I have to disagree. I'm yet to see SG create an original lure. What they are good at is marketing things and telling people that they have come up with something totally new when all they are is a slight cosmetic variation of lures that have been around for decades.

How about something for just bass? I have 2 ducks and love them to death but I mostly get pike or muskeys on them the bass generally don’t go for them, I also have frogs and they go after them like crazy, might I suggest a frog? Or something geared to bass?

I caught a bass this past summer in the large bat. The fish came clean out of the water and smashed it. It was like it knew it was attacking a mammal. Favorite catch of 2021.

I just bought 5 lures off a dude on fb marketplace, all pike/musky baits and this bat is one of them. Cant wait to throw it around in the spring! I can see this thing getting eaten at night by some big pike/musky/smallmouth, largemouth bass.
We have pike in pretty much all the water we have bass in so its a gamble throwing any baits while targetting bass, let alone the more pricey baits because i almost always catch as many pike as i do bass. Whats a safe leader to throw this with if i want to target bass but also be safe if a pike takes it? Im thinking 60lb mono or a thin steel/wire trace.

Tried the sg rat, duck and bat here in the uk to no avail. Every trip i have an hour or 2 at the right times of day and still nothing! Put the trout or roach on and Bam! fish on 🤷♂️

Spend enough time on waters with large bat populations and you will be surprised at how many land in the water

Actually metal winged topwater lures have been in the U.S. Musky markets since the 1960's. The bass markets are just catching on to how effective they are.
pike dont know that is bat,duck or rad,anyway pike takes anything that make action and rest is just marketing,the lakes were they always fishin is full of pikes💯

What a load of bollocks, this is typical of a company that is out to relieve fishermen of as much money as they can by introducing new ridiculous high cost lures at regular intervals. Savage Gear are not the only company doing this but SG take it to a new level knowing that gullible anglers will buy anything they throw at them. A 'bat' lure? I wonder how many pike come into contact with bats during their lifetime? I'm guessing NONE! It's the surface splashing and vibration that attract pike and this can be achieved by any number of surface lures, you don't need a bat! What lure are they going to bring out next? A seagull? A pheasant? or perhaps a hedgehog? Nothing this company does surprises me anymore and as long as naive fishermen continue to buy their 'must have' lures Savage Gear will continue making new designs whilst laughing all the way to the bank. The old but very true adage - most fishing tackle is made to catch fishermen not fish.

I've personally seen pike and catfish hitting bats in France when I used to carp fish around Europe, fly fisherman have used large surface lures that imitate them for years when after sea trout so why not a more lifelike lure fair play to SG.

Sam, all these lures were available more than 10 years ago. SG just rebrand and market them better. Real eel, suicide duck, 4play, rat and whatever else they are selling for twice the price are all things that I have seen before. I'm not even sure it is possible to bring out a completely new lure anymore. It has all been done. I bet more of the cash you give them for one goes into their marketing budget than goes into making the damn thing. If you like their stuff then fine, just don't let them take your money and tell you they are giving you something new and unique when they are not. I take issue with them as they charge a premium price, but the quality is average.
