To be fair Angron and the World Eaters lore is actually pretty in depth and his rage goes far beyond the butchers nails. I like majorkill but he really has a tendency to overlook and ignore the interesting lore for characters and factions he doesn’t like.
Thing that makes Alpharius/Omegon NOT tzeentchian is that he's actually altruistic and humble about it about it. Tzeench requires some pride and selfishness to drive your ambitions, but Alpharuys is perfectly willing to do everything from behind, get no personal gain and throw his good name into a mud for a a goal he believes would save mankind.
Angron's backstory is probably one of the best out of the traitor primarchs and he has some of the greatest motivation for hating the Big E. I'd definitely listed to Bricky's podcast "Adeptus Ridiculous" on the World Eaters and Angron.
To be fair, I feel GW has done some impressive work to build up Angron as being more than just "the angry primarch." I know Majorkill still doesn't like him and I'm not saying I particularly like him either, but you see his portrayal in the book "betrayer" and especially the primach novels for him shows that he alone of all the primarchs didn't ask for the responsibility he was assigned. He was willing to die with the other gladiators on his world but the Emperor denied him that. My one big issue with Angron is that he perpetuated the butchers nail's that he was given. He even knew it was a hindrance to himself, almost destroying the qualities that made him a primarch, but he still pushed that treatment on his legion. To me, this is his real flaw, not that he is angry, not that he is a traitor, but that he willingly puts the curse of the butchers nails on his legion. Perhaps though that is the epitome of hate, the Emperor gives him a legion and out of hate he turns them into monsters.
@@tfan2222 That is true for some of them, but in the Primarch book for him it was clear that some were very against it. I think its not so much what Angron desired, but the fact that he just didn't care what his legion did.
he didnt push the nails on his legion he hated the nails just as much as he hated everything else but just like every marine under every primarch, his legion wanted to understand him, be more like him, get closer to him the nails was an attempt a dumb one but what else could they do to get closer to a god that was broken in every way ofcourse there was a part of him that wanted others to share his pain even if he knew that they couldnt carry the burden only take their own but he was made as an empath, sharing emotion was in his design before it was taken from him he was only doing what the emperor made him to be, flawed
Considering that it's Magnus, those tusks probably do something so remarkable and arcane that they're worth the disadvantage. Maybe they channel his powers because they've been bathed in some psyjer blood or something.
No, according to what i know, Corvus Corax is still alive in the official lore. AND has mastered his warp powers, enabling him to turn into a humanoid Raven... Just don´t ask me why or how. But Majorkill did another video about how the Primarchs were created, that might give you some hints, which i can´t do here because the text would be too long. The Alpha Legion is POSSIBLY actually LOYAL to the Emperor, though that is quite the question mark there, we´ll see how GW handles that in the future.
The thing with seeing the future and past in the Warp....Think of it like a constantly shifting mosaic. The chaos gods are not actual gods, just really powerfull constructs of emotional concepts. By their nature they constantly hinder their own progress with their shenanigans.

Perturabo is one of, if not the only chaos primarch that could give guilliman a solid run for his money IMO. Purely battle wise, logistics etc im not sure who.
The Angel was not only a paragon of leadership, but also of art and artisanship. And played right, he beats Pootyrabo with a bit of luck, and Guilliman hands down. Also, a reminder that it was Prettyboi McWhysnake who crafted Forgebreaker, which is just downright a better weapon on the table than the Fireblade. And on the table, for all of his lorewise defensive prowess and manlybeard, Adornable gets his ass handed to him by pretty much the whole rest of the lineup... Yeah, the lore and the numbers really don't line up...

French viewer here; I was taken aback by your comparison between Ultramarines aesthetics and Napoleon's Empire, but it actually makes a lot of sense as France was trying so hard to be the Roman Empire back then. From the architecture (Arches of Triumph, Columns, white stone square palaces with marble floors) to the symbolism (Eagles, Axes and Laurels) and up to the Grande Armee style of standards and banners, the French Empire is really a ripoff of the Classical antiquity most Europeans were obsessed with since the Renaissance.

the thing about corvus is that after istvan the ravenguard got decimated, he then tried to bring their numbers back up but alpharius corrupted the new geneseed and the new ravenguard created where loyal and effective but horribly mutated. So when the HH finally ended corvus killed all of the mutants sulked for like a year in his tower both about the state of his legion and the emperor being dead. Then when he finally came out, he said nothing to anyone, got a shit and just set straight for the eye of terror to kill all his brothers(especially lorgar).
In my head canon Roboute Guilliman is based on Robert Gillman Jackson, a former UN officer. Logistical, strategic and diplomatic plus the UN's color is blue

I finished Lords of Silence a week ago and it pretty much said mortarion isolated himself from all the death guard for all the 10,000 years after the heresy, only stirring around the time of the 13th black crusade and Guilliman’s return. He was upset that Guilliman was the first to come back as well. Edit: source from Night Lords Trilogy, the palace and fortress on Tsagualsa was still alive with important organs kept intact by the legion apothecaries specifically the Screaming Gallery where Konrad and his inner circle met up. He also gave his favorite sons nicknames, but in truth he hated them all.
About 50 000 space marines. 40k lore routinely dorsn't count anything but marines in any war marines are engaged. So "50 000 space marines" actually means "50 000 space marines plus aroud five battlefleets of Chaos, two titan legions, 100 cohorts of insane Dark Mechanicum daemon engines, 50 millions of traitor guard, trillions of untrained and barely armed cultist (most of them converted from local imperials who went insane from seeing daemons) and as many daemons as they could summon and sustain with current levels of bloodshed and hatred"

Perturabo and his legion were never into chaos worship or chaos mutations, but he was a true pragmatist and knew that the chaos gods were his best and only option. Being a daemon prince of all 4 chaos gods will give him a certain amount of freedom and power that mono-god followers simply will not get. I do think that there are logical and pragmatic reasons as to why he ascended.
Not to be 'that guy', but you CAN turn down Daemon Princedom if you're hard enough. As much as we rag on Abaddon, he flat out refused to become a Daemon Prince because it'd limit his ability to cause mayhem in the material world.
I don't know if anyone else has thought about this but since the emperor created his sons do you think he put into them some sort of code that if they fall to chaos they become completely useless or they become so corrupted that they are useless?
Rylanor was indeed having a boss moment but it was Fulgrim's spiteful and needless cruelty pulling him out of his Dreadnought sarcophagus to taunt him about how he would corrupt him to chaos. Magnus is many things but cruel to his own legion isn't one of them. The whole reason Magnus has done fuck all is A. he never wanted to join chaos. B. He's in a near eternal search for a way to break the Rubric of Ahriman that turned most of the legion into dust, their souls bound to move their empty armor. So the Thousand Sons were so disgusted by Fulgrim they stopped holding a timefreeze on the Virus Bomb Rylanor set off.
porturabo wasnt really forced by gods he was dying fulgrim during a dual stabbed him with a chaos blade that causes his soul to leak ober time so he was dying so he is said tohave sacrificed the gene seed of all the imperial fist he killed to make himself a demon prince to save his own life
actually horus had a ponytail and some of his sons also did (failbaddon did). a Catonian tradition maybe?!? emperor's children were also perfectionists. they can work really hard to pursue whatever stupid objectives they have in their sight. Gulliman was made to be a stateman capable to build an empire on his own (wich he did) and so his DNA contains whatever reference to previous empire builders humanity had. Hopefully big E didnt put too much of Napoleon in him. Being able to win every battle but never the war really isnt what the imperium need right now. Among many theory: Russ went into the eye to find a way to heal the emperor (freeing Isha from Nurgle might work), Corax is just out there killing stuff, Rogal disapeard during a black crusade but could have been brought in the warp by force, jaghatai was after dark eldar the last time he was seen so maybe in the webway wather than the warp, we know where the Lion is and Vulkan was seen in real space during the war of the beast. if the future could be easely written in advance, the 4 gods wouldnt be fighting each other since they would all know the result in advance. So they must have a way to bend the timeline in their favors to a point and the fight with gulliman... well... maybe they didnt expect the emperor to suddenly become the 5th players in their great game, even if temporary. Pre-ascenscion Angron was far more complexe, he was the only primarch that didnt conquer his homeworld, was never free of action or conscience and was about to be beaten by mere mortal before the emperor arrived... And yet that was the best moment of his life: he was about to die yes, but on his term fighting for what he believed in and surrounded by his friends andcomrade in arms (rebelled gladiators). then arrive arrive Big E seeing all that and respond:"yeaaaaah no scratch that, i have a war to win and you have an army to lead. so here's a legion and off you fuck SON!!!".
Well you do get to decline with enough plot armor. Abby was elected for Daemonhood but he never took the offer because of the downsides of turning into a warp monster
About defyng the Gods of Chaos. Three of them are mad about it. Tzeentch on the other hand LOVES rebellious champions who go against his plans. That's why Ahriman (who pays lip servise to Tzeentc at best and plots to USURP him at worst) is his favourite despite Magnus being more powerful and loyal.
on the mangement people. i do believe the reason the chill bros don't go for maneagament, is cuz they know how much of a hell is gonna be that freaking job, that and they don't like bossing people around, too much stress , too much work, gotta talk to people all the time, most pople like that just wanna do their job and then be chillin', no wonder the control freaks take over in that cenario. The reason a lot of the Traitor Primarchs haven't done anything is because all of the ones still around are Daemon Princes and can't leave the Warp, and because they have lost their souls to the Chaos Gods in the bargain, they are subject to their whims and cannot act unless their patron god wishes it. Lorgar and Perturabo are Chaos Undivided, but that means they are even more limited because all 4 gods have to subconsciously sign off on whatever they try to do, otherwise they'll just faff about in the Warp and order the remaining elements of their Legions still loyal to them to do shit on their behalf.
Angron has the best lore and the best quotes. Once he told Lemen Russ that if he was a moral man and he didn’t have the butchers mail and was a moral man he would’ve try to chop of the emperors head. Lol 😝 SAVAGE.
i think the awesome of the primarch is more about mantaining the head attached, than creating invencible fists, the whole point is to create generals that are more than man, can inspire and create whole armies, administrate those armies, and not get easily killed, cuz let's face it, it does not really matter if scores of soldiers die, if the commander that can take the victory not now but later, wins the war, grim, but true.

I will say Magnus only lost cause Russ's spear that can wound Chaos powered Horus is used to beat him back 2 times and the 3rd the Grey Knights are also needed. Magnus also beat Guilliman's ass and had to have Sisters of Silence and Harlequins and Aldari help him to push Magnus back into the warp portal.
The chaos legions World Eaters, Iron Warriors, Emperors Children, Sons of Horus(Black Legion), Thousand Sons, Nightlords, Deathguard, and Word Bearers all embrace chaos. However, the Alpha Legion IS CHAOS. When fighting any of the other legions you know who the enemy is and who’s side your on, with the Alpha Legion everyone mistrusts each other and they have no idea who is the enemy. Many fight against who they believe to be the agents of the Alpha Legion only to find out that they themself were actually benefiting the Alpha Legions goals. Also the Alpha Legion has this whole thing of secret Ops hypnosis sleeper agents that get brainwashed into serving Appha Legion, but then get hypnotized back to think they are a regular imperial citizen and put on a Imperial planet. After many years the sleeper might rise the ranks to be someone who has a high ranking position with many supporters under him, and then one day the Alpha Legion enters the space of that planet and they send a message that triggers the sleepers hypnosis making him wake up and remember who he really is and thus he turns all his supporters against the loyalist defenders causing a civil war and easy picking for the Alpha Legion. Basically it’s like standing on the front line with your military buddies who have saved your back from battle after battle after battle all of a sudden without warning turn towards you and shoot you in the face. Or having the commander in charge of the artillery change the target to their own men, or having hundreds of troops line up to receive orders from their general only to have them mowed down by others while they are defenseless. This is why of all the traitor legions out there the Inquisition hates the Alpha Legion the most because it’s just so damn hard to find their followers and find out what their plan is because their plans have so many contingencies that even if you stopped one, they planned on it happening and have 3 more other plans based off that one failing.
I mean fuck Agron and Perty are always the butt of most chaos jokes but they do get a good chunk of character development to the point I even dare to said Agron is rather wholesome, bro tier and alongside Logar the next in line for a genuine solid reason to go traitor.

Humanity worships the emperor as a god. ✔ Save Angron. ✔ Chaos has unending fuel. ✔ Also Corax deamon won 1 fight, and Lorgar left. People act like he's hiding in terror. and that's not at all how it went down. Lorgar didn't gloat, didn't act at all evil. He was like *sigh*ok brother i knew this was coming. Dude is a winner
on the turning into daemon primarch, it *is* a choice the ruinous powers don't just give daemonhood, is something you strive for, requires a ritual, a suitable circunstance, and the powers have to feel like it, but yeah, you still gotta sweat that shirt boi.
Angron's personality isn't so much anger as it is just sheer loathing of everything around him because it offends him. He likes Kharn because he actually had the stones to get his ass beat without fighting back, running away, or being too much of a wuss to handle a Primarch-level ass-whooping. He also REALLY liked the captain of his flagship, Lotarra Sarin, because she was woman enough to boss around the World Eaters and lecture Angron himself without flinching despite just being a young mortal woman, and he valued her to the point where if he found out anything was bothering her, such as the Remembrancers attached to the World Eaters fleet aggravating her, he would address the problem with great haste. And then there's Angron's origins on Nuceria, where he was found as an infant, having slaughtered a bunch of Craftworld Eldar who tried to assassinate him while he was still young and vulnerable. He was brought in as a slave in Nuceria's fighting pits and colosseum's, quickly rising to become the planet's most legendary gladiator, and a crowd favorite. What broke him was having to kill the gladiator who had become his surrogate father after the slavers decided to punish Angron's disobedience by implanting the Butcher's Nails into his brain and sending him into a berserk rage against his father. Before that, Angron was a kind empath who could literally remove other people's pain, giving his brother and sister gladiators peace as they slept. After the nails though, he became a bitter and angry Spartacus who rejected the Emperor's offer of elevation and would have rather died fighting a force 10,000x larger than his own so long as it meant dying free alongside his fellow escaped slaves. Everything after that was just bitterness, to the point where Angron actually left his Legion and spent several years in isolation on some backwater world, hoping something would come along and kill him to end his misery. And by the end of of his natural life, the Butcher's Nails were beginning to kill him, and Lorgar had to perform a ritual to turn him into a Daemon Prince of Khorne in order to save his life. Now he's less of a jaded asshole, but he's still a Daemon Prince of fucking Khorne, so...
I think only Russ and Corax went into the warp, Khan is involved with the dark Eldar I believe. Russ and Corax went into the warp because they felt that the traitors being imprisoned in the Eye of Terror wasn’t good enough and went in there to go kill their traitor brothers. Mainly Corax going after Lorgar, and Russ after Magnus. The Lion is currently sleeping in The Rock till GW decides to bring him back but they are taking their damn time about it. Guilliman is back now after his stasis coma from Fulgrim slashing his neck. Ferrus Manus got his head cut off by Fulgrim Dorn went missing after a raid and they only found his hand so who knows what happened Vulkan fought a giant ork warboss and had a giant explosion go off reducing them to atoms tho he’s always came back to life before, but he hasnt since this one tho there have been sightings. Sanguineus died to Horus but his soul has popped up a few times here and there.
Even though we know almost nothing about what he's been doing in his exile (I have plenty of theories but they are just theories)Perturabo has been, by far, the most productive primarch since the Horus heresy. The closest after him is of course Guiliman who has only been active for a short time. The two of them have always been the best logisticians and while Guiliman is dealing with the problems of uniting the Imperium, Perturabo has to contend with primordial chaos itself both from within and without. I haven't gotten all the way through all of the books yet (probably past the halfway point) but I'm currently working from the theory that part of what Perturabo has been doing is carefully maintaining the neutrality of his legion by using the desires of the Ruinous Powers against one another. More than anything else Perturabo seems to be committed to never putting himself and his legion in the position of doing all the hard work for someone else's gain. Which makes sense since this is why he turned against the Emporer and it's also why he abandoned Horus on Terra. Majorkill fails to mention that of all the chaos legions the Iron Warriors are the only ones who are actively producing new Astartes as well as weapons, ammo, and vehicles. They've also been improving existing technologies and inventing new ones. They should have their own range of modified weapons and vehicles on the tabletop but GW loves neglecting the chaos legions.
Also the reason that any of the primarks did not do shit or very little is for 10000 years so gw could keep balance story line wise that's why all the living one vanished
They give the lore reason the traitor pirmarchs have not done anything. In the real world the reason that they have not been doing anything would be because putting a primarch on the table would be an instant win for that player.

the thing about corvus is that after istvan the ravenguard got decimated, he then tried to bring their numbers back up but alpharius corrupted the new geneseed and the new ravenguard created where loyal and effective but horribly mutated. So when the HH finally ended corvus killed all of the mutants sulked for like a year in his tower both about the state of his legion and the emperor being dead. Then when he finally came out, he said nothing to anyone, got a shit and just set straight for the eye of terror to kill all his brothers(especially lorgar).

I finished Lords of Silence a week ago and it pretty much said mortarion isolated himself from all the death guard for all the 10,000 years after the heresy, only stirring around the time of the 13th black crusade and Guilliman’s return. He was upset that Guilliman was the first to come back as well.
Edit: source from Night Lords Trilogy, the palace and fortress on Tsagualsa was still alive with important organs kept intact by the legion apothecaries specifically the Screaming Gallery where Konrad and his inner circle met up. He also gave his favorite sons nicknames, but in truth he hated them all.

Perturabo and his legion were never into chaos worship or chaos mutations, but he was a true pragmatist and knew that the chaos gods were his best and only option. Being a daemon prince of all 4 chaos gods will give him a certain amount of freedom and power that mono-god followers simply will not get. I do think that there are logical and pragmatic reasons as to why he ascended.

Rylanor was indeed having a boss moment but it was Fulgrim's spiteful and needless cruelty pulling him out of his Dreadnought sarcophagus to taunt him about how he would corrupt him to chaos. Magnus is many things but cruel to his own legion isn't one of them. The whole reason Magnus has done fuck all is A. he never wanted to join chaos. B. He's in a near eternal search for a way to break the Rubric of Ahriman that turned most of the legion into dust, their souls bound to move their empty armor. So the Thousand Sons were so disgusted by Fulgrim they stopped holding a timefreeze on the Virus Bomb Rylanor set off.

Gulliman was made to be a stateman capable to build an empire on his own (wich he did) and so his DNA contains whatever reference to previous empire builders humanity had. The reason a lot of the Traitor Primarchs haven't done anything is because all of the ones still around are Daemon Princes and can't leave the Warp, and because they have lost their souls to the Chaos Gods in the bargain, they are subject to their whims and cannot act unless their patron god wishes it. Lorgar and Perturabo are Chaos Undivided, but that means they are even more limited because all 4 gods have to subconsciously sign off on whatever they try to do, otherwise they'll just faff about in the Warp and order the remaining elements of their Legions still loyal to them to do shit on their behalf.

i think the awesome of the primarch is more about mantaining the head attached, than creating invencible fists, the whole point is to create generals that are more than man, can inspire and create whole armies, administrate those armies, and not get easily killed, cuz let's face it, it does not really matter if scores of soldiers die, if the commander that can take the victory not now but later, wins the war, grim, but true.

I will say Magnus only lost cause Russ's spear that can wound Chaos powered Horus is used to beat him back 2 times and the 3rd the Grey Knights are also needed. Magnus also beat Guilliman's ass and had to have Sisters of Silence and Harlequins and Aldari help him to push Magnus back into the warp portal.
The chaos legions World Eaters, Iron Warriors, Emperors Children, Sons of Horus(Black Legion), Thousand Sons, Nightlords, Deathguard, and Word Bearers all embrace chaos. However, the Alpha Legion IS CHAOS. When fighting any of the other legions you know who the enemy is and who’s side your on, with the Alpha Legion everyone mistrusts each other and they have no idea who is the enemy. Many fight against who they believe to be the agents of the Alpha Legion only to find out that they themself were actually benefiting the Alpha Legions goals. Also the Alpha Legion has this whole thing of secret Ops hypnosis sleeper agents that get brainwashed into serving Appha Legion, but then get hypnotized back to think they are a regular imperial citizen and put on a Imperial planet. After many years the sleeper might rise the ranks to be someone who has a high ranking position with many supporters under him, and then one day the Alpha Legion enters the space of that planet and they send a message that triggers the sleepers hypnosis making him wake up and remember who he really is and thus he turns all his supporters against the loyalist defenders causing a civil war and easy picking for the Alpha Legion.
Basically it’s like standing on the front line with your military buddies who have saved your back from battle after battle after battle all of a sudden without warning turn towards you and shoot you in the face. Or having the commander in charge of the artillery change the target to their own men, or having hundreds of troops line up to receive orders from their general only to have them mowed down by others while they are defenseless.
This is why of all the traitor legions out there the Inquisition hates the Alpha Legion the most because it’s just so damn hard to find their followers and find out what their plan is because their plans have so many contingencies that even if you stopped one, they planned on it happening and have 3 more other plans based off that one failing.

on the turning into daemon primarch, it *is* a choice the ruinous powers don't just give daemonhood, is something you strive for, requires a ritual, a suitable circunstance, and the powers have to feel like it, but yeah, you still gotta sweat that shirt boi.
Angron's personality isn't so much anger as it is just sheer loathing of everything around him because it offends him. He likes Kharn because he actually had the stones to get his ass beat without fighting back, running away, or being too much of a wuss to handle a Primarch-level ass-whooping. He also REALLY liked the captain of his flagship, Lotarra Sarin, because she was woman enough to boss around the World Eaters and lecture Angron himself without flinching despite just being a young mortal woman, and he valued her to the point where if he found out anything was bothering her, such as the Remembrancers attached to the World Eaters fleet aggravating her, he would address the problem with great haste. And then there's Angron's origins on Nuceria, where he was found as an infant, having slaughtered a bunch of Craftworld Eldar who tried to assassinate him while he was still young and vulnerable. He was brought in as a slave in Nuceria's fighting pits and colosseum's, quickly rising to become the planet's most legendary gladiator, and a crowd favorite. What broke him was having to kill the gladiator who had become his surrogate father after the slavers decided to punish Angron's disobedience by implanting the Butcher's Nails into his brain and sending him into a berserk rage against his father. Before that, Angron was a kind empath who could literally remove other people's pain, giving his brother and sister gladiators peace as they slept. After the nails though, he became a bitter and angry Spartacus who rejected the Emperor's offer of elevation and would have rather died fighting a force 10,000x larger than his own so long as it meant dying free alongside his fellow escaped slaves. Everything after that was just bitterness, to the point where Angron actually left his Legion and spent several years in isolation on some backwater world, hoping something would come along and kill him to end his misery. And by the end of of his natural life, the Butcher's Nails were beginning to kill him, and Lorgar had to perform a ritual to turn him into a Daemon Prince of Khorne in order to save his life. Now he's less of a jaded asshole, but he's still a Daemon Prince of fucking Khorne, so...

I think only Russ and Corax went into the warp, Khan is involved with the dark Eldar I believe. Russ and Corax went into the warp because they felt that the traitors being imprisoned in the Eye of Terror wasn’t good enough and went in there to go kill their traitor brothers. Mainly Corax going after Lorgar, and Russ after Magnus.
The Lion is currently sleeping in The Rock till GW decides to bring him back but they are taking their damn time about it.

Even though we know almost nothing about what he's been doing in his exile (I have plenty of theories but they are just theories)Perturabo has been, by far, the most productive primarch since the Horus heresy. The closest after him is of course Guiliman who has only been active for a short time. The two of them have always been the best logisticians and while Guiliman is dealing with the problems of uniting the Imperium, Perturabo has to contend with primordial chaos itself both from within and without.
I haven't gotten all the way through all of the books yet (probably past the halfway point) but I'm currently working from the theory that part of what Perturabo has been doing is carefully maintaining the neutrality of his legion by using the desires of the Ruinous Powers against one another. More than anything else Perturabo seems to be committed to never putting himself and his legion in the position of doing all the hard work for someone else's gain. Which makes sense since this is why he turned against the Emporer and it's also why he abandoned Horus on Terra.
Majorkill fails to mention that of all the chaos legions the Iron Warriors are the only ones who are actively producing new Astartes as well as weapons, ammo, and vehicles. They've also been improving existing technologies and inventing new ones. They should have their own range of modified weapons and vehicles on the tabletop but GW loves neglecting the chaos legions.

They give the lore reason the traitor pirmarchs have not done anything. In the real world the reason that they have not been doing anything would be because putting a primarch on the table would be an instant win for that player.
