- Urolift is a minimally invasive procedure designed to treat the symptoms of BPH. In this video, Dr. Reznicek demonstrates how Urolift can be used as an option in a patient with prostatic regrowth after a prior TURP (transurethral resection of the prostate). This procedure is less invasive than the TURP and has fewer side effects. In men that are good candidates for the procedure, this may be a good option to consider, even if you have had a more invasive procedure in the past.

I had the Urolift procedure a few years ago. The symptoms were relieved for about 5 months. The symptoms gradually returned. My prostate enlarged around the cables. The symptoms got worse and medication was not effective anymore. I just had the TURP procedure about 10 months ago. The Doctor had to remove the UroLift cables. I understand that there was a few complications during the removals. I am thankful, that I was totally under for the whole thing. No symptoms now and stream is good. I'm 59 years old and maybe a wimp, but I prefer the TURP procedure. The catheter was uncomfortable, but not painful. I personally think that the Urolift procedure is very invasive. I only had a tranquilizer pill, 90 minutes before the procedure. A RN sat beside me and offered to hold my hand. I said, "I probably wouldn't need to, but thank you". When the doctor started inserting the rigid instrument, about the diameter of a pencil, up my main unit, I told the nurse that I wanted to hold her hand. Every snap of the needle was very painful. I peed blood for a week. The first few days after the procedure, peeing was very painful. I am probably not the norm. I just don't know how they can claim it is minimally invasive.
Daniel I totally agree with you! I also peed blood for a week and it was painful to urinate for 2 weeks. The procedure itself was absolutely brutal! To top it off it did absolutely nothing for my symptoms. You should be put out for this procedure!
I had the TURP done 8 days ago, it was way less painful than I imagined. Hope it lasts, don't want a repeat anytime soon. Suffered with BPH for 15 years.
Can you imagine having steam pumped up your business with the Rezume procedure?
I agree with you. I peed blood for 2 weeks after the Urolift procedure and I would call it very painful.......the bleeding stopped after about 3 weeks, and 10 months later I am OK, but the results are about 50% of what I hoped they would be.........
And all these horror stories are why I’m going TURP, 10
Years is better than 5 months, they both grow back. We want to solve the issue not be kept in a maintenance cycle for future Doctors income.
Thanks for the video! My TURP is 10 years old and I am having same symptoms again that led up to the TURP. I am trying FloMax but may need something else. Like most, I am trying to avoid constant (or daily) catheter. Prostate seems to be the curse of manhood.

I had turp done for bph six months ago and still urinating a lot at night ,i wonder when it would better?
Talk to your urologist. It may be that your PC muscles are weak due to the surgery. You also should get checked again anyway just in case the surgery wasn’t enough to reduce the Prostate.

Is it possible to remove the implants in the future in case the prostate gets larger and new implants need to be used or other procedures need to be done?

Urolift completely and permanently destroyed my life !!!! Now I am faced with my new urologist wanting to do another surgery (greenlight) to correct to the botched UROLIFT procedure.
I am told I would have to self catheterize everyday possible for the rest of my life. My symptoms now are WORSE than before Urolift. Please be advised and don't say I didn't warn you if you get this procedure !!!!!
The tissue at bladder neck will still cause issues

The TURP seems so “barbaric” but I’ve heard Urolift, Rezum, & others don’t seem to last long. TRUE?

Seemed to me to be very biased towards Urolift. Many people report that the benefits of this treatment are short-lived.
Yes I had the procedure 3 years ago and It was one of the WORST decision I have ever made. I regret it. I am now suffering the consequences because the #Urolift procedure has made my condition worse than it was before.
it would be helpful if you expound a bit....your condition is "worse" but is that attributable to urolift, enlarged prostate or what exactly?
@@groth3395 due to #Urolift when it was healing my uretha flaps healed together. That's what I was told.

That was the worse turp I ever seen it was still blocked off pretty much after that crap job.
Urolift is a hell clips have to be removed
