@@pattiburkhart4416 I should have said 1/4" wide, not thick. Like fettucini noodles. The ham I use I got at the grocery deli. I had him cut it into 1/4" slices. Then I sliced that into strips about 1-2" long and fried them up first.
If you have dried egg white protein powder, or egg whites, beef gelatin, and water you can make your own. I almost always make mine and add a few spices. I use indigo nili’s recipe. @@carole3445 . This recipe sounds yummy, I’ll have to try it with the shrimp and then the egg wraps.
The more I eat carnivore the more I am discovering my body really doesn't like low carb veggies. Over the years I was eating so much crap I never knew what was causing me issues. Your recipe sounds perfect just the way it is. I have some frozen cooked lobster in the freezer, and I think this will be an awesome way to use it. Thank you for the idea!!!
I made this at my daughter's house. We made it pescatarian for her, adding broccoli (her request), leaving out the bacon. She doesn't eat meat. It was a huge hit! She asked for the recipe! Thanks for helping Momma impress! PS I thought this recipe was called Mockaroni & Cheese - that's what I called it to the family.
I personally would have added some eggs that would have been the glue that mades it a Mac n chz casserole And you wouldn't have tasted the egg at all. But it really would have been able to cut it....... But great take on flavor with the Bacon and shrimp! I like Havaratti cheese....very light and creamy 😋
@@nancyjackson2279I will probably use Sodium Citrate as well, Serious Keto and ... High Falutin Low Carb both have recipe videos where they use Sodium Citrate to make queso cheese sauce and/or cheese soup. I wanna say ... 3 tsp? for a pot of soup? could have been Tbsp. It's just a mineral salt so I will count it as a dose of electrolytes, LOL🤣
I found the best cheese combo for mac n cheese is half and half sharp cheddar cheese and the Lucerne 6 Cheese Italian Blend add a teaspoon of sodium citrate to the cream will make it smooth and creamy also a dash of turmeric for the yellow color and extra flavor. I bet chicken Brest ground into a paste with egg yolks and mozzarella cheese in a food processor with a little salt then formed into noodles boiled in water then partially dehydrated to give it the al dente texture then baked in the cheese sauce would make a great macaroni replacement.
In the oven now, and I understand when she said, at every stage she wants to taste test. I’ve been on meat only for 8 weeks and my body needs something different, I think this is the answer.
We have enjoyed several of your recipes, this one included😊 We don’t enjoy shrimp so we have substituted with ground beef and canned chicken…not together 😂 Also delicious using these ingredients.
I made this recipe for my sister and her kids when I was visiting..They usually won't eat keto or carnivore recipes for my sister (they're teenagers). They totally loved this Mac n Cheese and asked me make up another dish so they could have leftovers. My sister and I want to thank you for coming up with this tasty recipe.
Drooling over this recipe! What a great idea then at the end when you casually tossed out that you use lunchmeat as lasagna noodles my eyes lit up! I did that once in 2012 and totally forgot about it after that! I need to make this mac & cheese AND the lasagna idea too. Thanks for all the clever tips and tricks.
I made this last night. I used a combination of aged sharp cheddar and aged swiss which I grated myself. I was afraid I hadn't simmered the cheese sauce long enough because it was really runny. I topped with bacon, pork crumbs and parm. I didn't have any after baking, but rather covered it and refrigerated overnight. Heated a bit up this morning and it's good, just a bit salty for my taste. Now I understand why you cut in pork belly, to reduce the sodium. I'll make it again and maybe do 1/2 bacon 1/2 pork belly. Thank you!
Couldn't wait to try this. The sauce turned out pretty thick even after adding a bit more hwc, but it turned out great. I'll be cooking this again and again!
i use a blend of cheeses but one must be sharp cheddar. i'd probably stretch it with some boneless chicken thighs or pork shoulder chunks (aka carnitas)
I made this Carnivore "Mac N Cheese" today using Monterey Jack cheese. A real hit with my family! Now they are counting on having it for special family get-togethers. Thank you Joe and Rachel for the recipe.
Diced up chicken would be a good way to bulk it up and still keep it carnivore. I have everything but the shrimp, so I’m running to the store!!! This looks so good!!
I made this with wild red Argentinian shrimp and cut them in half after cooking them. I halved the recipe for my family of 4. Everyone loved it, even my husband and daughter that don’t always like shrimp. This will be a Thanksgiving side dish and a meal I make for company. It’s so good!
When I swapped to carnivore, I invested in my own hand cranked cheese shredder. Pre shredded cheese can have a lot of added stuff to it to keep it from clumping. With a nice shredder it takes only minutes. Highly recommended
I made this last night. I used Colby and Mild Cheddar blocks I shredded myself. My husband is/was a big Velveta fan. When he makes mac & cheese he uses Velveta, he knows I'm not a fan of it. He took his first bite of Carnivore Mac & Cheese and asked. What kind of cheese did you use? It tastes like Velevta. I laughed and said No you know I don't use Velveta. Now I know how to make a cheese sauce that will taste like Velevta but be good for you. I'm going to use this cheese sauce to make cheese dip as well because he likes to use Velveta in that too. Thank you so much for all you two do to help us make comfort food Keto.
I used to love Newk’s Eatery’s pimento cheese and bacon macaroni and cheese. It consisted of Pimento Cheese, Asiago, Vermont white cheddar, Parmesan and Ammerländer Swiss cheeses and bacon folded into elbow pasta then topped with yellow cheddar and more bacon. I also loved pulled pork Mac and smoked brisket Mac. I can’t wait to try some variation on using shrimp as the macaroni.
Sliced Deluxe American Cheese (1-2 slices) can provide the sodium citrate smoothness for the sauce, for those who didn’t want to purchase the seemingly huge bag of sodium citrate for (like, a lifetime of) cheese sauces. This recipe looks Ridiculously good! Thanks so much!
This looks great! This would be great for me, but my sister is deathly allergic to crustaceans. But I have seen a recipe using ground chicken to make gnocchi shaped "noodles" for Mock&Cheese.
I just made this for dinner. I usually don't like shrimp and cheese together so was very skeptical, but I was very pleasantly surprised. I would definitely make this again. Hubby is on his 2nd bowl! 😂❤
Mine is in the oven!!!!!! I did add cauliflower i cooked it a bit on the instapot on the remaining bacon bits that were left behind ;)- is used sharp cheddar and Colby Jack (my own blend- putting the food processor to good use haha), I put some fresh Thyme in my cheese sauce and Parmesan on top - ohhhhh so yum - I cannot wait to try it! Thank you so much!!!!
Another AMAZING recipe! This looks absolutely amazing! I definitely want to give this a try! I think I'll add some cauliflower, too. I'm a huge fan of loaded cauliflower casserole and this looks very similar. 😋
Made this for dinner yesterday, it was flippin’ delicious. I used exactly the same ingredients you did… Not sure how much like macaroni the shrimp tasted, but like you said they’re kinda the right texture. Thanks for the easy recipe! 😊
I haven't read further to see if anyone else commented, but don't put the shrimp directly in the water. Put the packages in the water, shrimp will thaw and you just drain it without diluting the shrimp by soaking it in water.
I made mac & cheese using Egglife Wraps. I cut them into strips about 2 inches long and about 1/4" thick. I added ham. It was so good.
Fabulous idea!!!!! And m stealing it!

I’ll have to try this!!! I’ve made lasagna with them. Even picky nonketo family members loved it.
We do not have egglife wraps in Canada!

Remember a small amount of Sodium Citrate can keep your cheese sauce from separating!
What's a small amount?

Oh my yummy!! Wheni used to make my cheese sauce I added fresh ground pepper and grate a little fresh nutmeg.
Me, too! I'm adding all these suggestions to my recipe!

I am off to the supermarket to buy some prawns, I want to eat this right now! Yum!
Wow. Gonna try this. Update. It's delicious!
thank you
That sounds like an excellent cheese sauce for lots of recipes. Thanks for sharing!
This sounds great! Is there a recipe link? I can’t find it.
Here it is 3 weeks later, and I can't find it either.
Just shared this on Facebook. This will be a good one to keep around!
It’s delicious! I added a chopped scallion, a bit of dry mustard and a few shots of hot sauce.
i use a blend of cheeses but one must be sharp cheddar. i'd probably stretch it with some boneless chicken thighs or pork shoulder chunks (aka carnitas)
I'd consider adding egg yolk to the cheese sauce to thicken it while hot.
Oooh, i can't wait! Thanks, you two!
Brilliantt recipe! I will likely use Jarlsberg or sharp cheddar and add a pinch of mustard powder.
Excellent idea!
I'm am do excited to try this. I just saw Mission Keto gives you guys a rave review for this recipe. Stoked.
This is genius!
Thanks
I’m going to try making it with crab!
Ok….I see you Rachel and Joe! Lol mac and cheese is one of my most missed meals and I’m trying this! Thanks for the inspiration! 🎉❤
Mine too! Gonna try this!

I used pepperjack cheese and next time will add jalapenos

Gotta try this one, but I will do it with the sharp cheddar

I'm thinking chicken flour for the "bread" topping. Also thinking about making actual noodles using chicken flour in a regular noodle recipe. 🤔
Love this!!

“Mock-a-roni” & Cheese! I LOVE IT!! 😂😂😂

What a great idea! And yes that cheese sauce looks good enough to eat on a boot 😉
Holy Mockaroni batman! I'm going to make this!!!

Where did you get your casserole dishes? I remember the one you all used for the French toast bake. I love blue dishes like this.
It's called Temptations, and it is sold on QVC. Sometimes I find them at close out stores too.
temptations
Holy smokes!!! I am in to this recipe. I wouldn’t change a thing!!!!
Is the recipe posted?
😮 WOW! Can’t wait to make and eat 😊thank you
I tried the CarnivorousChef version which uses ground chicken and eggs for the noodles. I though it worked pretty well as far as texture goes.
I'm going to add this to my holiday carnivore menu ideas.
Genius❣️
I used swiss cheese now I am waiting almost patiently for the browning to happen. I wish we could still add a picture. Yumm....
Love this ideah😂❤❤
I signed up for the BBBE course because I eat too much cheese now I want to make this before I start 😂

I’m saving this recipe to bring a dish to Thanksgiving or Christmas. Thanks for the great idea guys!

Making this now, A little skeptical hopeful. If Joe and Rachael created this, I think it’ll taste great.
Hmmm just began watching this, so interesting. I never thought about shrimp as pasta😂 I'm really wanting to make this already. Thank you.
I’m making this tonight using duck bacon and langoustino and some smoked cheese. Can’t wait.
