Hey tingman. I'm also an older cuber, didn't get into until my 30s, and man I feel that pain for not being as dexterous as I could have been as a kid. My average time is 12 seconds on 3x3, though I had to do a lot of workarounds to get that fast. I don't do CFOP because I can't spam TPS without hurting myself so I use ZZ - CT and sometimes I use roux. I feel like I've hit a wall but I'm actually satisfied with how far I've gotten. My ultimate goal is to be able to have an average below 10, once I do that I feel like I'll be satisfied. I've also started branching out to other puzzles and for them, I try to find the most move efficient ways of solving them so that I can still compete. For some of them this really works, but for others not so much. Oh well, there's only so much you can do I suppose. Anyway, it's always been great watching your story; it just goes to show that you can pick up a talent at any point in your life.
this doesn't just apply to cubing. This applies for every talent out there. Thanks to this video I feel more motivated to keep cubing and keep my dreams up high. I love singing especially and nearly gave up on it because of judgemental people. But, this video and my friends inspired me to keep going. Amazing message and overall Amazing vlog. Keep up the amazing work tingman!
Tingman you inspired me to pick up my scrambled Rubik’s cube and learn to solve it and now that I see you solve 1000 cubes you’ve influenced me to do the same. Thank you for this amazing content!! And I hope you make it to 1 m subs this year❤❤🎉!!
Congratulations!!! i have been watching for about 4-5 months and have watched basically all your comps. Hope you can get 2000 in the future. Your the best cuber!!! 1. Stay Hydrated. 2. Keep your inspiration and postivity 3. Keep Achieveing your goals!!!
Me solving 47,424 times on 3x3, i dont wanna stop cubing tell i get a sub 6 average, I've been cubing for 3 years now i average 12 now, Cant wait to have a sub 5 single ❤
Not too interested in doing cubing myself but love seeing people do it and glad I happened upon your channel. it’s so cool to see you with your daughter too and how you both are so into it. Also I wanna say congrats on 1000 🎉
You, sir, are a great presenter. I was really moved when you hit 1000 solves. Congratulations, Tingman. You are an inspiration to all of us older folks. I live in hope that I'll eventually be able to solve a Megaminx. Even with the algorithms written out in front of me, I have not succeeded. You give me hope!
What you said about how special it is to hit these goals as an adult really resonated with me. I'm an older cuber (started as an adult 2/3 years ago) and I also have MS, part of what that means is that my fingers get swollen and sore pretty easily so I'm never going to get the times that young solvers get, but I'm now comfortably sub-25 and working towards that sub-20 average. And cubing is less stressful on my body than playing the violin, so it's a nice way to keep my hands moving so they don't feel so slow when I am able to pick up the violin again every now and then. Big congrats on 1000 solves in comp. You've worked hard to get there and it's wonderful to see you hit that goal.
Thanks for the encouragement, and right back at ya! Amazing how you’re pushing through your challenges to keep going. Sub 20 avg is around the corner surely.
A very huge congratulations on your amazing achievement Tingman🎉..... 1000 solves in comp is a lot (for me at least), and your videos inspire everyone irrespective of the age.
I just noticed that you changed the pitch of the ding for every solve(at beginning) to fit with the chord progression changes in the background music! That is genius!
I love following you since I'm in a similar situation as you. I've been cubing for 4 years and I'm 34 years old. I also have two kids, 2 and 4 years old. I havent been to nearly as many comps as you and I'm not as fast but I'm constantly amazed at my own ability to learn and I know I have alot more to give! Thanks Tingman for being an inspiration and motivation for me and other parents who love cubing! ❤
Congratulations Tingman!!! I have watched you since 2020 and now that you've hit 100 solves, I am more motivated to cube more often. Thank oyu so much for the amazing content and all of the motivation, and congrats on 1000 solves!!!

Well, I've always had a dream to become a youtuber. But not just a cubing youtuber, I kind of want my own gaming channel. I've always had a passion for gaming, and I would absolutely love to have an opportunity to make youtube videos and stream on youtube for a living. I'm 13 and I don't want to waste time, so I'm going to ensure that I dint give up on that dream especially since I have so much time to complete that dream. Thank you Tingman, not just for inspiring me but inspiring thousands if not millions of people. I hope you continue this fir years to come.
Congrats on the 1000 solves! I’m a little late to the party but I had to leave you a comment on this one. I love your videos and I recently just got into cubing. And yes I’m not kid lol. I’m 37 years old and I got into cubing as a form of recovery. I am a recovering alcoholic and cubing opened a whole new world in a sense. So to answer your question the one thing I don’t want to give up on is my sobriety and the cubing world gave me that opportunity. Again love the videos! You’re a great father and it’s a joy to watch the relationship you and your kids have. God bless.
This video was honestly an emotional roller coaster 😆(in a good way) This video is so inspiring and your story is one that I will share with many many many others. If I ever fell like giving up I will come back to this video ❤️
Such an inspiring story for all of us. You’ve made such a big impact on the cubing community, not just as a UA-camr, but as an influencer. You influenced me to reach my goal of getting a 3BLD success and what do you know now, I have a 3BLD mean! After I quit cubing in May, your videos influenced me to get back into cubing, and now I am so much better than how fast I was before. Thank you for all the inspiration and what you have given to the cubing community. I would never be where I am now if it wasn’t for you. Although I am a young cuber, I said I would quit cubing after the Canadian championship due to other hobbies but this video is telling me to stay with the cubing community and keep competing. I’ve only been cubing for a year and I have 179 solves done over 10 competitions, I feel influenced to compete more and get more solves done.
