I plan on joining the Air Force soon I just don’t know what career I wanna do but lately I’ve been interested in fire fighting but idk if that’s what I wanna do so as mush information as I can get would be awesome cause that’s the only thing I’m having trouble with is idk what I wanna do in the Air Force
I recently took my asvab and scored a 44 and qualified for 71 jobs including fire fighter and I was wondering what do I need to do to get ready if I can get that job
Best thing I'd recommend, get on a volunteer department if you're able to. Get some experience and knowledge, then you'll shine at the academy and shine at your base. Good luck friend!
I’m currently starting my enlistment process right now and should be going to MEPS sometime this week or next week. I put Fire Protection as my #1 choice and my recruiter said she wants to work with me to get that job. I did 3 years of JROTC in high school and have a letter of recommendation from my Commander and my recruiter said that the letter will help me get Fire Protection. Can I wait for a Fire Protection spot to open up or will I have to sign one of the other jobs I listed if they come around sooner? Love the videos, keep up the good work!
Just a question, you beeing a firefighter for the airforce, do you get the same military training and weapon training as the regular airforce, and also regular firefighter training as regular firefighters or is it only one or the other? Btw ur editing is fantastic!! Love it.
I’m debating fire protection or security forces, this seems to be more interesting than driving around or scanning IDs. Could you make a pros or cons of fire protection?
Do y’all have to be licensed medics or just EMT-B and I doubt it because I thought I saw a jump bag in the backseat of the truck but do you all have to ride the unit or do you respond to medical calls in the truck
Alfredo Moreno after tech school you have FF I/II, ARFF, Hazmat awareness and ops, and ECA. Upgrade trading is D/O ARFF, D/O Pumper, and D/O MWS. After that it’s up to you how far you go.

Pretty common at stateside bases. If they don’t offer it, once you complete your upgrade training, you can ask about getting into a class off base if they can support it.
I was talking to a recruiter, and he said it was really hard to get into firefighting in the military. How did you go about getting into a firefighter position?
I think its because the actual job rarely comes around, I'm in the same boat as you well I already took my ASVAB scored well and I'm waiting for my second trip to MEPS and waiting to pick Fire Protection as my job. My recruiter did mention if that is what I really want that it will be a wait but I'm willing to wait it out!

I have to make up my mind if I'm going to serve a 2 year mission for my church and then join when I get back, or just join right now.
When you get to training, if you go for the fastest time you’ll wear out and may not finish. Go for smoothness. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast. From BMT through your whole career, accidents come from multiple mistakes piling up.
Josie Lewandowski depends on the amount of years of service and what rank you are. That pay will come with someone with usually around 15 years of service or more and a rank of E-8 or higher. That’s my rough guess.

Tyrone Hawkins if you have your certifications already it’s much easier. I was in a similar situation when I joined up, just be flexible on your ship out date and hold to the job you want.

This was really helpful, I ship out for BMT in August and fire protection was my top choice

Coming out of tech school you will be an EMR. However in the future Chief Wagner is pushing for us to all be EMT-B’s.

It's easier to become a DoD Firefighter, and most civilian departments award you 5-10 bonus points on the entrance exam. So, yes.
