There are not enough words that can express Karen Carpenter. Just 1 in a creation. A true class act of humility, one of many wonderful characteristics that described this beautiful lady.
Karen Carpenter's voice is like gold. This is my favorite song by the Carpenters. As you mentioned the nostalgic nature of this song is so beautiful. Thanks for your great reaction.
The movie Roman Holiday came out before this song. Imagine this back then we listened to this with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath! We would listen to this throughout the day, but hard rock at parties.
If you ever want to have your heart break while listening to music, listen to Karen saying Goodbye to Love! 😢 She had a voice that was like silk… nobody came close! Such a tragic ending…
But the eletric guitar solo during the 2nd half ruins that idea and turns the song into a guitar macho testosterone sh*t show event, compeletly away from the neartbreak theme of the song. I love it, but it makes everyone forget about the heartbreak in the song.
Karen Carpenter never wanted to be a singer, wanting to play the drums, the pressure led to her death at the height of their fame. Eating disorders came into public consciousness through her struggles. A star that burns twice as brightly burns half as long, of course.
It is not your fault that you manage to find a remix version. Their original recordings are beautiful. I would recommend 'Carpenters Gold' , unlike this which sounds like they are singing down a well.
Your review is super fine. i;mjust pointing out here whatever movie you said this was from [I couldn't find it] I must comment. The song came FIRST, in 1973, therefore it's not "from" a movie, it was hijacked for a movie like so many are. Another example is Unchained Melody by Righteous Brothers [Bobby Hatfield] everyone says it's "from" Ghost as if they wrote it specifically for the movie. It was written for another movie decades before ..."Unchained" in 1955. Recorded by Bobby in 1965. Anyway Yesterday Once More obviosuly stands on it's on merits, never needed a movie. The movie needed a song... apparently because they were too cheap to pay someone to write a new song.
Lost constantly in this argument about the carpenters is that earlier in Karen Carpenter's career she was a badass drummer all due respect y'all have to check that out there's plenty of UA-cam video with that in fact she was compared to led Zeppelin's drummer at one point believe it or not
Actually the video and the song have no relation utter than fact that whoever made the video thought the song was cool with it. In fact the movie was made about 20 years before the song.
Karen’s voice always melts my heart. One of a kind. 🙏

Those old Melodie’s still sound so good to me. Truer words were never said. Songs and smells are keys to memories past.
Maybe the best produced pop song ever.
It is certainly one of the best for sure.
- Yes it is there- The Year of the Cat is a perfect pop song imo, but that one does not have the superb Karen does it?
My favorite Carpenter's song. May that dear lady rest in eternal peace. Thanks for posting.
This song becomes even more relevant as you get older. Karen Carpenter’s voice reached right into your heart.
I say the same thing every time I hear her voice.....the true voice of a angel

Frank Sinatra said she would be the only female artist would pay to go see wow rip Karen Carpenter

@@thomastimlin1724I love that part🎸
Great reaction but one of (in my opinion) the best from the Carpenters is Solitaire, a brilliant Neil Sedaka/Phil Cody song.
The first part of this video clip is from a commercial for Dove chocolates and is not Audrey Hepburn or Roman Holiday.😊
Karen Carpenter never wanted to be a singer, wanting to play the drums, the pressure led to her death at the height of their fame.
Eating disorders came into public consciousness through her struggles.
A star that burns twice as brightly burns half as long, of course.
She was every bit as good a drummer as a singer. What a wonderful talent she was.
I love Audrey Hepburn she just seemed like an angel to me

Even nostalgia ain't what it used to be. 🤣
MOVIE THERE is EIN HERZ UND EINE KRONE STARING Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck
Get gkin with Karen!!

It has been said that Karen has reincarnated in Mitch from pentatonix. What are your thoughts 😮

Why are they showing scenes from the movie "Roman Holiday" from 1953? nothing to do with the content of the song lol.
Actually the video and the song have no relation utter than fact that whoever made the video thought the song was cool with it. In fact the movie was made about 20 years before the song.
I think I love you. I'm sorry you are half my age!
Your hair is scraping the mic.
