Fantastic read, picked this up first after my nephews turned me on to it after they read it in 7th grade. Faery Tale stands the test of time and still one of my favorite fantasy novels. A great bedtime read and fantastic for strange fantasy appealing to both young and adult readers.
It's June 2020, my sons are 10 and 12...mother is bringing back bedtime stories. This was my first book as a 10 year old and I have loved EVERYTHING fantasy ever since, even my taste in music. My recent discovery is an artist called Bibio - Ribbons album. Please listen to it and close your eyes. My son was listening to it with me and responding to one of the tracks said 'this makes me feel I'm in a magical forest' I automatically remembered this piece of literature artistry. Thank you for this review.
@@deidreglasgow4413 It makes a great read but it is a bit long as a bedtime story as it moves slow for awhile. Of course, the ending is fantastic and shines when Sean goes on the quest to rescue his brother. I wonder what William Butler Yeats would have thought of it.
Thank you for the review , was said perfectly . I read this novel back in the 90s .As I am a Feist fan it was my first taste of urban fantasy......I WANT THE SEQUEL......
@@EricMussBarnes could you imagine the toning down they would have to do to it though it would Definetely be rated r hands down. Like Patrick masterbating. If they do it right this movie would be terrifying. I would like them to make it with 80s camera work though because thata how I always envisioned the movie to be
Great review mate! Faerie Tale has been one of my earliest favorite books (alongside Swan Song by Robert McCammon). I just ordered a signed, 1st edition and I can't wait to reread it after what has been at least 10 years 😁. Hope you're doing well!
It was my first novel I read electively ( not as assignment) I loved it so much it taught me to love reading
That's awesome. Those are always very special books.
I should have liked this video a long time ago. Thanks for the review.
You are welcome. Thank you for watching it.
I love that book. I try to read it every Halloween.

I agree. I feel it's really an overlooked and underrated story.
@@EricMussBarnes I would love to see a film treatment that includes the entire story staying true to the story.

I want a movie. And one that is 100% loyal to the book. Imagine how incredible it would look, with the effects technology of today.

It takes on a different element if you read it through a lovecraftian lense.
