To be honest, I don't want a Season 3. I want a spinoff series or miniseries. Alex is right, that story ended and continuing it makes no sense, but that doesn't mean the characters can't go on new adventures or even have new characters with their own story in the same universe. The Pines could be pretty fun side characters to a new story arc.
I mean, it depends what you mean when you say "that story" is over. The story of the Pines Twins in Gravity Falls, Oregon with their two great uncles and various others is done, yes, but it directly left open major loose threads that- if they were to make a spinoff- they'd almost definitely need to explore in the story, such as the fate of Bill and the Zodiac. So while it definitely wouldn't be a "season 3" if they were to continue, they wouldn't be able to do a Zodiac plot line without bringing ALL the characters from it back in some sense (or replacing a couple, since as Ford said, some of the symbols are not literal), so any kind of satisfying spinoff would be as close to a season 3 as they could possibly make without it literally being called "Gravity Falls season 3".
I remember I heard somewhere that Alex Hirsch said he wanted to make a Gravity Falls spin off video game. He would totally be down to team up with some indie game, developers, and make this reality. But he can’t do it simply because Disney won’t let him. When he proposed the idea to them, they said they didn’t want to do it because, in their words “there’s no demand for Gravity Falls content” (which is complete bullshit because there’s been an endless demand for Gravity Falls content ever since the show ended)
They also only figured out 'The Owl House' was popular after they cut it short. Disney has been making many bad(read: costly) decisions lately. Oh, but I'm sure Toy Story 5 and Cars 4 will be winners.
I'm convinced this was why he wrote this book so he could go to Disney with the numbers and be like "if I can still sell this many Books of Bill Gravity Falls is still relevant.
I can vouch for this, because Alex told me something similar when I talked with him at the book signing in Hillsboro Oregon yesterday. I asked him if he had ever considered making a Gravity Falls-themed Escape Room Game, since the puzzle-solving and code-cracking elements of escape rooms seem like they'd be a perfect fit. But he responded to me by saying "I've pitched ideas for Gravity Falls escape rooms, *video games*, and many other things, but Disney just doesn't care about Gravity Falls outside of their book publishing division."
@@johnsmith8981In a Q&A during a book signing yesterday, Alex was asked why he was publishing the Book of Bill now, 8 years after the series ended, and this was his exact response: "Disney asked me if I had any interest in making more Gravity Falls books, I said 'wouldn't it be fun to write a book where Bill is giving readers terrible advice?' and Disney said 'no, thank you.' They were worried about lawsuits and religious leaders. But years later, they called me up and said 'Hey, do you remember that idea you pitched a while back? Well, we need books, please, we're desperate. Write a book for us.' So I said, 'Okay let's go!' So I basically took all of my worst ideas, put them into 200-something pages, and now we're charging you for it!" So while I'm sure that if a large number of copies of the book are sold, it will prove something to Disney, but that doesn't sound like the reason he wrote the book, considering it's been "years" since he came up with the idea.
Gravity Falls proper does not need any continuation, the story is over, summer ends. However, a new story set in the same world is a big opportunity. Especially one focused on Stan and Ford's explorations, maybe even as Ford writes a 4th Journal about weirdness outside of Gravity Falls.
Is gravity falls like the place in the United States with the most supernatural phenomenon or the world? Cuz low-key we could get a spin-off anthology of characters in different countries and cultures investigating supernatural phenomenon like El chupacabra or the babayaga

I honestly think it’s poetic there’s only 2 seasons, there’s 2 Stans dipper and Mabel being two halves of a whole, 2 extra fingers on ford, 2 months of summer vacation, so it would only make sense to have 2 seasons, and only 2 seasons
On the other hand, 3 journals, 3 sides on bill. Ford's fingers are divisible by both 2 AND 3, and as other replies have already pointed out, there are between 2 and 3 months of summer depending on how you count. If we're going along the theme of numbers, I feel like if we get any """season of a show""" set in the gravity falls universe, it'll be one divorced from the family themes of S1 & S2 which follow the themes of twos, and be much more focused on mysteries and bill which follow the themes of threes. It'd be like an epilogue season of sorts.
I want a short of dipper and Mabel in high school being asked by the teacher what they did over the summer, and then a flashback of every episode appears, and all they say is “This summer, me and my sibling went to Gravity Falls, Oregon, and we had the time of our lives.”

Based on Alex’s comments over the years, we’ll almost certainly will never get a traditional Season 3. But a sequel series? (Gravity Falls: Alien Force?!) Maybe one day…
Let's hope if we get a sequel series, we never get a sequel like Ultimate Alien. I love it but I couldn't bare seeing the main characters of another childhood show reset to their beginning

Season 3 will NEVER happen but something else GF 100% will based on the ending of book of bill(no spoilers). Also it become a B&N bestseller on the pre orders alone.
Just recently non compete agreements were outlawed, an nda would stop him from talking about his Netflix show with anyone outside of Netflix, but a noncompete would mean he’s not allowed to work with anyone outside Netflix, so even if you are right and there is a non compete clause in his contract, that’s not legal anymore so he is allowed to work for Disney
Season 3 would be perfect, The only way they can really defeat bill is by using the cirkel but they didn’t use it. Also bill is saying that he returns when he “died”.
I definitely don’t think we’ll get a season 3 but, there’s definitely a really high chance right now of us getting a spin off or even reboot of some kind (especially with the book of bill coming out). But the original gravity falls show is already perfect as the way it is right now so why ruin that?

Thank you both for your kindness. I am now going to buy the book of Bill to avoid spoilers as it seems to be picking up pace now everyone's finished analysing it. (Haha, anal-yse)
while a direct continuation seems illogical I think I trust Alex enough to faithfully revive the series. The series really does not have a bad episode in my honest opinion even roadside attraction I find enjoyable, I just think its mediocrity is exemplified by the fact that it comes in lead up to the final story arc, but on my latest rewatch fully expecting the little detour, it was fun. Fuck that spider lady though, ew. But even if you are a fan that believe roadside attraction is a horrific episode that still means you likely assume he has a hit rate of 39/40 and a miss rate of 1/40, I like those odds. So if he decides to continue the series which I honestly do hope for on a daily basis I trust his judgement as a creative; to make something great. Of course that implies that he sees a reason in opening the door of gravity falls again which I like to point out was just shut not locked. I also have this theory where the book of bill is just a big testing site for Disney to see if there is still cash in this franchise. (Which given the companies track record does line up with their goals) Okay I yapped enough now, I said all of this pre video watch because I want to catalog my thoughts before I watched this video I will edit it if I feel it is necessary. (I will specifically mark the new section as “edit:” if it says the comment was edited that just means I found a typo or was being a grammar freak. Yeah I think this video reaffirms what i said on my opening arguments. I understand that Alex probably will not make a direct season 3 but I am in highschool so let me use a highschool example. What’s oh my friend is definetly not over that girl 101: “Guys I’m TOTALLY OVER HER, I never EVER WANT TO GET BACK TOGETHER WITH HER” Every time you talk to them. He clearly wants to build hype around the series because I am sure he sees it like his baby or something. And there’s no way it is just gone forever. With a drip feed of content that persists since the show has ended to it ending on a screen that says “see you next summer.”TO the fact that bill is CLEARLY STILL ALIVE. I really think it is illogical to imply it will not return in someway. Probably not season 3 maybe something better, I think the Stans’ miniseries is likely. But I doubt Dipper and Mabel are permanently out of the picture either, Soos will probably come back and Wendy might be doomed to rot in underused character hell. (Poor Wendy) So yeah I look forward to whatever comes our way. I understand wanting to preserve the legacy of something great like this, but I trust Alex fully. Also from what I understand from the Netflix deal, it seems like he only has to make one show til he’s free. So when that comes out he can do whatever the hell he wants. The exciting second option too buried in there is he delivers something as good as gravity falls.
I know that Disney is desperate for more Gravity falls cause they know how much money they would make after the success of the book of bill. But Alex is keeping Disney at arm’s length and while disney can use Gravity falls characters as they please with Alex, they would never do that cause they know that he is the only one that could make it. (Also he voices half the cast which might be a problem) Alex and Disney are clearly in talks about what to do moving forward. I don’t see Gravity falls season three. I see a sequel series or a spin-off. Maybe even a Collab with the owl house or Amphibia. But never say never cause we have been proven wrong before. Who knows what could happen.
Honestly give me a prequel show. Where we see younger stan and fords life, which lead to them in gravity falls and everything The whole process of ford writing the journals, his experiences with the entities and monsters without any understanding of them, having to figure it out. Dipper got through it easily, because of the journals. Ford wrote them, having to figure out everything for himself, step by step I know the show already somewhat covers stan and fords backstory, but if we got to experience it with them, it would be glorious.
Everyone would be so excited for a mini series or a book about Ford and Stan. I feel like it was such a shame that we didn’t really see the Pines boy’s didn’t get enough screen time together.
"See you next summer" was the letter at the end of the last episode. I agree it's a complete story with a satisfying ending, but the *world* could have something new with new characters.
After i saw most of the hard proven fact theorys from this one channel (currently at 119.000 subs and 4 videos about the book and Website) i think there will be Something coming. I mean at this point there are still alot of open questions, and obviously the continuation if bill is gonna come back to at one point or not
It just bothers me when random people think they know the creators and their ability to create better than the creators themselves I don’t think Alex would be putting a shit ton of effort into a gravity falls themed book press tour etc has a website and is teasing something gravity falls related if he was contractually stuck with Netflix 😐 use some common sense
1. Directors always pointvthe opposite direction of what they want for suspended 2 the rumors came from one of Disney's ppl saying he MIGHT WORK with them to do something new with gravity Falls and 3 the contract points he can't work on a movie doesn't say he can't allow Disney to make one without him or have Disney put it on Netflix too (Disney still has done shows on Netflix but they took most off for there streaming service)
I doubt there would be a season 3 but it’s possible they could make a special short content. Like a spin off epilogue or a short film. Just like Adveture time distant lands and Fiona and Cake. They were not whole season but really well write. Side stories I’m that were almost like short films
Alex Hirsch himself said at Playgrounds the art department that he’s never doing a new season of gravity falls. I was there in that crowd for the interview
I don't mind that we can't have a new Season because if we did, it would be undermining the show's finale. What we DO want is another show and/or miniseries, spin-off or bookline which they could really market
Let shows die. If you truly loved them, don't let corporations ruin them slowly over time. The Simpsons are a warning, not an example to aspire to. Every good story must have a proper ending.
Yes, I agree there isnt rlly anything more to show in a season 3, unless alex could make a season 3 or another series showing the secrets of the oceans because at the end of s2 ford said that there are some anomalies in the ocean zone, a move, a ova, another small season or a complete new series about this would be extremely cool!
also pretty sure alex said he wouldn't do a season 3 until Disney starts paying and treating their animation teams fairly across the board. The guy's pretty vocal about unionising and stuff, which i totally agree with. It's one of the big reasons why he's up for books and comics instead. Edit: I don't even want a Season 3. I think the show is perfect as it is. Ending is something shows are suppossed to do, and no one wants a show this great to suffer from seasonal rot, especially when it's literally already ended.
omgomgomg a movie or video game would be so pog!!! i hope they follow through, it's alrighty if not tho cud gravity falls will always have a plethora of content. in our hearts:)) 💛
Disney should add the mystery shack/Greasys Dinner/ and maybe Gideon’s tent of telethopy to Disney world/land. If they really wanted to make bank off of GF
cool video. and i, personaly, would love a spin-off show on ford's adventures inside the other dimensions. and since its often hinted at that Ford met Rick, from Rick and Morty, this could be a cool crossover between GF and RAM.
Alex is always full of surprises but I feel like if we get any more Gravity Falls content it will be of Stan and Ford. I'm not gonna lie though, a 'years later' series would be cool. But he did a really good job with the ending, and that's more than you get from a lot of great shows.
As far anything new towards Gravity Falls goes, and this is coming to a fan of the series itself, to quote that mayor guy from The Lorax movie... *LET IT DIE, LET IT DIE, LET IT SHRIVEL UP AND FRY!!*
I know most people are iffy on a continuation, but I think a movie would be perfect. Focus on the twins 18th birthday and add in the character arcs Alex wanted originally. More Wendy development, Dipcifica, Stan and Ford could even mention their quests (and thus a spin off show could come out after the movie).
At the end of season 2 when dipper and mabel left gravity falls wendy gave dipper a letter to read when he missed gravity falls and in that letter it Said “ See u next summer”
I'd love a series about Ford's 30 years in the Multiverse. He told a bit about it but I'd sacrifice my blood to know more about the time he spent there
There Definitely will be something out of this book of bill especially with the deluxe edition it hints about how he could be coming back tricking axolotl in the process
I feel like we should get like a tv14 mini series for stan and Ford if we want to tell their story from the aftermath of the original series. Actually now that I think about it, Alex Hirsch is like the robert Zemeckis of the animated world if you think about it

I messed up and haven't pre ordered it yet. Is it still available?
It wont
@@AlienFan25yes
Season 3 will NEVER happen but something else GF 100% will based on the ending of book of bill(no spoilers). Also it become a B&N bestseller on the pre orders alone.
@@AlienFan25 yep it's just released for normal ordering now
Just recently non compete agreements were outlawed, an nda would stop him from talking about his Netflix show with anyone outside of Netflix, but a noncompete would mean he’s not allowed to work with anyone outside Netflix, so even if you are right and there is a non compete clause in his contract, that’s not legal anymore so he is allowed to work for Disney
All I want is what happened with bill, we all know his backwards message at this point
THIS IS WHAT IVE BEEN SAYING. “OMG SEASON 3!!” YALL DO THIS EVERY. YEAR. 😭
This is very different
Season 3 would be perfect, The only way they can really defeat bill is by using the cirkel but they didn’t use it. Also bill is saying that he returns when he “died”.
LOL someone clearly hasn't studied gravity falls right. I mean hopefully you now know more since the book of bill
0:0 he’s dipper
3:20 and now he’s bill cipher
5:40 now he’s grunkle stan
The bill cipher cosplay is amazing
I definitely don’t think we’ll get a season 3 but, there’s definitely a really high chance right now of us getting a spin off or even reboot of some kind (especially with the book of bill coming out). But the original gravity falls show is already perfect as the way it is right now so why ruin that?
on another topic, kakyoin!!?!?
Love seeing my art at the end :)
HELP I WAS SO CONFUSED AT FIRST BC I REMEMBER GRAVITY FALLS BEING SPLIT INTO 3 SEASONS BACK WHEN I WATCHED IT ON LIKE HULU APPARENTLY HULU JUST RANDOMLY DID THAT IG DSFDSFDSFSDFDS
With the ending of book of bill being CRAZY(no spoilers) we are 100% getting something GF I just don’t know what.
*VALSKIBUMP TWEAKING IN THE BACKGROUND SHOUTING LIKE HES SCP 96*
call the ntf
I'd just want to see stories that happen in the town, or like what Alex said being about Stan and Ford, and that's all I want.
5:57 Alex is in a deal with Netflix bill
we'll meet again don't know where don't know when oh I know we'll meet again some sunny day
there may not be a season three, but there are definitely a lot of other ways the lore will go on.
I believe it could be a spin off following the stan brothers on their adventurers or a time skip and we see Dipper and mabke return to gravity falls.
It's ironic how the man who created Bill Cipher got locked into a deal. There's a better way to phrase this, but i just wanted to make the joke.
Really hope they do it though. The show is great and stuff
absolutely fire video, just what i was looking for, new sub
So glad you liked it!
We could see some sort of Bill spin off because the end of the Book of Bill, Bill said something about escaping. (Don’t feel like spoiling the book for others)
Yes.
I’m not spoiling it
Thank you both for your kindness. I am now going to buy the book of Bill to avoid spoilers as it seems to be picking up pace now everyone's finished analysing it. (Haha, anal-yse)
I regret buying it, but it won't be here for a month. I have adhd and will forget. So it will FEEL like I was sent the book by the characters. 😅
while a direct continuation seems illogical I think I trust Alex enough to faithfully revive the series. (Which given the companies track record does line up with their goals)
Okay I yapped enough now, I said all of this pre video watch because I want to catalog my thoughts before I watched this video I will edit it if I feel it is necessary.
What’s oh my friend is definetly not over that girl 101: “Guys I’m TOTALLY OVER HER, I never EVER WANT TO GET BACK TOGETHER WITH HER”
Every time you talk to them.
Who knows what could happen.
the outfits bro bill on point you a real fan 😂🙌
the editing style is awsome!
fr fr nice
we do know about that netflix show, or at least one of them. it was called inside job and it was amazing but got canceled after only 1 season
It had 2 seasons
@@vickypedia1308 1
@@vickypedia1308that's was s1. Netflix cut the season in half and release the rest of the eps a year later.
From what I understand the FTC banned No-Compete back in April sooooo maybeeee.... *fingers crossed*
Honestly give me a prequel show.
Where we see younger stan and fords life, which lead to them in gravity falls and everything
The whole process of ford writing the journals, his experiences with the entities and monsters without any understanding of them, having to figure it out.
Dipper got through it easily, because of the journals.
Ford wrote them, having to figure out everything for himself, step by step
I know the show already somewhat covers stan and fords backstory, but if we got to experience it with them, it would be glorious.
I love the bill cosplay thing
Everyone would be so excited for a mini series or a book about Ford and Stan. I feel like it was such a shame that we didn’t really see the Pines boy’s didn’t get enough screen time together.
A movie would be enough for me to accept Gravity Falls ended
Ahh yess
"See you next summer" was the letter at the end of the last episode. I agree it's a complete story with a satisfying ending, but the *world* could have something new with new characters.
Keep in mind tho deals expire and I searched it up and it’s supposed expire in 2026 - 2027
After i saw most of the hard proven fact theorys from this one channel (currently at 119.000 subs and 4 videos about the book and Website) i think there will be Something coming. I mean at this point there are still alot of open questions, and obviously the continuation if bill is gonna come back to at one point or not
He's not stuck in a deal with Netflix where he can't work on other show he had a show come out on Disney in 2020 and enter the Netflix deal in 2018
It just bothers me when random people think they know the creators and their ability to create better than the creators themselves I don’t think Alex would be putting a shit ton of effort into a gravity falls themed book press tour etc has a website and is teasing something gravity falls related if he was contractually stuck with Netflix 😐 use some common sense
I love the fits btw
I doubt there would be a season 3 but it’s possible they could make a special short content. Like a spin off epilogue or a short film. Just like Adveture time distant lands and Fiona and Cake. They were not whole season but really well write. Side stories I’m that were almost like short films
Alex Hirsch himself said at Playgrounds the art department that he’s never doing a new season of gravity falls. I was there in that crowd for the interview
I don't mind that we can't have a new Season because if we did, it would be undermining the show's finale. What we DO want is another show and/or miniseries, spin-off or bookline which they could really market
i kinda want a movie about bills past or either any canon thing in the book of bill as a scene
The origins of the unusual things like a prequel would be cool
Dude thank you for the video! Btw I liked your outfits very much
omgomgomg a movie or video game would be so pog!!! i hope they follow through, it's alrighty if not tho cud gravity falls will always have a plethora of content. in our hearts:)) 💛
A spinoff about the henchmaniacs or just the nightmare realm in general would be awesome
Something like Fionna and Cake would be nice. A Gravity Falls prequel/spin-off that follows Ford's 30 years in the Nightmare Realm for older viewers.
Disney should add the mystery shack/Greasys Dinner/ and maybe Gideon’s tent of telethopy to Disney world/land. If they really wanted to make bank off of GF
So the counter is for a Cipher hunt 2.0 like a Sonic. Exe
thgen blill siphr became hyperrealistic and killered me
It seems now season 3 is DEFINITELY possible.
HERE IS WHATS POSSIBLE
Spin off
Epolouge
Another book
Movie
Your golden freddy cosplay is spot on!
I wouldn't want a season 3 but the letter at the end just makes me want one
cool video. and i, personaly, would love a spin-off show on ford's adventures inside the other dimensions. and since its often hinted at that Ford met Rick, from Rick and Morty, this could be a cool crossover between GF and RAM.
ALEX HIRSCH.
MAKE THAT SPINOFF WITH STAN AND FORD.
AND MY LIFE.
IS YOURS.
0:01 is this dream with a wig?
Alex is always full of surprises but I feel like if we get any more Gravity Falls content it will be of Stan and Ford. I'm not gonna lie though, a 'years later' series would be cool. But he did a really good job with the ending, and that's more than you get from a lot of great shows.
I love that you’re dressed up as dipper lol😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤
Gravity Falls is not getting a Season 3. Bill Cipher was defeated once and for all, summer ended, the story is over.
Looking back on this now, Alex Hirsch was probably doing the voice acting for the How to Draw Stan short
ngl id love a stan and ford miniseries
Bill Cipher the animated series.
About bill time in purgatory.
I'd love a series about Ford's 30 years in the Multiverse. He told a bit about it but I'd sacrifice my blood to know more about the time he spent there
Ayo bruh I think cause of the new website we might at least get a special on disney
(IM IN DENIAL)
Love your editing
*We need a 10 part special like OTGW semi-focused on Bill right now*
There Definitely will be something out of this book of bill especially with the deluxe edition it hints about how he could be coming back tricking axolotl in the process
A more adult Bill show would actually be fire, like it could be different episodes of Bill trying to take over different civilizations
I feel like we should get like a tv14 mini series for stan and Ford if we want to tell their story from the aftermath of the original series. Actually now that I think about it, Alex Hirsch is like the robert Zemeckis of the animated world if you think about it
4:00 bill cypher is phineas's biological father
There should a spinoff about stanley and stanfords childhood adventures together.
I think that it will get a sequel or spinoff series. Not a season 3, because the story of Gravity Falls is done.
