Johnson Creek Park is one of four Army Corps of Engineers Campgrounds around Lake 'O the Pines. It is a beautiful campground.
One RV section, section 1, in Johnson Creek Park has full hookups. The other RV sites are water and electric. Johnson Creek Park also has some tent sites. When it says tent, it means tent. You cannot get your RV into one of those sites. When we visited, we were in section 1 by mistake. We didn't realize it was a full hookup site. Lots of people brought boats to Lake 'O the Pines. In section 1, the road is wider allowing people to park their boats on the side of the road.
One of the things we enjoyed doing while we were there was fishing. At the pier, the water was around 14' deep. We caught some catfish and a baby crappie. We also caught a lot of sunfish.
Sharon didn't kayak because there are some gators in this lake, and she doesn't want an up close and personal encounter with one.
Lake O' the Pines is somewhere we had wanted to camp for years because it was such a pretty area of East Texas. When we finally got here for this camping trip, it didn't disappoint.
The day use area does have a couple of swim areas and a volleyball court. There is also a wonderful looking playground at Johnson Creek Park on Lake O' the Pines.
I will have to check out this park. We live about 30 minutes away from Johnson Creek. Thanks for the tour.
It's a nice park. We enjoyed our time there.
Hello from the cool quiet Ozarks Melina and Sharon! Hope both are well and enjoy your day. Another video of value. Lake of the Pines is my go to lake when i visit my brother in Atlanta,tx. Awesome fishing and relaxation! i have never seen any aligators there. Been out all over the lake with my brothers fishing boat. Lots of stumps for great fishing. Looking forward to more of your adventures! Tight lines and bent poles!
When we were fishing at Lake Meredith on Tuesday, I told Sharon your closing line: Tight lines and bent poles. It must have worked because she caught some of the littlest carp I've ever seen. Oh, well, she did better than I. My bait was stolen. Have a great day, Phil.
@@TwoTiredTeachersa day fishing is rewarding whether you catch anything or get skunked.
Sharon and I would both agree with you, Phil.
No gators at lake o pines! It’s a beautiful lake for boating and fishing. You might spot some eagles tho!
It's a very pretty park. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
Stayed in Brushy Creek last year.
I'm not sure that you can find a bad place to camp around Lake o' the Pines. We've never stayed at Brushy Creek, but it looks great!
@@TwoTiredTeachers it was busy. But beautiful. We were on our way somewhere else, but both wanted to return to one of the campgrounds.
That area is gorgeous.
Great review, how were the bugs??
I don't think they were terrible.
That does it! I'm moving to Texas!
Thanks ladies, looks like an amazing place. Great video as always.
Thank you so much.
