Reba and loretta are some of the sweetest people you would ever meet!!! If you ask them who's the queen one would say the other!! They are both equal queens!!
I don't really follow country music, but I became a Reba fan last year and I've been learning some stuff. The ACMs happen earlier in the year than the CMAs, and the ACMs honor the *previous* year. It says 1994 ACM Awards, but Reba references the Oklahoma bombing which happened in 1995. Personally, I think Reba deserves all the prizes. :) I'm so looking forward to her new album and more singles being released so she can be nominated and win more awards. :)
So bad it was cut at the end... But thanks for posting anyway! Wow, Reba winning the Entertainer of The Year award was great already, but Naomi Judds giving her the award was just so AWESOME!!! I wish Naomi could be in the business a lot more than she is now, she is hardly seen around lately...
I'm sure it was 1994, because the song they played when she went up there was "Why Haven't I Heard From You" and that was released in 1994. They always play the artist's most recent song when they go up to accept an award.
@rebafan2012 I know this is an old post, but Reba was simply talking about that current year - no female entertainer of the year nominees. This vid is from 1995. There have been females who have won (I think Reba became the 4th one). I wasn't a fan back then but during the eligibility period Reba had the Read My Mind album out - wildly successful. And her autobiography. And she was still putting on big showy concerts.
Agreed. She has been woefully overlooked in her career since the 80's compared to the men's successes. It's probably politics of the award shows and I know Reba does not mind at this point in her career... But it is definitely a shame that her achievements were overlooked in 2010/11. :/
I still cannot believe that she didn't win the CMA award for top female and entertainer in 1995. This was from the 1994 ACM Awards. The ACM Awards come later in the year, and the CMAs come earlier. The entertainer of the year seems to always favor the male artists, so I wasn't shocked by her not winning, but how could she not win the top female prize from the CMAs? How exactly could the CMAs justify not giving it to her when she out-grossed all other artists? The CMAs suck!
@JeffLynn1978 There are going to be 8 Entertainer nominees this year. Also, Carrie deserves Female Vocalist along with Reba, Reba should get it next year.
No Woman? Loretta, Dolly and Barbara Mandrell then Reba have one the ACM Entertainer of the Year...they have also won the CMA Entertainer award in that order as well
The nominees for this year's ACM's show should be as follows: ENTERTAINER: Lady Antebellum; Kenny Chesney; Brad Paisley; Taylor Swift; and Keith Urban. *Will win: Taylor Swift Should win: MALE: Jason Aldean; Kenny Chesney; Brad Paisley; Darius Rucker; and Keith Urban. Will win: Brad Paisley Should win: Jason Aldean FEMALE: Miranda Lambert; Martina McBride; Reba; Taylor Swift; and Carrie Underwood. Will win: Taylor Swift Should win: Reba
I'm glad she won, but I have one question: How did she win? At this past year's ACMs, Reba mentioned that no woman has been nominated for Entertainer of the Year..so how did she even get nominated?
Reba was ridiculously overlooked....that's what happened. I think these award shows (ACM/CMA's) are trying to "correct they're mistake" so to speak. by handing out every award possible to today's country artists. Look at 2010 alone. Reba started and ended the year with #1 hits, the top grossing tour in country music (w/ George Strait), and having her longest charting hit in her 35+ carrer with "Consider Me Gone" (4 weeks @ #1). Did she win anything...............NOPE.
Actually she only won it once..Barbara Mandrell was the only one to win it twice. and you have to also remember they won it during a time when Men ruled the awards shows and radio...In fact Johnny Cash told Dolly Parton who was the 2nd woman to win ACM/CMA Entertainer of the year awards that I guess us men will have to move out of the way.
Miss Reba McEntire is so amazing such a sweetheart I can't help but love and care about her so much. May God continue to bless her.☺️👏💖
I love Garth's reaction to Reba's win - he looked so happy for her! Reba looks wonderful and gave a lovely speech.

only girl nominated and won!!
Her reaction reminds me a lot of Carrie Underwood's Entertainer win--speechless
Does anyone have the videos from when she won the top female honor at the 1990, 1991 and 1994 at the ACM shows?

You're going to sing with Reba? That's awesome...How did you get the chance to sing with her? Just Curious:)
@slhkrp1012 She should've won her second one in the 90's from the CMAs... she was ridiculously popular in that era.
