This is one of my favorite mobile games to play and I'm pleased to find out you're enjoying it too. I laughed out loud at the immediate random Agatha because I knew exactly what was going to happen. I play Agatha decks on purpose lol, so much fun. Also as a note, some of the bots are "loser bots" which means they will make whatever play guarantees their loss on turn 6 even if it means playing nothing.
Marvel snap tips - * at low level you fight brainless bots. Your win rate will be 90%. Feels great … but it’s like taking candy from a baby (which also feels great apparently). * at level 50+ the game starts to get challenging. * only spend credits to upgrade cards. Do not buy boosters with credits. This is the major currency that will limit your progress. * do not spend gold on anything other than the 300 gold bundles that give you a TON of boosters and way too few credits to do anything with those boosters * games like this have daily energy. The "daily energy" in this game are your regenerating missions. Never waste those. If you have 4 missions look to see when it will reach the cap of 6 missions. It’s fine to reach the cap. Don’t let it reach the cap and then generate a 7th and 8th mission that you can’t accumulate. This is the core "energy" you need to play the game. * when you’re out of missions stop playing. If you’re not getting rewarded with credits for playing (or have the possibility to be rewarded with completing a mission) then don’t play. Put the game down and wait for missions to recharge. * explore cards and card combinations. Look for cards that clearly work well together. Like the shield cards and the collector (all the shield cards put cards in your hand or make them cheaper … quinjet, agent 13, Maria hill, Nick fury ….). Collector and devil dinosaur get bigger when you have more cards. That’s the kind of interaction to look for. * you get one free card per season. This is awesome! Don’t take just any card. Look for the kind of card you can use as the foundation for a whole deck. Magik, mystique, Wong, patriot, taskmaster, devil dinosaur, onslaught …. * build a deck for specific chapter goals. Like a deck that discards. A deck that destroys cards. A deck with ongoing abilities. * cards that limit lane options are really useful. Things like goose, storm, cosmo. * look for counter cards. Things like killmonger, armor, rogue, shang chi. * an ideal card has twice as much power as it costs. So, if starlord triggers he costs 2 and has a power of 5. That’s great. If you play mister fantastic in the middle he costs 3 and gives 6 total power. That’s good. Jessica jones costs 4 and if she triggers she’s worth 8 points. This is a good foundation for how to identify big hitters. So if you play shiri who costs 4 and only has 2 power … you need the card she doubles to be worth at least 6 additional power to even her out. So, if you use her to double the red skull (normally 14 doubles to 28) that’s obviously wonderful and you can follow it up with taskmaster who has the power of the last card you played … 28. * if you get to a rating where the game is harder … play earlier in the day. Younger people play earlier. Younger people are worse at the game than adults playing late at night who may also be buying their way through the game. * rotate your decks often. Try stuff out! When you get to higher ratings (70+) you will likely only have 1-2 decks that can compete from here to rank 100. This will force a lot of repetition. Enjoy trying out new decks when the season resets and everyone’s rank drops. Late in the season you’re mostly stuck with your best decks trying to max out to rank 100. * credits are a huge deal. Gold is mediocre. Just playing the game normally will get you tons of boosters. Don’t worry about it if you start to run low for a bit. Remain strong. Run missions to get credits. Don’t buy variants. You’ll get variants normally as you play. The value of these is mostly just a way to spend boosters and credits to increase your collection level … which in turn may reward you with more new cards. * be careful with snaps. Your deck has win conditions. When you meet those .. snap. Snapping at the very end when you’re clearly winning is lame behavior (like nonstop emotes) * thumbs up emote has been abused. When people use it they’re trolling. Fist bump is the only way to give a legit smile to your opponent. * save up your collectors tokens! Use those to buy the big cards that you can build a deck around. 6,000 for high evolutionary, or Thanos, or Galactus is totally worth it. Don’t waste them on little cards for 1000 or 3000. * the game is amazing. There is no need to spend real money on it. You can absolutely reach top tiers of play without spending money. That being said, if you play it for more than a couple dozen hours it’d be nice to send them a few dollars. There are no ads in the game. It isn’t a pay to win game. It’s actually really well made.
Top Tier Cards part 2 - * Sandman - Can counter decks that require lots of cards to be played per turn. * Gamora - All the guardiants cards to similar stuff ... on reveal make card stronger. Later in the game it can be easier to tell where you opponent will play (especially if you help with that). a 5 cost 12 power card is pretty fantastic. * Legion - This is the kind of card you can build a whole deck around * Aero - Lane manipulation can break a person's whole strategy * Spiderwoman - Solid card, outstanding when you're starting out. 5 cost and 8 power is mediocre. But, if your opponent has 4 cards here now this card is effectively worth 12 power for a cost of 5. * Red Skull - there are decks built around this card. It's boring, but shuri, red skull, then taskmaster. You need those cards ... you need them in that order. You'll want to try to build something else into your deck, too. * Arnim Zola - there are a handful of great decks you can build based on this. Ideally you want a single card in a location that is big that this will then push to the other lanes. Something like Venom or Taskmaster works great. Red Skull. Infininaut. Cards that trigger on reveal work really well. Odin. Magneto. Nimrod or Venom after Nimrod is already out. * Valkrie - Sneaky card that can win you a lane. It becomes being about having more cards at a location. * Leader - This basically counters your opponents last turn. * Spectrum - A foundational card for ongoing decks * Hela - A foundational card for discard decks * Onslaught - A foundational card for ongoing decks. Also just pairs incredibly well with Iron Man as a two card combo that can win a lane by themselves. * Apocalpse - A foundational card for discard decks. Combine with things like Dracula ... well there are about a dozen or so cards that are very clearly designed to be used with this mechanic. * Heimdal - Foundational card for move decks * The Living Tribunal - Abruptly and wildly manipulates the battlefiend * Thanos - Yeah, you know it. * Orka - A single card worth 16 power by itself and at atlantis is worth 21 power by itself. Thanos can be worth 20 power but that requires playing all the infinity stones and one of those stones has to STAY out. This is a single card that does this. Infininaut can be worth 20 power which is huge but you have to build a whole deck around how to cancel the text on that card or how to take advantage of spending zero energy on turn 5 (it can be done). Destroyer is a single card worth 15 but you have to build a whole deck around it. This is just a simple card that works by itself and it's huge. * Hulk - Early in the game this is a really big deal. There are enough ways to manipulate it that give it functionality later in game like High Evolutionary. * Magneto - Big powerful card that can change the enemy's last turn and move stuff around in ways they weren't anticipating. * Destroyer - Foundational card for this deck. Think wolverine, colossus, nimrod, Nova, armor. Then think about a way to limit cards on you opponent's side like storm or goose. * Death - For self destruction decks this is absolutely huge. it becomes a 0 cost card worth 12 power. You pretty much only ever want to play this on the last turn so it's not a sitting duck for shang chi.
Decent tips, except one should NEVER spend gold on boosters. You get boosters just for playing games! If you don’t have enough boosters to spend your credits, play more rounds. If you want to maximize progression, save gold until a really good bundle comes out (Marvel Snap Zone and EducatedCollins can help you figure out which bundles are good). The next good bundle is Forged in Night on 10/24. If you just want to spend gold on variants you like, don’t let me stop you from that.
@@jeffreyatkinson I disagree, but I respect the way you disagreed with me! I'm at collection level 5890 on my primary game and 3807 on my secondary. I'm sitting on over 2k gold on both games. I've not given them any real money (they definitely deserve real money, I made a point to check to see if there was a point where this was pay to win). 300 gold buys you something like 400 boosters (I think it's 65 boosters for 5 or 6 cards) and also gives you a handful of credits. You gain gold at a rate that is faster than these packages are sold at (if you're actively playing). They sell packages for 1k and 2k gold pretty often. Doing any of those will pretty much empty out what you have. I think if you're hitting rank 90 regularly and getting that 500 gold each season that may change things. The vast majority of players aren't doing that. This season without paying for premium I've gained 300 gold already. Plus random collector's reserve rewards. This method keeps you with a net positive increase in gold month after month and you get a ton of boosters with it.
@@jeffreyatkinson I see token Tuesday. 1,400 gold gets you 105 boosters and 1000 tokens. The 300 gold bundle is 390 boosters and a few credits (I think). What’s the value of those tokens? It’s an immediate series 3 card, or a third of a series 4, or a sixth of a series 5. That is basically like paying 1300 gold for those tokens. It’s not really sustainable. It’ll run you out of gold VERY fast. Is that series 3 card worth it for you? Maybe. Those boosters will be more collectors reserves. And those will be more tokens and more potential for cards. Maybe it’s because I already have all the series 3 cards on both my accounts so 1000 tokens really isn’t worth anything meaningful to me. I’d be willing to hear a counter argument if you had one.
@@zero11010 To set the context: I, also, am series 3 complete, and my goal is to get as many cards as possible. Right now the primary way to get Series 4 and 5 cards is via Spotlight Caches, which require credits (and, yes, boosters). The secondary method is via tokens. As a F2P player, most of my credits are via daily and weekly missions (and by extension, the free track of the season pass). These are limited to 6 daily missions every 24 hours, as you know. Without spending money, I am limited to a certain rate of earning credits. However, I am not limited to any rate of earning boosters. I can play as many matches as I want, and always earn boosters - even when my daily missions are exhausted. So if I play enough, credits will always be my bottleneck to getting more cards. Boosters will never be my bottleneck, unless I only play enough to complete daily missions and then never play more matches. That's why I want to spend gold (which as you point out is very limited) on earning credits or tokens to earn more cards. I have tons of card with spare boosters that I could upgrade, if I had more credits. Another way of looking at it is that if I spend gold to buy boosters, I'm essentially "paying" in my resources to NOT play the game. I enjoy the game, and would rather just play matches, have plenty of boosters, and spend my gold on the things that will maximize my rate of card acquisition. This is two of my fandoms I never expected to crossover, but I'm pleasantly surprised! 😁 Agatha, Ego, and Krakoa (the three things that take control of play from you) can all go burn in a card bonfire. As much as I love this game, the way the developers explicitly lean into RNG over strategy irks me. I used to have Squirrel Girl in my Reveal deck (my current favorite), but I got rid of her once I realized she's more often a hindrance than a benefit. I don't play for ranks, though. I just play to complete missions so I can get credits to upgrade cards so I can unlock new ones. It's a collection game for me 😁

Oh yeah and you're probably playing bots. They have a really long on boarding process where most of your games will be bots until you get to Gold rank and have X cards unlocked. Even then you'll run into bots here and there just to inflate cubes.
For a second, I thought that Hank had turned off the camera on purpose so we wouldn't see his face when he lost, but then turned it back on because he won.

Hank, you could definitely start a twitch, give the players who are new and still low-level some celebrity solidarity. 11/10, would subscribe to this twitch channel. Or just stream on youtube, I would watch here too! Also, you'll get less bots as your collection level goes up. A day will come when you get a bot and are simply glad for an easy win for once. There's also less bots in general on ladder now than when you posted this.

300 gold buys you something like 400 boosters (I think it's 65 boosters for 5 or 6 cards) and also gives you a handful of credits. You gain gold at a rate that is faster than these packages are sold at (if you're actively playing). They sell packages for 1k and 2k gold pretty often. Doing any of those will pretty much empty out what you have.
I think if you're hitting rank 90 regularly and getting that 500 gold each season that may change things. The vast majority of players aren't doing that.
This season without paying for premium I've gained 300 gold already. Plus random collector's reserve rewards.
This method keeps you with a net positive increase in gold month after month and you get a ton of boosters with it.

The 300 gold bundle is 390 boosters and a few credits (I think).
What’s the value of those tokens? It’s an immediate series 3 card, or a third of a series 4, or a sixth of a series 5. That is basically like paying 1300 gold for those tokens. It’s not really sustainable. It’ll run you out of gold VERY fast.
Is that series 3 card worth it for you? Maybe. Those boosters will be more collectors reserves. And those will be more tokens and more potential for cards.
Maybe it’s because I already have all the series 3 cards on both my accounts so 1000 tokens really isn’t worth anything meaningful to me.
I’d be willing to hear a counter argument if you had one.
@@zero11010 To set the context: I, also, am series 3 complete, and my goal is to get as many cards as possible.
Right now the primary way to get Series 4 and 5 cards is via Spotlight Caches, which require credits (and, yes, boosters). The secondary method is via tokens.
As a F2P player, most of my credits are via daily and weekly missions (and by extension, the free track of the season pass). These are limited to 6 daily missions every 24 hours, as you know. Without spending money, I am limited to a certain rate of earning credits. However, I am not limited to any rate of earning boosters. I can play as many matches as I want, and always earn boosters - even when my daily missions are exhausted.
So if I play enough, credits will always be my bottleneck to getting more cards. Boosters will never be my bottleneck, unless I only play enough to complete daily missions and then never play more matches. That's why I want to spend gold (which as you point out is very limited) on earning credits or tokens to earn more cards. I have tons of card with spare boosters that I could upgrade, if I had more credits.
Another way of looking at it is that if I spend gold to buy boosters, I'm essentially "paying" in my resources to NOT play the game. I enjoy the game, and would rather just play matches, have plenty of boosters, and spend my gold on the things that will maximize my rate of card acquisition.

Agatha, Ego, and Krakoa (the three things that take control of play from you) can all go burn in a card bonfire. As much as I love this game, the way the developers explicitly lean into RNG over strategy irks me.
I used to have Squirrel Girl in my Reveal deck (my current favorite), but I got rid of her once I realized she's more often a hindrance than a benefit.
I don't play for ranks, though. I just play to complete missions so I can get credits to upgrade cards so I can unlock new ones. It's a collection game for me 😁

Oh yeah and you're probably playing bots. They have a really long on boarding process where most of your games will be bots until you get to Gold rank and have X cards unlocked. Even then you'll run into bots here and there just to inflate cubes.
