I think this song is basically saying "don't wish your life away, it'll all get here soon enough"...I'm on the downhill run from 50, and sometimes it's like, if I could go back and know then what I know now, things might be different...but you can't go back, and even if you could, would you want to change anything? I don't know that I would, it's the lessons you learn on the way that make you who you are... thanks Billy for the great music you've been doing lately, have a good one mate :))
Im 18 and a firefighter. I know what it feels like to think you know everything but I learned at an early age to not ignore wisdom. Just keep your eyes on God and youll be fine, there ups and downs but God will always be there.
That is a very wise point of view at 18. Keep it up, there are many doors that God will open to you because of it!! And thank you for being a fire fighter!!😇😁
Im watching this 2 days after u posted it. Im currently 18 and....i used to feel like i knew where my life was goin...then life pulled the rug out beneath my feet the hardest and took my mom away from me. I love country music cuz a lot of the songs i can relate to....but not in a good way.
Im 18 at the time of watching this video. I want to thank you Billy you bring so much life into this world. Your advice has helped me grow into a man. I'm headed to army boot camp this fall and you inspired me to serve for my country. So thank you helped my dad wake me up and god bless you.
I found Thomas Rhett through you Billy...I LOVE his songs. They always have a lot of meaning and great storytelling. I totally agree with you about thinking you know it all at 16...I wish I could go back...time goes so fast.... :((
I’m 20 and what you said was spot on. Also this song is only a few years old but the artist is in his 30’s. At 16 I was a multi sport honor student working towards med school. Now I’m half way through my teaching degree
When I was 16 I was working hard on school, in Girl Scouts, in marching band and stage band, and I spent a lot of time taking care of my mom (she was blind and had severe breathing problems).
I’m 17 and can’t believe it... I wish I could go back in time and enjoy my younger years...life was going so slow and then all of a sudden I’m going into my senior year of high school ...
16? I was sneaking the free food from school all week to share and eat on the weekends. So at 32 I'm totally crushing the food in the fridge goal I set for when I grew up lol
UA-cam didn't exist when I was 16. I did something crazy me and my friends hung out, outside no phones or computers we had fun and didn't stare at screens all day.
18 in college and my teachers all say they hate when a student comes in thinking they now everything and when I come in they are kinda happy when I say I know nothing
Everyone goes through this experience, “If I was just ‘this’ old”, then the number changes, and it changes again. Now that I’m in my mid-30s I’m good, time can go ahead and stop making me older. Not gonna happen, but I learned my lesson… crazy to think I’ll be 40 in the not too distant future. I remember being stupid at 16, even though I kinda knew I was being stupid, but it didn’t matter… what’s the worst that can happen?
I am 23 and yep I definitely know all those feelings. It's funny to think of when I was eighteen feeling like I knew all this shit and was annoyed when I was treated like a kid. Well I was a kid 😂 honestly probably still am compared to a lot of other people lol
When I was 16, I was engaged to my high school sweetheart, no baby on the way or anything we just knew we wanted to get married. Married him 5 days after my 18th birthday and we are still happily married almost 13 years later!
Some are old enough to enough to know or have had 8-Track tapes I was always in my books at 16, I could have graduated with a GED, but I pushed forth to get my diploma, you need 135 highschool credits to graduate, when I graduated in 1998 (18) I had 285
When I was 16 I was excited because I was getting to go out on dates , but to my horror StepDad had to talk to dates first and scared them 😂 he was all bark and no bite. But found a guy who didn’t run and listened respectively. And it was easier to meet boys or dates at skating ring.
18 wild n free ... um no I had a 2 week old on that bday. 21 had 2 kids. BTW I was before the burned CD (said it before you) and also said those unsupervised nights is what got me Prego (although that was 17).... geeze at 16 . .... my parents were splitting after 18 yrs, I was failing highschool, had no plans for the future except wanting to have a better family and be the best mom, and having a group of friends so different from each other but so close and loving they were my fam. now at 41, 5 kids 1 granddaughter later, strained and non existent relationships with my kids and divorced, no assets, no college degree or Carrer ( despite pulling 4.0 last semester highschool and 145 IQ score) barely surviving on SSI disability stuck once again in a relationship that's toxic, no friends, and fam just left state in Jan. I wish so much I could be 16 again... knowing what I know now ID CHANGE SOOOOOO MUCH!
When I was 16 I had runaway from home and went to New Orleans me and a buddy of mine lied about our age and got a job at Avondale ship yard this was in 65 and so it took a week before they figured it out so then we went to work at Fallusos supermarket bagging groceries anybody from New Orleans in their late 50s or 60s will know the places I am talking about
At 16 i was goin to school.. I was skating around town... Goin to concerts... Was in a crappy punk band.... Bein the only straight edge guy at the parties... Doin a lot of frenchin, but no doin the nasty haha
I really love this song but I don't necessarily agree that I know everything I'm 22 almost 23 I wouldn't say I know everything at all definitely still learning I would say I understand a hell of a lot more compared to when I was younger I would say I had my know-it-all Phase and my teen years
At 16 I was riding with my man he belonged to a biker club. I was drinking and having a ball. Had a baby at 18. Then went to college to be a Medical Lab technician
I think this song is basically saying "don't wish your life away, it'll all get here soon enough"...I'm on the downhill run from 50, and sometimes it's like, if I could go back and know then what I know now, things might be different...but you can't go back, and even if you could, would you want to change anything? I think of my son every time I listen to this song. His bass is always way to loud in his truck. I love jamming out to it.
I will never not love a Thomas Rhett reaction 😍
When I was 16, I was engaged to my high school sweetheart, no baby on the way or anything we just knew we wanted to get married. Married him 5 days after my 18th birthday and we are still happily married almost 13 years later!
