- Bonus "As Noted!" This piece was NOT featured on the actual soundtrack album for AC SYNDICATE though does appear in the game. It was the original ending before swapping for the song "Underground" (written with the geniuses of Tripod). It moved to the pause menu as a result and lives as a bonus track.
In total well over 90 minutes of music I wrote for the game was left off the album so this is just the tip of the iceberg!

Probably the best thing about the game was your music, and I could never thank you enough for it. My top 3 would probably be Underground, It’s Business Mr Frye and Jokes Jokes Jokes. I don’t think there are any bad OSTs at all, without your music, I would have probably not enjoy the game as much as I did, and you also kept the tradition of great music in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Thank you and congratulations! 😊
This is my favourite track of the game actually. I noticed it on the menu and thought it was beautiful and learned it on the piano. I also adore what you did on journey. Thank you for your music Austin.
Thank you so much! I wrote during a particularly introspective period and I guess it came through. I'd say the piece is pretty genuine to where I was. So happy you learned to play it!
The music in this game was so on-point with the atmosphere. Probably one of, if not my top, favorite videogame OST.
It’s really beautiful. No wonder I felt something was amiss with some AC Syndicate soundtracks.
I’d appreciate your music especially Underground
Well....now I have to install the game and play it again.
Thank you for posting these again! The music in this game is just so fitting an unique. I really liked it from start on. It took me a bit long to realise that you played around with the main theme a lot, especially at 0:53.
And on 01:22, the „know thyself“ Erica theme is already peeking through a little bit :).
There's no question that "Bloodlines" being referenced here is accurate but the ERICA grazing is funny! Never noticed!
sometimes, i started up syndicate just to open the pause menu, sit there and listen to this song. but now i know this video exists.
i really love your soundtracks, thank you so much for all of your great music :)
Hopefully you get another call to do another AC OST, Syndicate's is right up there with the best
This fits great in the pause menu as well, but it's still a pity this was cut from the final scene, it's somehow calm, eerie and desperate. I think it would have fit the final scene better than Underground, the latter being perfect for the credits anyway. Love the harmonics and those repeated g's in the right hand!
This appears to be in g minor. Is there any paticular reason there are no flats notated at the beginning of each line?
Interesting perspective but I definitely disagree; I thought the choice to put "Underground" in the end (which was the music supervisor Christian Pacaud's idea!) is great. Never would have thought of it myself. The scene was too quick-moving in the final cut relative to the original idea for this piece to work. Anyway, glad you like it :)
And yes it's mostly G-minor but I never use key signatures. It's just a habit from session recording, where they actually make it more difficult to learn quickly
@@awintory OMG, I just went back to the other As Noted videos and you are right! (one could almost think you composed it, ha)
No key signatures! How could I not have seen this?!
My main problem with Underground in the finale was that it is not intended to be the main point of attention, it's so good it distracted me from the rest of the game, haha.
This is pretty underrated compared to other tracks in the game. It's gotta be my favorite track for sure
I loved the music in this game. you are an Austin genius. The music of this game reminds me of the influences of many different composers like Saint-Saëns. :)
the 3/3 part of the video kinda reminds me of Gymnopédie n°1 by Satie
You are a genious
Majestic as always
Sooo good!
Could anyone imagine this as an alternative theme for AMC's "The Terror"? Both were Victorian set pieces.
Amazing Score even after all these years. Just gives me nostalgic and peaceful vibes. It sounds so loving yet so sad. Bravo!
Thank you so much 🙏
Is there a direct PDF download for the sheet music for this piano piece? It is truly amazing and I would love to learn it.
Sadly you'll have to rely on this :\
More Syndicate coming up?
Oh yes :) Any special requests?
@@awintory I'd like to see what is happening in one of the "busier" cues, so any of those...But I really like how you transition into the main theme in "Danza alla Daggers". ;)
@@J-MLindeMusic Might be a bit before we have that exact one in on deck BUT some of those are coming :)
@@awintory Awesome, really loving these kind of videos from you!
So *this* is the track in particular from menu!
Found this thanks to a commenter on different video haha
I really wish this was on spotify... Amazing work btw!
it is now
@@Alphys- really?
@@Alphys- Where is it, I couldn't find it anywhere
@@huynhanhtuan4098 The playlist is on spotify, sadly i just found out this song isn't in that playlist.
I really love this piece and I'm trying to learn it on piano but what were your ideas behind the soundtrack of this game because it perfectly captures the era in my opinion?
The short version is that it was all about capturing the darkness b/w Jacob and Evie amid this big transitional period of time, AND on top of that capture their lighter-than-air quality. They're like two cats springing on their toes.
Of course THIS particular piece doesn't really reflect that :P
@@awintory I think I recognized this during the fight soundtrack but I really liked this piece because of the desperate and thinkable accents btw keep up the great work👍
Love u Man, greetings to Angela
Wher can i find this song?
Here! :) Not released elsewhere
@@awintory ok thank you, it‘s a great song
I love this one, it’s so good it’s almost haunting. I’m only gonna say it’s brilliant and I’m really sad it only appeared in the menu, it fits the mood amazingly, love your work!
Glitches & Bugs aside, Austin Wintory made the best music for this game, its so good, pianos, violins cellos and more, This music, is so beautiful.
Thank you Austin
Very kind!
