I flew back to SAT on this day after leaving Flushing Queens to Dulles and got stranded. Cancelled my flight to SAT since I had to stay the night at a hotel and it's easier to cancel the connecting or entire flight and rebook. Rebooked connected through O'Hare. Got stuck at O'Hare. It was negative 30 degrees and even the inside of O'Hare was cold. Was able to rent a car and find a hotel close to the airport. Finally the next afternoon I left Chicago, got a connection in New Orleans then connected through Houston which was abnormal since United almost always fly directly to San Antonio out of all of it's Hubs since San Antonio is a United 'Hublet" which I didn't know was a thing anywhere. Finally made it home on this day right before Christmas.
Not relevant story, but it's one of those things I've never experienced and don't get much of a chance to talk about it.
