  • We had a wonderful weekend at Lake O' the Pines! Brushy Creek is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers campground with lots of beautiful RV and tent camping sites! Its prominently situated on the shores of Lake O' the Pines not far from our home in Hallsville, Texas. The park has a boat ramp, swim beach, clean bathroom facilities, and a dump station.

Thanks for your review . I stayed at my 1st C.O.E. campground this wk. end. Big fan of these campgrounds now . Hickory Creek was the name on Lake Dallas . Real nice ! Drone footage was so cool .

We love staying at Army Corps of Engineers parks. They are typically gorgeous, well-maintained, and extremely affordable, and it looks like this one is no exception. I love all of the tall trees that provide shade to each site. That swimming beach is a nice feature, too. Thanks for sharing.

Love your videos. We wanted to go to Brushy based on your videos in fact. We tried to plan but couldn't get a spot.. We tried Buckhorn, Johnson , all full. We ended up booking a spit at Alley Creek park right near by to all the above. I look at all of my favorite UA-camrs... no videos... for Alley Creek. We arrived and Alley Creek is BEAUTIFUL, the sites are amazingly well kept pads are amazing as well. Very clean ... quite .. can't say enough good things... only down side .. yes they have Argentinian ants so be prepared. We drove to all the other parks... again loved your video but for us ...Alley Ceek is much better.. than all the above. The sites have more SPACE, better STAGARD for more private camping and peaceful atmosphere and the park in general less hhmm """party lake """ feel .... PLEASE , PLEASE do a video on Alley Creek Park

Thank you for the kind and informative words! We may try Alley Creek some day (it's very near our home). As of right now, we are no longer camping and have our 5th wheel on consignment at Bish's RV in Longview, Texas. Thank you for watching!

Stayed at my first COE park (Sandy Creek on Lake Steinhagen) a couple of weeks ago. Pleasantly surprised at how nice it was! This one looks very similar in sites, restroom facilities, etc. One thing I wish it had was hiking trails. That's an activity I really enjoy at state parks. Have you been to any COE parks with hiking trails?

We agree Lisa! The 2 COE parks that we have been to were really nice, but there weren't any hiking trails to be found! This is why we have always preferred state parks!

Looks like a very nice park. Love the shade trees and I know in the TX summer that comes in handy to keep it cool. Nice review.

Did you say you owned a site there? We stayed at this park a couple years ago and loved it.

No, I don't own a site anywhere on Lake O' the Pines but I do live nearby in Hallsville. Thank you for watching!

Yes, anyone can book a site at an Army Corps of Engineers Park, they are open to the public and most of them are awesome! This little park is just down the road from where we live and it was the first place that we camped when we got our 5th wheel a few years ago. My sister just bought a new travel trailer and so we decided to book a couple of sites here to get her better acquainted with her new rig and we had forgotten what an awesome park it was! We were only there for the weekend so I didn't take very much footage but I did manage to do a tour video of my sister's rig while we were there. We'll check out your channel. Thanks for watching!
