I was 14 and obsessed with the Cure. I read in a book in a record store that Robert Smith said the only gig he'd tried to get back stage for was Echo and the Bunnymen. I immediately found Killing Moon at a record stall and they became my new favourite band... until I discovered the Smiths!
Thank you very much for your reaction. There aren't many people who reacts to them beyond Killing Moon. I freaking love The Cutter and I'm happy to see your reaction and hear your thoughts and feelings.
Love the Bunnymen, glad nagging you to listen to them has worked. This song is the first one I heard a band play live, in the Edinburgh Playhouse way back in October 1984. My older brother took me to the gig as a 17th birthday present, still one of the best presents I ever received. I can still feel the balcony vibrate beneath us as the opening organ chords played. A magical night for me. It's hard to recommend further Bunnymen tracks to listen to, too many good ones, but you might try "Rescue", Never Stop", "Crocodiles" or just the whole A side of the "Heaven Up Here" album. I was listening to it 2 nights ago for the first time in years and it blew me away all over again. (Sorry to keep going on, this is a band I'm passionate about!)
you just made my day young man i feel nervous watching younger reactors discuss my generation's music as we were the first to hear it and there was nothing like it we were just coming out of disco these musicians were into art and literature and into creating melody thank you for your sincere reaction
Ian was one hell of a looker. Check out Crocodiles, such a great album. I like their earlier stuff more than the pop stuff, although they do a mean pop song. Thank you again for the Bunnymen!
From the porcupine album my favorite song is my white devil, and so is the cutter. Porcupine is an unusual psychedelic post-punk album, in this album all the songs are wonderful.
I grew up with this band!I own every album and a couple 12“s,all in precious vinyl!✨My favorites are SILVER and THE KILLING MOON!Maybe you like them too.👉🏼👈🏼
Nice... The Bunnymen are too good to gloss over... There are gems on every Bunnymen & McCulloch solo album... Also to consider are 'Rescue', 'Angels & Devils', 'A Promise' & 'Seven Seas'... Their B-sides were good also as you will find with 'Devils & Angels probably my favourite by them...
PS: Thanx for your information on that track!👍🏼 By the way: The band called their drum-machine „Echo“ and then, themselves „The Bunnymen“!Funny,I guess! 🔊
Ian was really into The Doors and Leonard Cohen around this time.In those days they would come back to the same venue in the same year.So I saw them twice in 1984 when I was 15.Great great band. This is the violinist L Shankar with John McLaughlin a few years earlier. ua-cam.com/video/qGW4nrsZJ3o/v-deo.html
Mustard? Really? Is that what you think he's saying? A condiment? Or could it be Muster? It's a British phrase. But muster is typically revelly with a bugle in the military
Still are the drummer died in a axident at some point unfortunately the singer has a ace northern English swagger a bit like oasis stone roses etc but Liverpool!
Could you please react to the following songs at some point as I would be interested in your interpretation of them. 'Belladonna.' 'The Killing Jar.' by Siouxsie and the Banshees. And 'E=mc2.' by Big Audio Dynamite. Thanks

The engine room on this track is immense
Great to see someone as young as yourself enjoying these great oldies. You’ve got good taste in music!

Well, thank you!
Ian McCulloch's vocals are so awesome! Love the Bunnymen! ❤
Wonderful wonderful tune.Its got everything.
So poweful and deep! People know them for The Killing Moon in Donnie Darko, but their first 3 albums are great stuff!
You never fail to come up with the goodies
check out echo/bunnymen never stop...from the same period as the cutter.
Great song! I love it! Nice to see you reacting to their songs too.
This was the first Echo And The Bunnyman song that I ever heard.

I forgot how good this song is, lol! The Game is another one of my favorites of theirs - complete nostalgia for me.

"Couldn't cut the mustard." Mustard is soft so not being able to cut it means you're useless or think you are useless.
Mustard? Really? Is that what you think he's saying? A condiment? Or could it be Muster? It's a British phrase. But muster is typically revelly with a bugle in the military
@@Beaches_south_of_L.A. But cutting the mustard is an English idiom, whereas cutting the muster isn't.
@@MrTumshie yeah you're right. I was completely wrong. Oops!?
You didn't have 2 be a full goth 2 enjoy them the words were all balls but the sound and singing was ace
Still are the drummer died in a axident at some point unfortunately the singer has a ace northern English swagger a bit like oasis stone roses etc but Liverpool!
Some Kind Of Nothingness was a Manic Street Preachers duet with Ian McCulloch, just sayin'! 😁
Try Siberia album !!!
A reaction to their contemporaries U2 would be good, Sunday Bloody Sunday would be a good start.
You should try Manic Street Preachers-From Despair To Where

Their original drummer, who played above, Pete deFretias, died in a motorcycle crash on some road in Germany. He was in his 40s.
