Dude has a shop in his living room...living the life right there
I like the fact you use 2 different product to get a perfect reading. i will be buying both. i was just looking for a way not to get electrocute myself, and not accidentally flood my house. LOL. THANK YOU!
I have a cheaper model of the Franklin and it does a good enough job to keep it around, but it is frustrating sometimes. I LOVE the idea of the Walabot and I’m going to have to pick one up soon. It’s now on my Amazon wish list. Thank you for the entertaining and informative video!
Yeah, I’m of the opinion. I would rather spend less and get some thing super convenient or spend more and hit it out of the park every time.
" I LOVE the idea of the Walabot"
I've just been using three or four magnets. Leave the magnets stuck to the wall where they cling to the drywall screws and draw a line between them averaging out the center of the stud.
There's no accidental finding of a water or sewage pipe, or solid metal pipe because the magnets will stick throughout the pipe and not spaced out like with the screws.
I use that exact same method of 3-4 or more magnets to average out the center of stud. I also use Franklin Sensors M150 in combination with the magnets as a second source of verification. I haven't had a problem yet with this method, but I am thinking of upgrading my Franklin Sensors to the ProSensor MAX which is the ultimate model to have if you like Franklin Sensors. It has the maximum amount of sensors and LEDs for best precision. I'm also considering owning the Walabot because I'm positive it will come in handy sooner or later when you need to double check pipes and wires. I've seen mixed reviews of the Walabot about calibration frustration and accuracy, but I think overall people are happy with it and I'm sure it is a useful device as already stated.
PS: Both Franklin Sensors ProSensor MAX and Walabot DIY 2 are expensive, and that's what keeps me from holding on to buying either or both of them. But I will always use the magnet method as the ultimate check. When I can space out studs at 16 in (or once in a while 24") with the magnet method, I'm very satisfied and confident I have an X-ray vision of the studs behind the wall.
@@ustaarthur I bought my Walabot used on Offerup. It's a pain to use for me.
I have the Franklin and it actually senses the gap between the drywall sheets as a stud.
Ohh lol
Franklin for 4-5 years now. I can quickly get the center of the stud high and low then use level to draw vert line to multi-tool the sheetrock rock out, so I can do whatever and screw that sheetrock right back in place when done. Offer to patch (with 5 minute mud & wet sponge) to save the customer the need for another contractor.
I've had the Walabot for a few years. It's not real convenient. First take it out of its protective case, remove your phone out of its phone case because it is too thick or has a ring or kickstand that the Walabot will not stick to, open up the Walabot phone app, do the circular calibration on the wall which doesn't always work on the first try, move the Walabot along the wall without accidentally touching the phone screen. Mine also needs a USB cable between Walabot and the phone. Not sure if there's a Bluetooth option. Since my Walabot ring isn't sticky anymore, it's a chore to hold both together as you comb the wall.
It's a great concept. Wish they had an all in one unit with a built in screen.
Love your test, by the way.
GOOD SIR LOVE THE VIDEO BUT WILL WALABOT FIND PIPES AND WIRES IN A CONCRETE WALL?
Franklin is god tier
Ours just didn’t live up to that
Franklin Sensors ProSensor MAX is the ultimate Franklin model to have. It's $120 retail and for some reason not too easily found online except for Amazon and Lowe's.
This kind of "honesty" is exactly the problem we anticipated.
I don’t follow. It is 100 percent my opinion/ experience
I have the Zircon. It'll find a stud. May take a few swipes; truthfully it is largely irritating.
Franklin by far. 13 led lights and sensors
Franklin Sensors ProSensor MAX has 13 LEDs too but an insane 35 sensors which makes it the most accurate. It uses 7 LEDS per stud to give a better accuracy. The 7 red LEDs per stud come on as you scan the wall but in addition the center of the 7 LEDs turns green when you've hit dead center. It's $120 but I think worth it. I'm thinking of getting one and upgrading my M150.
Does the wallabot work on tile wall?
Let me find out
I have the zircon. It’s a bit of a struggle with this one.
I like the size and that’s about it
Zircon one sucks i had it paid $200 and it was NEVER consistent
