Assassin's Creed Syndicate - Bloodlines (main theme) - As Noted

- In 2015 I had the honor of scoring the Victorian London-based entry to Ubisoft's mega-franchise: ASSASSIN'S CREED SYNDICATE. The score was one of the most difficult to write I've ever taken on, but in the end one of the most rewarding. I'll be sharing many excerpts from it in this series, but for now, the main theme where the score starts: "Bloodlines."
Featuring Iain Farrington (piano), Sandy Cameron (violin) and Tina Guo (cello).

Every single time I boot-up the game, and the soundtrack starts playing, I won’t click start. Because this is just too goddamn good to skip.
Extremely beautiful soundtrack . You wouldn't believe it if I told you how much better the game is because of it
Today is my birthday and I think this is the best gift I could have recieved. Thanks, Austin.
Happy birthday!
Simply (or complexly?) beautiful. The duality and partnership between the violin and cello make Syndicate one of the most emotionally gripping OSTs in the franchise (for me at least). The performances and the compositional decisions behind the notes really take it home.
Thanks man, and cheers specifically re: the performers. Sandy and Tina are the soul of ACS :)
One of my favorite Assassins Creed games. I purchased the soundtrack and Bloodlines stood out to me with its personal touch. Amazing work Austin!
Thank you so much... more coming!
When i first heard the score, it didn’t really grow on my. But the more i listen, the better it gets! I’m even going as far that this is one of the best soundtracks in the franchise!
Well done!
I've had that experience with many scores before and so I get it. Thank you so much!!
When I hear Bloodlines, all the great memories come back. Thank you so much Austin!
So simple... but so beautiful 😍
As someone from Montevideo, Uruguay, South America, from the region where Tango was born, I deeply appreciate this soundtrack, thanks for this
Thank you for delivering a master piece
it's so beautiful thx Austin👏
this is ... BEAUTIFUL! ❤✨ (greetings from Mexico uwu)
This is an amazing score. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I observed a sort of duality throughout the piece between the cello and the violin, especially towards the end. And that very dense contrapuntal section in the middle really reminded me of Brahm's chamber trios. Really passionate writing yet methodical and thought-out at the same time
The cello and violin are representative of Evie and Jacob Frye respectively, so you're not wrong at all :)
I adore Brahms though there isn't an intentional reference here.
@@awintory Your love for Brahms shows! Amazing piece, thank you for answering
Absolutely stunning piece
That is beautiful. Reminds me a lot of the music by Gerald Finzi. I really love what you're doing, Austin!
Because of the story Assassin's Creed Black Flag is my second favorite in the franchise. (yes, i have played them all except Odyssey, ew)
Because of the soundtrack Assassin's Creed Syndicate is my first favorite in the franchise.
That's very generous.
I actually really enjoyed ODYSSEY fwiw!
1:01 This part always gives me chills; beautifully written.
Also why end with that note at 1:29? I'm just curious because, in the most polite way, it felt like an outsider and unpleasing..
Because it's not a happy story :)
Genius ❤️
I remember playing this in 2015😫😭😭😭😭😭
Finally! The best AC soundtrack imo. I was wondering what where the influences on this, if it’s possible to say?
Nothing intentional with this piece specifically. Eventually the score took on a Mendelssohn-esque quality as a little bit of a nod to the mid-19th century but the theme just flowed out of the ideas of Jacob and Evie, and their thoughts re: the father
@@awintory interesting! If something had reminded me of the tone, then it would have been the shostakovich piano trios, but that's how subjectivity works. It sounds truly original anyways
Amazing!
Wow!
You know, as beautiful as the main theme is, I always found the alternate piano melody from the main menu ( ua-cam.com/video/YLCimWIdgOs/v-deo.html ) even more haunting. It has so much of this quiet sadness that is always in the back of my mind whenever I picture Victorian London. This melody paired with the perilous, dancing combat arrangements are the two sides of the Syndicate soundtrack in my opinion. Truly a master's work!
Wighen Tionamee thank you so much! You helped me find it lol
I thought it sounded similar but not quite the same
Now I know why
1:00 best part
U are awesome sir austion
It seems I made an unscheduled stop on this video
Ни одного дизлайка!
This thing just feels how syndicate story actually is.. Its just sounds so nostalgic.
