If a contractor needs that much money up front, they are not a solvent business. Run.
You NEVER pay the full amount up front!!! People should be smarter that that!!
For material heavy jobs most has to be because you need something to build with. Hence why scamers pick them
@@ImprovmanZerodoesn’t cost that much up front whatsoever. Usually it is a milestone basis.
@@ImprovmanZero If doing this then people need to request certificates of insurance on the materials and proof that the company has the material or that it has been ordered.
First problem. I found an ad on Facebook.
Why would you give out that much money up front?!?!
Hard core reporting.. “would you like to see that money back?” Hard hitting question. ‘ I would love to” way to dig for answers
"No thanks, I don't really want that money back. I feel if the pool guy needs my money that badly, I suppose he can just keep it!"
“I saw an ad on Facebook…”. Yikes. Worst way to find a major renovation contractor
Even if their lawsuits are successful what do you think the odds are of them recovering any of their money?
Most don't think that far ahead. Many assume courts collect judgements. Doesn't work that way. Also, many companies have little to no assets. They just shutdown and reopen under a new name.
Next to none.
Facebook ads and paying that much up front? They cant be that ignorant.
must be democrats
Whio pays that much in advance. I need to go into the pool business😂
I thought everyone had gotten the memo that you don't pay in full up front. Apparently not🙄
Who’s paying 100,000 grand front ?
People that have it to give😂
@@thomasrenfrow609 more like people that have more money than sense….. I’ll on each stage of the built.
Stop loosing it all if this shit happens
A Democrat
A fool and their money are soon parted.
You gotta kinda wonder why liability insurance is mandatory for every car... but the construction business, which has been riddled with fraud and liability issues for decades - if not centuries, doesn't require any insurance for anybody that wants to call themselves a construction contractor... What is preventing politicians from creating laws to protect citizens and consumers? Are they in the pocket of the construction industry because the construction industry lines the pockets of the politicians?
You ‘did a lot of digging’ AFTER? What a tool.
Dude with the shocking pool has it worst
Call Jeff Burke at Burke Pools
Nobody will see their money back the company is broke
I saw an add on Facebook….lol, these Karen’s
Major hint in how to prevent this: Require all Contractors to "Bond" thier job. Then if they don't finish it or mess up and won't fix it the Insurance Company who issued the Bond will pay someone else to clean it up.
Now you will have to pay some extra to get that bond... but this is standard practice for public and commercial construction contracts. Lets just say that governments and large companies have learned their lessons.
IF the contractor cannot get a construction bond...RUN... and don't give them a cent.
ps: if given a bonding certificate; call the bonding company using the phone number you can find on their internet site and verify that they issued the bond.
Premier Pool & Spas on Long Island SUCKS. I specifically went with them because of the national brand - but guess what, the main company has ZERO accountability and fails to respond to calls and complaints.
Want his home address?
That’s why you do not pay them till they are done
You need to do research before hiring a company. Look at BBB. Check with the chamber of commerce, see other pools they did and ask to talk to client.
There should be progres payments in smaller amounts. Inspections need to be made at different intervalls.
They should have bond and license number.
You could fix dudes electrical issue in an afternoon
Only if it was a few simple issues. IF there is a general mistake with how things were built it will be an expensive and time consuming fix. In the worst case they tear the pool out and start over.
They must know we’re taught growing up, never pay upfront on a project.
Are they putting the pool in or out? The reporter said both!
Never buy off ads on facebook or instagram. & paying up front??? Wow
Never get any kind of builder off Facebook
Should have gotten a Thursday's Pool
A giant scam. Attorney General needs to put those people in jail.
Who would be stupid enough to hand over 100k
So this is the state of reporting these days...I've never heard such stupid questions!!
Why do people continue to give these corrupt contreactors before they have started anything? Why do people continue to give contractors money for work not started? I am not giving you a single cent until the day you show up to start work. I am only giving you payemtn(s) when you deliver materials and do work. I am also not cutting you a check. Don't take credit card, you don't need my business.
Definitely a shell game scam
😮... Something isn't adding up 😕
