The way he tells the story I start picturing it in my mind. Masha Allah great scholars. This story and every story of Islam makes me feel so proud of being Muslim and that how beautiful our religion is Alhamdulillah
All my life I hated the thought that non-Muslims had to pay the Jizia- the protection tax. I thought it unfair. Today was the first time I heard it was not only less than zakat (which is only 2.5% itself) but it exempted non-Muslims from service in the army. This brought me to tears. This was not a burdensome tax at all. In fact it’s beyond fair. I hate that I didn’t know this. SubhanAllah

When we are so busy with western education , we are also failing to learn the beauty of our Deen , and sometimes we are the one who cast misunderstandings to our own Deen because we are ignorant to our Deen 😢 Instead of learning it and spreading its goodness .. we won't understand because we don't spend effort to learn it ourselves..

Unfortunately, most sincere and truth-seeking Muslims are committed to reciting their Al-Fatiha, 5 times every day.
Our words are potent. What you say repeatedly to yourself is more compelling than what someone else tells you.
This is why it’s almost impossible, to convince a devout praying Muslim, that Mohammed has flaws or that God’s nature isn’t necessarily constrained into a singular entity, or that Christians are not deceived, or that Jews are not cursed.
What we repeatedly say to ourselves, regardless of its validity, becomes our truth and belief. Be careful what you recite. 🙏🏾

The hukum of praising a person in islam is “Harus” but with the condition that the praise is on the thing that is true and not a lie. Similarly, the praise should be in a state that does not bring fitnah to the person being praised and does not cause the person to feel ‘ujub (proud).

I can almost see it and feel the atmosphere as he entered with his servant on the horse and him holding on the reins in his tattered cloths full of mud and dirt! Allahu Akhbar. Alhamdulillah for this video and historical breakdown of Omar ibn Khattab's life (RAA), may Allah be pleased with him and grant him the highest of Jannah. I knew his strength as a companion and khalifah but this was fantastic in really giving me a deeper understanding of this great man but also a deeper love and appreciation for all his contributions to me having Islam today...Subhanallah...Allahu Akbar. My favourite has been the part where he showed his integrity, humility and leadership in making the long journey to Jerusalem whilst being an older man, no weapons, patched garment, allowing his servant to take turns on the camel/horse in a 50/50 split but most importantly walking with nothing but tawakul lillah...subhanallah. May ALLAH be pleased with all the companions and enable us to emmulate even just 50% of their adaab and character ameen thumma ameen
