A very fine job, reminds of when I began machine work and welding. Very well done, with the tools I used fifty years ago. I've gotten used to the "easier ways". Back then, the old men told me "that's how we used to do it", and now I tell the young men and boys, the circle turns, and comes again. Beautiful weld, nice accurate finish. Thanks for sharing this.
I really do take my hat off to these people, they dont have much but they get on and do the job, something our younger generation should watch instead of sitting around bitching on their mobile phones.
Another awesome 😎 repair guys. 👨🔧 mechanics evolved from blacksmiths and you guys are one of the few left with the “can-do “ and amazing 😉 self -belief in yourselves. In the West not many people use Arc-welders. You guys use it to create art 🖼. A-job.
Jep. But you can reduce the risk/damage by connecting the ground directly to the work piece (which doesnt seem to be the case in this video) so the current doesnt go through the bearings.
WTF!!!!!! Where is OSHA?????? bare feet no hearing protection or eye protection, Steel-toed boots. These guys are crazy and the employer should be shut down and sent to 8 years in the Goolog

Smacking a part with a large sludge hammer while it is clamped in the chuck of a lathe, can't be good for keeping the lathe machine in proper precision tolerance can it?
How many people die or lose limbs per year working in these shops ? I was waiting for that rear end housing to fly off of the lathe and crack that dude in the head a few times. Scary to me.
@@faizanjoyia A electrical extension *with* protective earth neither... But they seem to just dont give a damn. The more videos I watch of these guys the more I get the impression their "safety" standards are comparable to european/us standards 100 years ago.
Well...these jobs are very dangerous so close to spinning live shafts with little protection against an accident. No ear defenders against the noise which must be in the 100db range...useless welding mask and breathing in the welding fumes. All terrible for long term health....also arms need to be protected from welding sunburn as it is bad for health. Oh dear,,,, what can you say.
£23.51 at today's exchange rate. If, and it’s a big 'IF' you could get a shop to do the work here in the U.K. it would be at least 30 times as much. You wouldn't even get one hour's labour from one worker for under £24.
Doesnt make sense to compare it absolute. You have to compare the numbers (wage in england vs pakistan) relative to each other. These guys can work for ~1/10th (wage) because their living expenses are also ~1/10th (compared to england).
@@PakistaniTrucker Yes. I guess the main problem is the stuff you guys need to buy from other countries (like tools - thats why you build them yourself). Stuff from other countries must be crazy expensive from your point of view.

The metalworker did a very good job !
Best wishes from a gernan mechanic
Connect the earth side of the welder directly to the axle: it does not destroy the bearings of your lathe and it welds better. Nice job!
The shop and equipment is so clean. A little pride there.

Зачем какие-то часовые индикаторы ? Рулетка и линейка - вот главный мерительный инструмент)))
так они и грузят не 10 а 20 тонн.

Beating on it with the sledge will knock the burrs off the bearings ;)

Good Job
Can't beat German engineering. Too bad it's all made in China with cheap labour and cheap materials. Pakistan workmanship is best.
In Germany heißt das nix Tüv😂
In India, we throw it away and bought a new one...don't have the facility to re work like this...awesome work...
Great video 👍
I don't see the ground cable for the welder, is welding current going thru the bearings?
Yes, they attached the ground cable on lathe foundation.
It can ruin the bearings.
