there's a button in the content drawer called add, go to the top of that list and click on import. You can do that or literally just drag your assets onto your folder manually into the content drawer.
So how exactly do I use the assets that I downloaded in the project? do I create a new black project, then drop the files in? do I create an FPS template project? Sorry but this part isn't clear. On my end I'm unable to access the downloaded project as I see in the video
If its not too late I can help, Download the assets Go to your documents or where your unreal 5 project is saved on your computer, then open the content folder and copy it in there

The purpose of all of the beginners courses is due to the engine consistent being updated and more and more new aspiring game developers emerging. Virtus' previous beginner courses are a bit dated now, hence the new one.
When it comes to more advanced stuff, the things you can do with advanced things increases exponentially. Because of this, I find it easier to just look up the thing I'm currently trying to do.
If you could consider teaching how to create a picture-in-picture scope - instead of layering a black crosshair vignette on top of the player's camera - I think that tutorial would be very well received by your community, including me :-) Anyway, looking forward to the future episodes!
Hi, I Imported everything but all textures and materials and everything else unattached from all files, so models without textures, particle effects doesn't work, etc. Someone have a similar problem? I did something wrong?

Know why I would not buy this course or any like it based on this video? Because you do not show a finished product, what we can expect to have at the end of it. Just you talking about what you THINK we will get out of it. Try showing a demo scene with the mechanics and features you are talking about (the quick snippet of the rifle is not enough). Actually running, aiming shooting, interacting, inventory. This video is just of you talking.
I purchased the course and by the end of it theres alot of questions. My ai are saying it has to have simulate physics enabled to have correct line tracing and shooting for the impulse point. But when i activate simulate gravity my character just falls over. Also the enemies arent doing damage to me when shooting me. Is there something i missed ? Also not alot about ai vision and being visible to them which i feel is crucial
am i the only one who gets tons of errors when i try to use any of the things in the assets. like litterly nothing works in the asset, i only get errors
If this keeps going, which I hope it will, could you possibly make a tutorial to have split screen multiplayer and so I’m sort of call of duty zombies-esk game mode down the road? That would be awesome.
when you download the assets there is a sample UE file there and you just open that instead of opening a new project, that sample has all the assets preloaded
You sure can, you'll just need need to make sure you've got your camera lined up currently as part of this video and you'll be good to go! Was there a particular reason you're using a third person camera? Traditionally in FPS games people use both a first person arms mesh and a third person camera. The first person arms being what the player can see and the third person character being what other people see when in multiplayer. I hope that makes sense!
@@VirtusEdu Sorry for the delayed reply I got busy irl, I'm using a third person project due to wanting the player to see their whole body sorta like in battlefield where you can see your body in a first person view, so basically for realism 😂. what you said does make sense.
will you be covering kill counts for explosives ? i.e my gun when i kill an enemy counts 1 enemy killed add 1 to kill count i throw a grenade and kill a random group of enemies and the countis never right i kill 3 it adds 5 i kill 5 it adds 12 im so extremely stuck in my project its not funny

Hey Alleycat, the assets are completely free and you don't even need to provide us with an email address :) If you check on the course in the free preview section, there's a link to download the assets there with no signups needed.

@@VirtusEdu gues you dont get the point its not about this course its about youre lessons overall I get so manny new starters that come to me because the followed youre courses and 9/10 times shit doesnt work and yes the didnt do anything wrong you did i think im currently around a 198 people
@@FlockersDesign That's because the engine has changed significantly in the 2-5 years since uploading some of the old courses. I will be recreating all of the courses but it isn't something that will happen overnight. Be patient and good content will come :)
@@FlockersDesign it’s a big chunk of work remastering tutorials. Plus it never helps the engine was constantly updating. In a year and a half of me using the engine when I started it went through like 12 iterations. I’m sure in a year or two there will be various UE5.X

It is indeed focused on Unreal Engine 5, every video you will see uses Unreal Engine 5 as that is the latest version of the game engine.
Not worth the purchase he leaves so much out. there is alot better tuts for sale this one lacks everything.

when you download the assets there is a sample UE file there and you just open that instead of opening a new project, that sample has all the assets preloaded
Would this still work even if i'm using a Thirdperson character but have the camera in the first person view?
Or course! There may be some minor things you need to change, but those would be like 5min fixes if any :)
You sure can, you'll just need need to make sure you've got your camera lined up currently as part of this video and you'll be good to go!
