just getting to know the machine but you'll be happy to know that your design will be the first quilt I try on it! :)
Hi Jean! I love this block. I have a question...say I'm using a print fabric for the triangle bit...when I fold the rectangle, is it right sides together or wrong sides?
It is right sides together (then placed in the middle of the two and stitched down the one side)
Can you use a jelly roll for the center half square? Or 2.5" strips.
I wonder if you could make the triangles the same height but make them different widths so that when you put them together you could get a tree shape?
Hmmmmmmm......I wonder.....did you try it??!?!? Might work!!
This is cute!!! Great idea! Wow did you invent this method??
No, I didn't ~ there are MANY variations on this block out there. I did however, figure out FOR ME, how to do the measurements a bit more precise:)
❤❤❤❤
The white looks like a pretty front for a littles girls dress
It does, doesn't it?!? :)
Hola buenas noches, quiero saber cuantas pulgadas mide los cuadros de colores? Y la tela blanca entendí 3" x 6".. ojalá puedas responder mi duda y poder hacerlo. Saludos desde México, linda noche 😄
The patterned fabrics are five inch squares, but the white piece is 3 1/2" x 6". Not 3" x 6". Hope this helps
Thanks alot,you're such a hoot
You are most welcome! We do have a laugh!:)
👍❤️😊
Hi Jean! I wanted ur opinion for a TableRunner. Can u tell me if these Quilt Blocks can be stitched on to Table Runners? In the Centre Portion. Will it look Good?Or will a Pinwheel be more Suitable?Kindly Reply.Bye & Tc Jean.
I think ANY block can be made into a table runner! This would look lovely! Pinwheels are super but it's depending on the look you want...I like these very much:)
😍😍😍😍😍 !
Would this look good as a border?
It would make a SUPER border!! Just keep making them and join them around your quilt edges! :) Interesting and fun!
Hi Jean. I tried this block but I keep coming up with an extra quarter inch on the top. The quarter inch is a single layer. I trimmed it off but I wonder what I am doing wrong. I tried three times with the same results. I am confused. I used two 5 inch squares and a folded 3 1/2 by 6 rectangle for the middle. Please help.
I just experimented to refresh my memory....if you really spread out the top center piece, it will be level with the top. If you keep it a bit lax, you will get that 1/4" on the top edge. I just pulled it gently to make it even. Hope this helps!
Thank you for your help. I will try to tighten it a bit more. Happily, I did complete the 10 minute block you demonstrated with no problem. You're the best!
Colleen Murphy
I had the same problem, I just cut my small piece 1/4” smaller. Using 5” blocks I cut the middle triangle 3 1/4” x 6”. Came out even and no fussing. I love this block!
amo seus trabalhos, mais não diz as medidas
The measurements of these units are: 5 inch squares and the center white is 3 1/2" x 6"
Do you mean the right side ?
Sorry...right side of what?!? I'll try to explain if I know....:)
Great block . Would like a shorter video ...eg 5 min .
Thanks so much for watching! I tend to waffle on and on ~ and I WARN people that I do!! I'm not changing any time soon ~ been like this my entire life!! LOL! Perhaps other much more professional, succinct and polished tutorials here on UA-cam, by other much more qualified quilter, would be more up your alley!
Awww, I love longer videos! Nice job, Jean!
What is the name of this block?
Ummmmm......LOL.....I really don't know! Half of a one seam 5 minute block?~?~? LOL!
Why do I see a pair of butt cheeks in this block? lol Seriously tho, this is very clever!
LOL! I marvel at the human brain and what it sees!! :) LOL!
Thanks for the revamped videos but I think you should really reference the original Author of this technique. Just giving credit to any person that deserves his/her due credit. I do agree that your videos show her technique better explained but a nice professional courtesy 😊
Do you mean the Suzanne McNeil original block? If you go to one of my first videos on my ten minute quilt block, I certainly DO reference her and give credit where credit is due. However, MY block, that I expanded on, has received many many positive comments as to how I go several steps further than that original idea, therefore making it my own version.
Jean Truelove Yep my first 10min quilt was off of your episode 6 and I did hear you say her name a lot of times. Thanks and keep up the great and fast quilt videos
