The sign with the fish on it (minute 3:57) says something like "Let's all protect this clean/beautiful waterway. This clean water is an important treasure for all of us." So what are they trying to say? It's not clear, but I assume it means they are politely trying to say, don't throw or dump anything in this water.

I never been to any country aside from where I lived, its a good option to go from China to Central Asia, you said that Uzbekistan land border is not open yet maybe it will open in the future China is a very big country, I heard a lot of beautiful places in Central Asia, and you will be closer to Eastern Europe if Trudy will take that route. re stereotypical male/female roles 27:00 I think is also very much a generational thing. My Dad went to work and drove the car whilst Mum cooked and kept the house clean.......but so did everyone elses Mum and Dad back in the 50s/60s. My Dad saw driving the car as a "mans job" but when he passed away my Mum couldn't bear the thought of selling the car so decided to take driving lessons and passed her test first time at 60! She never looked back after that and was off out somewhere almost daily.....even got pulled for speeding when she was 82! 😂

Then from there visit some of the south Pacific islands like Malaysia or Indonesia and either India and ship Trudy through the Suez Canal all the way to the UK or do the Mediterranean through Greece and drive her all the way from either France or Italy first. That or go down from the south Pacific to South Africa and then back to the UK. Although from South Africa you could try shipping her to South America and take a detour before finally sending her in her way back home🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤔

China and Japan are completely different, so I think you should pay attention to various things.
For example, when shooting around China in the same way as in Japan,
You may be arrested and convicted by the Chinese police on espionage charges.
In fact, many Japanese businessmen and tourists have been imprisoned.
No matter how much you explain to the Chinese police, they won't accept it.
Before going to China, you should do a lot of research.

If you go to China, be prepared to be arrested without knowing why or to be asked to pay to cross city or provincial borders.
Local governments in China cannot pay their staff for months and are very keen to fine citizens.
You filmed from inside a facility that should not be shown, your van is illegal, you are using a VPN that is not recognised in China, you do not have a local permit, the weight of your vehicle is illegal... any reason is fine. They won't let you through until you pull over and pay. That's it.
It's pointless if they weigh the vehicle beforehand. The weight scales they have are overweight even with one kitten on board.
Remember that they stand above logic, justice and the law.

You need to get a small terminal screw driver and clean the splines on the wiper spindle... the wiper spindle is made from steel and the wiper arm is an alloy, the steel splines dig into the soft alloy wiper arm to grip it when the nut is tightened. Every spline must be cleaned, its tedious but your wiper will always come loose unless the splines are cleared of compacted alloy from the wiper arm. Good luck.

    Hi guys
My understanding of the current rules travelling across China in your own vehicle without a Chinese driving licence is that you will need to pay for a ‘pilot’ to travel with you so you don’t go and visit anywhere you shouldn’t and you also have to pay all their overnight accommodations till you get to Thailand. Also check with taking camper and into Thailand. We are trying to do the route in reverse so want to cross from Malaysia into Thailand but have been told campervans aren’t being allowed in from this direction but the Laos border is more lenient so may have to transport to the Laos border, unload and do a quick u turn back in.

One side (Chris') had an accident in Cabo Pulmo Mexico !! The wind took it and slammed it open, so it has been cracking ever since - we will hopefully get it sorted one day before we get home !!

I watch another channel where the family was in Japan going to South Korea to go into China with a visa and then the guy got a warning from a viewer and looked into it . The laws changed in China July 1st and it makes it very easy for them to think yin are a spy ( or something like that) and he was warned NOT to film anything in china except Disney land . So he called friends and looked into it and he decided he would not risk going to prison in China so he went home. Let me see if I can link his video so you can see. If you are already in China and the videos are behind … 🤷🏻‍♀️ I just thought I’d share what I heard from him. The channel is Provost Park Pass and it’s a few videos back

    Hello Ambassadors
This was one of the best of Japan's so far. Lovely sceneries and Snow Monkey Mtns was great. So natural! Yes Chris, you were in the money GELOGICALLY speaking. That is simply a GEOTHERMAL energy source there like the ones in Iceland. Sulfur is one of the main chemical element in these sources.
However, I loved this video so much. Thank you for bringing it to us. Loving it, living it because of you.
Be safe, in Turkish "KOCAMAN TESEKKURLER" Great Thanks!

    The signboard is
Let's protect clean rivers and irrigation canals together
It's not exactly a fish road.
Japanese people like to draw illustrations on billboards about everything.

The Japanese Serow is actually a kind of antelope. It is sometimes referred to as an 'antelope-goat'. In Japanese, it is called a 'kamoshika'. 'Shika' being the word for deer. There are 'sika deer' in the UK, and they are actually a species introduced from Japan. The difference between 'sika' and 'shika' is nothing more than the different systems of writing Japanese in Roman letters. The former the now mostly unused archaic system and the latter the modern system taught in schools. So, in the UK when people say 'sika deer' they are actually saying nothing more than 'deer' twice. Once in Japanese and the other in English.

    A pronunciation tip:
Michi no Eki :::: it’s not “meshi”. The correct pronunciation is “me-chee”
It’s so nice you can stop the night at the Michi no Eki areas. They have food, toilet facilities, etc.

WhT do you use to transport your van from one country to the other and is it costly? May I ask how much it cost in average?

    • @TREADtheglobe

Hi Jocelyn it depends - if it is a long distance like US to Japan we used a Roll on Roll off vehicle cargo transporter, but from Japan to Korea we were able to get a car ferry. The routes are very different and can cost from a couple of hundred pounds to thousands of pounds as some of the route you need to employ an shipping agent, import agent and organise a carnet de passage. We spent about 6 months planning and work on the road to fund our adventures as it is a massive commitment financially, physically - but we love the challenge and love the adventure. Marianne 🌷
