I ride a 06 cbr600rr and it is definitely recommended that you change the crush washer atleast every 2nd oil change. It's not a normal washer, it is softer and flattens when used! I hope you never get a oil leak. Also you can loosen the radiator reservoir, in order to get the oil filter out easier.
There is a space between the headers right above the drain bolt you can remove the oil filter from there instead of squeezing it,i prefer to remove the coolant reservoir tho its just one bolt,Cheers nice vid.
@@dirigent7854 this is worst oil yoi can add for street use. Unless you exchange it by every few hours. This oil was meant for racing and not to have good lifetime protection. Just use Motul 7100 or similar.
Take of the reservoir you need to clean around the filter for loose dirt before you take it off that can eazy fall in to the engine when you take filter off
The coolant bottle comes off with one bolt and requires a 10mm socket, don't force any thing. AND DONT START YOU'RE BIKE WITHOUT OIL. WOW. ITS GOOD PRACTICE 👍
I started it for a couple seconds to release more of the old oil, this will not cause damage to your motor as its not on long enough to create damage. This is a very common technique among mechanics.
You can run motors with no oil to flush the remaining oil out of galleries in the motor and oil filter for a short time. It won't overheat instantly. Mechanics do it all the time during a service and it's still not necessarily empty. A Skyline R32 would run with no oil exactly the same. I have personally seen them run with no oil before while giving them quick scrutiny checks before track days.
Maybe you got taught the wrong way but your meant to tap the starter button a few times to make the oil pump push some extra oil out. I would not recommend turning it on due to oil starvation of vital parts. Next time take oil filter off as well to get even more oil out but again do not start it it’s not necessary just tap the starter a few times it’s far less risky and in any case you will never truly get it all the old oil out so it’s pointless.
Good idea with the tinfoil, but dude, just unscrew one bolt of coolant reservuar and it will come out easy. It's kinda stupid to damage reservuar plastic...
Oskars Brokans yeah I just drained mine today and the previous owner had damaged the reservoir. Nothing major but I felt better taking the bolt out. Previous owner knew nothing! The date on the oil filter was 2013! So it should run great after this.
I used this oil and filter like you said but after about a minute in idle smoke started coming out from the engine bay!! I’m worried bro you know why that can be????!!
Urban Legend405 I used the rotella shit too and 50 miles later my engine wouldn’t idle. I had to use the throttle to keep my bike on. I switched back to motorcycle oil and let my bike sit for 7-10 days. Started it and it idled. Rode it for two weeks and the same problem came back. Oil was on my spark plugs also so that means this shit burned my piston rings. I’m letting the bike sit again and gonna see if I can get it started again. If not then time for a rebuild I guess
Another Rotella oil user...Riders don't let other riders Use Rotella. You can spout off all the scientific mumbo jumbo you want, but when it comes to Revs meeting the road, Rotella doesn't hold up, it's why your Rotella Oil is black after only 500 miles of hard riding. It breaks down much to fast under the extreme heat of constant 15k RPM's. It's why the AMA doesn't allow it on any track period. The how how to part was good, except it takes 30 extra seconds to take off the Coolant reservoir, so you don't damage it, it's pretty thin plastic. Either grow that thing or shave it off :-)
Wrong oil to save next to no money..... and you just need to loosen the coolant reservoir to move out of the way. Replace the crush washer for the sakes of a tiny price and check the level when the bike is sat level. Don't give advice if you don't know what you're doing.....
HP4 IS TJE BEST OIL FOR YOUR BIKE DONT GET SOMETHING CHEAP THAYS GONNA MESS UP THE ENGINE. MOTOR OIL IS DIFFERENT FROM ENGINE OIL FOR MOTOCYCLE. DO YOUR RESEARCH PEOPLE. YOU GOT A WET CLUTCH THAT NEEDS THE RIGHT OIL.

Pulled this up in Canadian tire for my new CBR600, grabbed everything 🤙🏻
Just use Motul or other high quality oil and NEVER start the engine without oil.
MOTUL 300V 10w-40 😉👍

Good vid man but I would NEVER start up the engine with the crankcase 99% empty.... Bad Idea. Imo

Hi can I unscrew the bolt for the reservoir and move it to the side without having to train the coolant ?
الله ينور عليك
DO NOT start you engine without oil
I agree. Running the engine with no oil, even for a few seconds, is a lot worse for you engine than a few small drops of old oil left in it
