Social workers went to the house REGULARLY and didn't have the children removed? Only when the grandfather died and EMTs went to remove the body somebody did something. Why does CPS continuously fail so miserably to do their jobs? Kids are removed from loving, stable homes all the time for the dumbest reasons while kids living in squalor and abuse are routinely left and forgotten about.
I realize that the woman who said "it's just wrong" about that child asking the neighbors for food didn't mean it this way but, I couldn't help but think that kid sounds pretty smart to me! If you're a kid who's hungry & your parents, guardians, whoever, aren't feeding you, you go find it! I know I've fed a lot of kids over the years who otherwise would've gone hungry. And I don't live in a depressed or poor area. Just lots of parents who seem to have forgotten or never learned how to be a parent. Or a decent human who thinks for someone other than themselves.
Juli E. I wondered anout that comment. I was a poor kid with a not present alcoholic mom, and i went to friends house for dinner, Alot. And one of my friends moms started packing her daughter an extra lunch to bring to me everyday. For 6 years, until I was 18, no jokes and on weekends she would send her daughter over with leftovers, i went with them on summef vacations even spent holidays with their family, i was given Presents at christmas just like their daughter, Her mom even threw me birthday parties. I love them so much still, and I have thats why I think I adopted 2 of my kids. My friends mom did for me without question, paid for my field trips, gave me chores and allowance. They never said anything bad about my mom just loved me. Now Im the mom of my neighborhood who sends out baked goods, freezies, and host sleepovers. Neighbors changed the trajectory of my future and gave me the love and skills I needed to break the cycle. We need more neighbors like that.

I randomly clicked on this video and then realized OH I live in the neighboring county 🤢 a few weeks ago there were 4 cop cars in front of my apt complex and found out neighbors were arrested for child abuse. Some people shouldn’t have kids. Meanwhile, there’s people out there more deserving than anyone to have children but struggle with fertility. These kinda folks pump out babies like it’s their job. Smh
DSS is understaff and the staff that they are hiring are undertrained. They don’t have anywhere for these children to go even if they removed them. And they might just wind up worse off then this if DSS gets them.
