The Radial HDI - I would never need to record an amp again and still get amazing sounding distortion from a custom overwound Jensen transformer while also getting super clean DI sound if I want
I'd really just love to have a u87. I was able to use one recently and it blew all my mics out of the water. I know the wa87 is pretty legit too. you have used both extensively, right? could i swing a wa87 and get close to that u87 result?
Great video! I love this new series. I must say that this desk is the coolest desk I've ever seen. He got home late at night from his trip so I was expecting him to go right to sleep, however when I woke up in the morning, everything was all set up haha. Idk how he did it on his own so quickly, but he did it. It's extremely sturdy and one of my favorite aspects are the cable-hiding capabilities; there are so few cables on the floor now because of the cable storage/routing in this desk. After seeing this desk over Graybox (one of my favorite of Andrew's studio tour videos) we have been blown away by DangerFox. Good job guys - and thank you DangerFox for being so kind and hospitable to Andrew during his visit. He had nothing but great things to say about your business and lovely family.

I love my desk like you said it feel great and allows me to work longer and faster in some cases. From the moment you take the pieces out the box you know you’re dealing with quality. I was even lucky enough to get their new extra bay for underneath the desk.

Great review Andrew! It's actually really impressive. I built my own desk (with no wood working experience) and I can tell you firsthand, even a simple desk can be complicated to build lol. I can't imagine building something like this, or how long it'll take to complete.
My desk felt like it would drive me completely insane. That thing humbled me lol. But their desk is truly, truly beautiful. Thank you for getting more eyes on it.

It found a new home with a fellow drummer in Nashville. Yeah this is definitely the nicest I've seen in the studios I've visited. I'm so happy with it, looking forward to filling it up with some goodies.

Yeah for sure, my posture is better for sure. I like the height more as well as my wrists and forearms feel much better with this setup.

Excellent addition to the studio, the only feature that would make it “MoBetter”lol was the powered height adjustment ( one of the studios you toured had it ) where you could make it a sit or standing work station, other than that, very nice desk brother!!
dude - good point. that being said, his monitor can go high or low with that arm and they make desktop risers so... it would potentially be a standup desk by just moving up the keyboard and mouse? idk.
Yeah I'm torn on the whole standing desk thing. Especially when it comes to mix position and how I set up my situation. At my old studio the speakers sit on the console and then you have a side table (standing) that has the computer monitor/keyboard/mouse. I might be there someday. But until then. I shall sit.

Gorgeous desk! I love my Argosy, but this is sweet for sure and looks super intelligently designed. The two level front shelf is genius! When you start filling that thing up, I’m gonna say do yourself a favor and check out the Heritage HA-609A. Absolutely killer for both the box tone and the processing, and lord knows you’ve got enough rack space now. 😉

My epic studio gear would probably be found mostly in a mic locker. You do a great job on your videos. This is a very nice studio desk, everything looks very beefy, which is very important. That's a funky fastening system they use too. The keyboard drawer sliders are probably extra heavy duty. Building it in modules makes it an easier build as well. And you can route and hide all your cables. Awesome! This was a very well thought out design. I make furniture for a hobby and my studio partner owns a furniture building company. We've been looking at different studio desk builds to make one for our studio. My buddy really loves this design to the point where he said we should just buy this one rather than build...but he knows what the costs are and how long it takes to make and can't justify spending that much. That said, this is worth every bit of what they want for it because the materials and Dangerfox's design, craftsmanship and labor justifies it. I'd buy this.

Yes, it is very important to have your desk very comfortable, beautiful and ergonomic. With all of that you want to sit at your desk longer and enjoy your workflow.

It’s just a mount from apple. It’s called Mac mini mount I believe

Sick desk! Love the wood. I’ve got Argosy Dual-15KL (L = Long). Nice desk but even with the Mahogany trim it’s not as ‘warm’ and inviting as yours.

I'm looking for such a desk with rack spaces and keyboard tray for 88 Keys BUT with an electric Sit to Stand Option because I've got issues with my back. But it seems like no one offers something like this. And it would be great if the desk is made in High Glossy white like the Sessiondesk

I’ve been looking for a new desk, and this checks every box! I was wondering though, how have the sound reflections been? Have you noticed any issues? I know some desks can cause more problems with reflections from monitors than others.
Great question, I haven't had any issues with that. I would recommend either getting some iso acoustic stands for the monitors if you're using the speaker shelves, or if possible just use speaker stands. I'm saving up for some sound anchors which dangerfox is a dealer of as well. Really high end stands.

I like it. Reminds me of the Argosy 50 Series V consoles. Very nice, and very pricey Danger Fox. So, after using the Output desk you must have had some problems with it to abandon it? Was ready to pull the trigger on one this week, as it seems the most versatile for producer/writer...not to mention COST effective!
That's a beautiful desk! How deep is the wrist rest and then how deep(maybe I mean width) is the keyboard/mouse part of the desk? Basically how much actual desk space is there and what not

@@AndrewMasters it actually wasn’t but I was able to find really detailed dimensions on their reverb listing for the desk. In case anyone was wondering it’s about 13” from the edge of the wrist rest to the start of the rack and the wrist rest is around 3.5” wide

Much cheaper and easy to sound treat. And you can always "mute" the video feed into the room
if your making faces at the talent.. but mainly cheaper and better sounding..
i hate to ask this, but what monitor is that? you got the link for the arm but not the monitor. i'm looking for something that works well with a mac mini and i'm assuming yours does. i'm currently running an old sharp 1080p tv. on my dangerfox 16u though! thanks man.

Excellent video, thanks. I first thought these looked amazing value, but once you add in the keyboard tray and the monitor platforms these are more than Argosy's.
Yeah they aren't "cheap" that's for sure. Main difference I can tell is the quality of the build, compared to an argosy, it's much stronger and nicer wood and construction. But yeah you definitely pay for the extra quality. I bet you could also get the desk and buy the keyboard tray later to save a bit up front.

Question.... How do you get your mac mini to power up from the furman/power strip? I have to manually turn mine own everytime.
I don't think I've turned my computer off more than 10 times since I got it. It stays on sleep if I'm not using it. The back of my desk is also extremely accessible so if for some reason I need to change something it's very easy.

Is Dangerfox still in business? I ordered in February and at the end of November still havent gotten my desk. No replies to email, no phone number, no address on their website. Comments turned off on their pages (YT) ,Sweetwater says they have delivered any.. Feeling like this is a $5000 scam.

Well...I'm sure it's going to be great once I get it. It's going on 17 weeks now and it's next to impossible to get any information on the status of my order. I have heard the stories about how long it takes and the difficulty with getting any feedback, but after it finally arrives, all is forgiven. Meanwhile, I sit and wait...and wait...and finally call...but nobody takes the call. When checking on the status all I get is "awaiting fulfillment" whatever that means. Great product. World class workmanship. Bad communication.

Yes the keyboard drawer fits an 88 key, and they have two different height drawers for some of the taller keyboards. I will say I love the desk 100% more without the keyboard drawer.

Waited months for mine. Occasional response to update requests was "we're out of wood." Just terrible experience. I had to call my bank to get a refund.

I had the Output desk and it was a disaster for many reasons. The price was too good to be true for a non-particle board desk. I ended up giving it away to a friend for free. This Dangerfox desk looks like what I hoped the Output desk would be.
